[[Vinyl Scratch]] is a minor character in ''[[My Little Pony|My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic]]'' who also shows up in human form in the ''Equestria Girls'' film series, which Chris adores. She cohabits with another musically inclined pony named Octavia. Chris had been a fan of this character for some time. He had added 28 videos to a playlist called "Vinyl Scratch and Octavia" on his [[YouTube]] account, and had made a number of positive statements on Facebook. Vinyl Scratch brings together Chris's interests in [[music]], [[Impulse Gay Social Club|dancing]], and--while the children's cartoon doesn't go there--[[Homos#Chris the lesbian|lesbianism]].

Chris's [[Chris and cosplaying|costume]] appears to be largely homemade. He is wearing the same purple My Little Pony goggles as when he attended his first [[Cville Pride|pride festival]] in August 2014, and when he [[26 December 2014|maced a GameStop manajerk]]. Vinyl Scratch's purple tights are conveniently suited to Chris's tucking methods. He had first given himself the terrible blue [[hair]] dye job in July. The musical notes on his costume are the [[Chris and Music|wrong way around]], because he used a [[Autism|flipped image as a reference]]. He is also, rather surprisingly, wearing his famous [[medallion]] in public, possibly for the first time since [[2010]]. This is similar to how he cosplayed "as himself" at Anime Mid-Atlantic for the sake of self-promotion. This time around, however, he's also promoting the medallions themselves, as they are his hottest [[eBay]] item.

Chris entered the cosplay [[contest]], posing for the contest line and a group photo. His performance was presumably not unlike what the crowds at [[Impulse Gay Social Club]] have to put up with every weekend. A few days later Chris would reveal that he had just finished a seven-week belly dancing course, which undoubtedly influenced his moves.

Like his beliefs on [[Chris and religion|religion]] and [[Chris and gender|gender]], Chris's stance on morality is difficult to interpret. Chris often claims that he is a kind, good-natured, saintly person that doesn't deserve scorn. To a certain extent, he's right, but for all of the wrong reasons.

Despite what one may think about Chris, the reality is that he is relatively harmless and is somewhat capable of distinguishing right and wrong. But that is only scratching the surface, as Chris's selfishness and [[Naïve|naivete]] often turn out to be the main culprits behind him doing immoral actions, rather than true malevolence.

One infamous example of this behavior is when he foolishly drew and uploaded [[SheCameForCWC.jpg]] onto Encyclopedia Dramatica as a means to combat all of the pictures of [[duck]]s and [[pickle]]s he found on the site, as well as to [[Homos#Fear of being a homo|prove his straightness]], not thinking about how [[Megan Schroeder|Megan]] might respond to being depicted in such an undignified manner in a shoddily drawn piece of porn. Megan, who was looking for just about any reason to stop talking to Chris,<ref>[[Mimms and Lucas Q&A#Initial post]]</ref> was understandably revolted. However, what cements the fact that his naivete was partly responsible is how Chris tried to explain to Megan what happened in the picture itself, thinking that she was inexperienced with [[Chris and sex|sex]], and didn't understand what was going on, rather than the obvious fact that she was depicted in such a demeaning situation, and that Chris obviously wants to pound her.

An outsider's account has confirmed this, specifically that of [[Mimms_and_Lucas_Q%26A|Mimms and Lucas]]. Mimms stated that Chris didn't seem aware he had committed wrongdoings to justify getting banned from [[The GAMe PLACe]] (but he certainly knew he was no longer welcome there)<ref>[[Mimms_and_Lucas_Q%26A#Chris's_ban_from_the_store]]</ref>. Though Chris didn't seem to recall anything beyond a so-called [[Jackie_E-mails#Chris_hates_authority|"Wii incident"]] or "[[100_2261.MOV|shout(ing) a loud outburst twice]]", he still saw fit to try and [[Chris and remorse|apologize]] to [[Michael Snyder]] (in a predictably failed bid to have his ban repealed).

Whoever Chris acts kindly to depends on who he would classify as [[Gal-Pals|his "friends"]] and [[Trolls|his "enemies".]] If someone gets in the way of whatever he wants to do, or he shifts the blame on someone else for his own fails, Chris will deem that someone as a troll that wants nothing more of him than to make him miserable, showing very little respect of whoever inconvenienced him. Whoever Chris doesn't classify as a troll or feels "temporarily" joined the side of the trolls are his friends. Typically, Chris will attempt to befriend internet celebrities and staff members of the media he enjoys.

== Empathy ==

Chris has a very warped understanding of empathy. This could be attributed to his autism, as autistic people generally have difficulty empathizing with others, although Chris's case has much more to do with his upbringing.

His dubious (if virtually nonexistent) ability to empathize has also led him to denounce most anyone with whom he had a conflict as [[Michael Snyder is ColdHearted and Mean|mean, heartless]] or even [[Private Villa of Corrupted Citizens|flat out villainous]], irrespective of all evidence pointing towards responsibility for turmoil falling on him. Despite fervently chiding them for allegedly lacking a heart, he often neglects to take ''their'' thoughts and feelings into consideration [[Chris and hypocrisy|himself]], preferring to instead jump to conclusions just because they happen to deviate from his extremely simplistic ideals (not to mention deny him what he feels entitled to have).

