The '''Watchmen''' were a group of fanatical [[enablers]] whose members served as gatekeepers and [[white knights]] for [[Christian Weston Chandler|Chris]], in a similar manner as their predecessors, the [[Guard Dogs]]. Their goal was to keep away malicious individuals trying to troll or scam Chris. The group broke up in late [[June 2021]] following a series of internal conflicts among its members.

As a faction, the Watchmen were instrumental in numerous events over the course of late 2019 onwards, such as attempting to dismantle [[Jacob Sockness]]’s influence over Chris and drive him off. They also shut down the Arbitarch CWC Alliance Discord server when the true intent of the server was revealed. Chris had contact with the Watchmen, including [[CWC and Friends on Google Hangout (July 20th, 2020)|chatting with them]] on [[Discord Q&A 4|Google Hangouts]] and over [[Discord]]. The Watchmen were behind the [[2020 Discord leaks|Discord leaks in August 2020]].

Their approach is controversial as they gained Chris's favor by means of [[Enablers|enabling]] his delusions by pretending to be fellow [[CPU]] goddesses and encouraging his beliefs in [[magical thinking]] and the [[Dimensional Merge]]. The Watchmen tracked and collected information on anyone involved with- or trying to get involved with- Chris, and held no qualms about doxing potential weens, trolls, and a-logs.

While they shared a name with the 1986/1987 DC Comics limited series by Alan Moore, David Gibbons, and John Higgins, the 2009 film adaptation (which is [[Emily Date Conversation Transcript|not that long of a movie]], according to [[Emily]] and [[The Man in the Pickle Suit]]), the 2019 HBO series, and the various comic book spin-offs, the Watchmen did not take inspiration from the franchise, in contrast to how [[The Miscreants]] modeled themselves after the Patriots from ''[[Metal Gear Solid]]''. Nonetheless, fan art from Christorians and other avid observers of Chris make this connection.

==Origins==
What eventually became the Watchmen group had its roots in the CWC Rebellion Discord server. After Meghan had been in contact with Chris for some time, Owls came up with the idea to try to [[manipulate]] Chris's beliefs away from the [[Dimensional Merge]] through telling him that the [[Hyperdimension Neptunia|CPU goddesses]] had relocated to Earth. Meghan recruited her friends to role-play as CPUs to Chris over Discord; Owls acted as a gatekeeper between MKR's friends and Chris.<ref name=cpuowls></ref>

According to the Watchman Bismuth, Owls acted as liaison between the CPU group and Marvin of the [[Guard Dogs]] group (the latter group also gatekeepers to Chris at the time) but Bismuth alleged that Owls wasn't reporting back to Marvin. Owls later left the group.<ref name=naughtclarify></ref>

He later conspired with Bella to frame the Suitress for encouraging Chris's incestous activities.<ref name="WCTThread/> He first claimed that he had no involvement with Bella at all, and that he was the one who leaked the conversations, and not the Suitress, but this was eventually proven false.

More importantly, it has come to light that Bella's plot to have Chris kill himself was most likely inspired by Sean's own manipulations of Chris. As mentioned before, Sean was a long-time follower of Randy Stair, who had killed himself after committing {{w|Eaton Township Weis Markets shooting|a mass shooting}} in a bizarre plot to reincarnate as a cartoon character.<ref name="WCTThread/> As a result, it is speculated that Bella intended to have Chris commit suicide in a similar fashion after having sex with his mother in order to finally complete the Dimensional Merge.

==Breakup of the Watchmen==
Signs of the group collapsing began appearing in late June 2021. Earlier in the month, The WCT had been doxed on [[Kiwi Farms]] by an account named Nightmare, and signs pointed to fellow Watchman and group leader Bismuth as the person behind the account.<ref name=naughtthread>https://www.lolcow.org/threads/anameisaname-bismuth-anon-llc-naught-nitto-nanashi-death-of-chans-doppelganger-nightmare-tardwarsllc-heart-cpu-bismuth-heart.724/ (archive: https://archive.fo/G30td)</ref> When The WCT confronted Bismuth in a voice chat during the group’s movie night on 21 June, Bismuth denied the allegation, then threatened to further dox The WCT in an attempt to silence him. On 25 June, The WCT informed Chris about the infighting. He showed Chris screenshots of Nightmare's Kiwi Farms posts and the voice chat in which he had confronted the group over Bismuth being Nightmare. According to The WCT, Chris gradually processed the information, in particular picking up on red flags from Bismuth in the chat - noticing his defensiveness and hostility towards The WCT. Ultimately, Chris believed The WCT's evidence and apparently cut ties with Bismuth over it.<ref name=wctinterview>[[Watchmen#Interview]]</ref> A leaked voice clip of Chris saying “Fuck Bismuth!”<ref>https://www.lolcow.org/data/audio/7/7468-370ce5544aee794a8de75b3181dd6c0f.mp3</ref> was posted to a Lolcow.org thread made about Bismuth the following day.<ref name=naughtthread></ref>

Kyle banned The WCT from the Watchmen's [[Discord]] server. In response, Chris then decided to leave their server. As The WCT explained, "he saw my banning as a signal to him that my suspicions about Bismuth and the others were correct." The [[Praetor]] group, who had also been in the server, left it as well following Chris's departure.<ref name=wctinterview></ref>

On 29 June, MKRNightVee made multiple tweets which suggested Chris had cut communications with her. She tagged Chris’s Twitter and posted, “Your obviously good at using people and then moving on to the next. Many of these recruits were also members of two distinct "chess-club" Discord servers run by Bella.

In July 2021, Bella recorded a call of her and Chris discussing Chris's incest with Barb, most likely for blackmail purposes.<ref name="BellaThread"/> Despite Chris going into [[Honest Content|graphic detail]] about the act, Bella acted nonchalant throughout, and even encouraging at times. Semi-popular Youtube [[Carpetbaggers|carpetbagger]] GiBi, desperate to showcase the events early for his Youtube channel, became her unwitting tool when he decided to interview Bella. Immediately accepting Bella's story that the entire scandal was the fault of the Suitress, GiBi then accidentally leaked her phone number in one of his videos for thousands to see. Despite the video being quickly taken down for doxxing, GiBi decided to upload the video a second time without removing the Suitress' phone number, spreading her personal information to even more people.

In the end, this whole charade didn't do much other than inflict unnecessary psychological harm onto the Suitress, as by this point, it had already been made abundantly clear to everyone who was paying attention that Bella was a compulsive liar and was not to be trusted.

During her plot, Bella manipulated and/or enlisted many people to help her out with her plans. Some of them were genuinely unaware of Bella's true intentions, while others had intentions as equally as depraved as hers. Though, given her known plans for [[Isabella Loretta Janke#The Everfree Suitress|one particular associate]], as well as the fact that she had driven at least one TTU student to suicide, and how she eventually decided to backstab almost all of her associates directly after the leaks by doxxing them, it may turn out she had nefarious plans for many of the people listed below.

Note that none of this is meant to portray her as a hero - the Suitress has shown [[Ween|weenish]] tendencies herself, most notably attempting to use throwaway accounts to join the Bella hate bandwagon, even when she was banned from using the Internet.

The Suitress was originally planned to be sent with Chris on a trip to the [[My Little Pony|brony]] convention [[Everfree Northwest]], part of her codename's namesake. According to Discord leaks, Bella planned to have the Suitress and Chris copulate during the convention, and record it. The exact purpose for this is unknown, but Bella, sexually attracted to the Suitress in the past, had also claimed in those same leaks that she planned to "steal" the Suitress for herself.

Despite all of this elaborate scheming, Chris did not seem to show very much interest in the Suitress at this point, and a lot more interest for Bella. This made things more difficult for Bella, as when she tried to book a room for the both herself and the Suitress, Chris kept insisting that a room be booked for both him and her.

Their approach is controversial as they gained Chris's favor by means of [[Enablers|enabling]] his delusions by pretending to be fellow [[CPU]] goddesses and encouraging his beliefs in [[magical thinking]] and the [[Dimensional Merge]]. The Watchmen tracked and collected information on anyone involved with- or trying to get involved with- Chris, and held no qualms about doxing potential weens, trolls, and a-logs.

While they shared a name with the 1986/1987 DC Comics limited series by Alan Moore, David Gibbons, and John Higgins, the 2009 film adaptation (which is [[Emily Date Conversation Transcript|not that long of a movie]], according to [[Emily]] and [[The Man in the Pickle Suit]]), the 2019 HBO series, and the various comic book spin-offs, the Watchmen did not take inspiration from the franchise, in contrast to how [[The Miscreants]] modeled themselves after the Patriots from ''[[Metal Gear Solid]]''. What eventually became the Watchmen group had its roots in the CWC Rebellion Discord server.