While socializing with his alleged pals, Chris always takes the time to act as kind as possible to them, to the point where it becomes downright disturbing. Unsurprisingly, Chris has used Social Media as a means of continuing his [[Love Quest]] and finding the [[sweetheart]] he has desired for over a decade. Because of that, most of the people [[Sweetheart from the Ground-Up|Chris attempts to befriend are girls]], with and [[Boyfriend-Free Girl|without boyfriends]].

In terms of friendships on social media, whenever he feels he's up the creek without a paddle, Chris will almost always doubt that he is in any way responsible for anybody turning against him because, in his eyes, he is too kind for anyone to simply block him on Twitter or to be hated by the masses, and instead [[Chris and remorse|shifts the blame on the trolls]]. This coupled with the fact that Chris refuses to see the worst out of his friends unless he gets the hint that they denied access to their [[china]] makes it sound even more disturbing.

As mentioned above with the Doopie saga, Chris has a tendency to believe he is doing good when in reality, he isn't. A common motivation for doing what he believes to be good is so that he can 'defend' someone he thinks is close to him; Chris has demonstrated this numerous times with Troll-created [[Sweethearts]], such as attempting to 'defend' [[Julie]] from [[Clyde Cash]] in voice chat sessions, then [[Ohio Trip|driving all the way to Cleveland]] in his belief that she would be there. Chris has also attempted to shift the focus of [[Weening]] against Doopie to himself in his [[HarassCWCdirectly|Twitter campaign]], when in reality the situation, far less serious than he thought it was, could have been resolved had Chris simply quieted down.

In other instances, Chris will only act kindly to people to avoid getting into trouble. Whenever he tries to apologize to anyone, it's usually for reasons such as getting his [[PSN]] account back, or in an attempt to get back into places he was banned from.

In general, the reason for Chris's acting kindly towards others is his thinking that doing so is the best way to manipulate them into doing whatever he wants them to. This is possibly due to his misunderstanding of simple etiquette and manners.

== Genuine acts of kindness ==
During [[Liquid Chris]] saga, Chris wanted to get Liquid arrested, and therefore placing him in prison. However, after talking with [[Kacey]], he decided that he "would hate to see you in jail, out of respect, and of care, because she would be heartbroken."<ref>[[CHRIS!!! CHANDLER!!!]]</ref> It's worth mentioning that only a few seconds later, he threatens to get him tried in court, so this should be taken with a grain of salt.

Chris once participated in raising funds for [[Alex's Lemonade Stand]], a charity program that works to raise awareness of childhood cancer. Although he did it in memory of his [[Bob Chandler|deceased father]], who actually passed away as a result of heart disease rather than cancer, it was still considered a positive contribution Chris made to society.

He also donated to Red Cross in the wake of Hurricane Harvey in September 2017.

However, Everfree Northwest blacklisted him from attending and revoked his ticket during the fallout of the [[Incest Call]],<ref name=knights>[[The Knights of CWC chats (July 2021)#Chris's Final Messages in the Knights Server]]</ref> a leaked conversation in which [[Affair with Mother|Chris admitted to having incestuous relations with]] [[Barbara Chandler|his mother]]. Chris was in jail while the con took place, and the funds raised for the planned trip were returned to the commissioners by fundraiser organizer [[Null]].

Following the [[Incest Call]] being leaked and Chris allegedly stealing $750 from [[Barbara]]'s bank account, on 31 July, Null posted an update to the GoFundMe page stating he would be returning all of the donations and that the GoFundMe page had been in-part a test to see if Chris could handle completing commissions, with the hope that it could have been a way for Chris to reach financial stability in the future. Null has since then cut all direct contact he had with Chris.

On 11 [[July 2021]], Chris posted to Twitter stating that he would be hoping to cosplay as [[CPU Blue Heart]] during the convention. He also stated that he would be willing to pay a costume designer for the cosplay to be assembled, implying that money from the initial $1,000 fundraiser would've been used to pay for it. The cosplay apparently would have included a one-piece torso outfit, shin guards, and the Commodore Wings.<ref>[[July 2021 social media posts#Cosplay at Everfree Northwest]]</ref>

Chris stated a day later on Twitter that he had supposedly found a person willing to design some parts of the cosplay, however, that he was still in need of someone to design the one-piece torso part of the cosplay.<ref>[[July 2021 social media posts#More cosplay stuff]]</ref>

The problem, of course, is the fact that high quality cosplay outfits usually take a while to make, and that they are even more difficult to create when they are made remotely, away from the person who would need to be fitted into the uniform. Given that Chris had regularly stretched the truth about his [[obesity]] problem in the past, and the short notice that the outfit would have been made on, the results would have likely been far from ideal.

Since the [[Incest Call]] was leaked and [[Incest Arrest|Chris was arrested on a charge of incest]], whether the unnamed designer Chris had found actually produced any pieces of the cosplay is unknown, although if pieces of the cosplay did exist at one point, it can be assumed that it has since been scrapped or repurposed into another outfit.
