'''Television''' is a widely-used telecommunication medium for transmitting and receiving moving images. It is a staple in almost all North American homes, as well as many other homes throughout the world. It's also one of the favorite pastimes of our [[Chris|mutual friend]]. Indeed, when not "[[Fridays After Five|social]][[Impulse Gay Social-Club|izing]]", [[recycling]], playing [[video games]] or ranting about [[Sonic Boom Protests|blue arms]], it's a fairly safe bet Chris is sitting down and watching TV. [[Chris and health|Lots and lots of TV]].

Chris gets most of his information concerning the outside world through the television, among other entertainment media. This leads to blatantly ripping off concepts and characters from whatever he watches.

==Interpretation of media==

Chris is prone to interpreting various forms of media in his own strange way. During his attempt to put up his own ads on the CWCipedia, he claimed that the award-winning film ''{{w|Avatar (film)|Avatar}}'' was meant to promote the eradication of [[homos]]exuality, rather than the tolerance of other cultures.<ref>When Chris edited [[Mailbag 23]], he [http://archive.sonichu.com/cwcipedia/index.php?title=Mailbag_23&oldid=5987 inserted into the article an ad for ''Avatar''] and wrote a caption under it saying the movie promotes heterosexuality. This ad was later on removed by the sysop.</ref> How he contrived this idea is a complete mystery; not only does homosexuality not feature in the film in any way, but the message of the film is it's wrong to exterminate anything. His fear of homosexuals destroying the future, incidentally, emerged from an episode of ''[[South Park]]'' called "{{w|Goobacks}}", which was a satire of the controversy of illegal immigration. In the episode, a group of [[Ruckersville, VA|rednecks]] who had lost their jobs to the illegal immigrants from the future decided that the best way to get their jobs back was to destroy the future by making everyone gay so there wouldn't be anybody in the future. Chris, however, [[Autism|took everything at face value]] and interpreted the episode as a scare film on par with ''{{w|Red Dawn}}''. In a similar vein, Chris is convinced that ''[[Family Guy]]'' is anti-gay Republican propaganda, owing to his failure to interpret that the show is [[parody]]ing Republicans, and that the show's creator [[Seth MacFarlane]] is famously a supporter of gay rights. Interestingly, Chris does not have this same misconception when it comes to live-action media. He's explicitly stated that ''Seinfeld'' characters aren't real and justified his like of the ''[[Saw]]'' series by saying that the violence is all made up.

As shown above, Chris rarely understands any moral dispensed by media, generally wildly misinterpreting them and then citing them as justification for his ridiculous and bigoted behavior. For example, while attempting to justify his attempt to pretend to be [[Liquid Chris]] in an attempt to steal his girlfriend, he claimed that he was "wrong, but for the right reasons".<ref>[[I Love You Kacey]]</ref> This comes from another episode of ''South Park'' called "{{w|Best Friends Forever (South Park)|Best Friends Forever}}", where, after a satire of the {{w|Terri Schiavo}} controversy, it is stated that Cartman was "right, but for the wrong reasons". In context, it meant that his goal of shutting down the vegetative Kenny's life support was the right thing to do (for reasons involving the fate of the universe that are too complex to explain here), but his motivation was completely off mark: he only did it because he knew that Kenny's death would cause him to inherit his [[PSP]]. Meanwhile, Stan and Kyle were "Wrong, but for the right reasons", as they wanted to keep Kenny alive in a perpetual vegetative state even though they should just let him die, but they were doing so because they actually cared about Kenny, rather than exploiting the situation for their own benefit like Cartman was. Chris seems to have interpreted this as "If you do a bunch of bad things, like pretending to be someone else in order to steal their girlfriend, you are completely justified in doing so if your dishonest actions lead to a positive outcome, like proving that you are the TRUE and HONEST Christian Weston Chandler and getting laid".

== Taste in TV ==

Chris is a fan of South Park and almost all of Seth McFarlane's creations (''[[Family Guy]]'', ''American Dad!'', ''[[The Cleveland Show]]''). He bought [[List of Chris's PSN video downloads|tons of their episodes]] via the [[PlayStation Network]], for a sizable amount of [[money]]. [[Adult Swim]] is another big favorite of our autistic hero, and he even entered [[Harvey Birdman commercial|one of their contests]] and [[Adult Swim posts#Chris on his Harvey Birdman contest entry (April 2005)|raged when he didn't win]]. He recently got into F is For Family, a Netflix original created by Bill Burr.

[[Anime]] is another area where Chris's choices are very transparent. Among some of his favorites over the years include ''{{w|Shuffle!}}'' (essentially a tale of a somewhat unlikable guy [[Women's rights|suddenly being accosted by several obedient and attractive females]]), ''{{w|Gunslinger Girl}}'' (essentially a slightly [[Pedofork|unnerving]] bit of softcore eroticism), and ''[[Excel Saga]]'' (while generally regarded favorably, is chock-full of in-jokes and [[parody]], things that Chris can't understand but is eager to copy).

Certain bizarre choices do stick out, however. ''[[Monty Python's Flying Circus]]'' has been [[CWCFlyingElephants|brought up]] or '[[Merried Seinor Comic|referenced]]' several times, along with [[Some Favored Comedians|comedian]] [[Red Skelton]], and ''[[I Love Lucy]]''. The former feature's absurdity probably piqued Chris's interest, while the final two are probably an offshoot of [[Borb|his decrepit parents]].

Chris is a fan of [[The Place chats (October 2020)#Tea Parties and Musicals|movie musicals]], and that his top 3 are "On The Town", "Singin' in the Rain", and "Meet Me In St. Louis". In the same conversation, he described [[Mary Poppins]] another movie musical, as his favourite film.

Chris seems to have also watched a fair bit of Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon in the late 1990s and early 2000s, making references to ''[[KCWC_broadcast|Cousin Skeeter]]'', ''[[Things_Chris_has_ripped_off#Ed.2C_Edd_n_Eddy|Ed, Edd n Eddy]]'', and ''[[Things_Chris_has_ripped_off#The_Powerpuff_Girls|The Powerpuff]] [[Tomgirl_Saga|Girls]]'', among others. Many of these shows have gained significant cult followings, but were made for kids much younger than Chris was at the time. Seeing his [[Pokemon|oth]][[Transformers|er]] [[Sonic_The_Hedgehog|int]][[Lego|erests]], though, it's not that surprising that he was watching shows designed for elementary schoolers when he was in high school and college.

Chris has also shown an occasional preference for some horror movies, including the film adaption of Silent Hill, and the ''[[Saw]]'' series, which although rarely mentioned by Chris could be viewed as an inspiration for the events of [[Sonichu 10|''Sonichu'' #10]], where the [[Asperpedia Four]] were executed via elaborate death traps...well, elaborate by [[Autism|Chris's]] [[Chris and reality|standards]].

If [[:File:Family Guy mirror.jpg|this picture]] is clear, Chris may be using Hulu or Hulu Plus lately to watch all the shows he can't on Netflix. Chris has also hinted that he might be using Disney+.

== Netflix ==

Chris has used Netflix to satisfy his watching needs instantaneously, enabling him to reach a near-comatose state of mental saturation. Put in more practical terms, he spent more than ''6 hours'' watching ''{{w|Keeping Up Appearances}}'' and ''[[South Park]]'' in a single day. Twice. In terms of averages, Chris watches roughly 3 hours of television a day, at least for the week viewed.<ref>[[Netflix#Queues on 21 November 2009]]</ref>

The huge selection and 'Instant Watch' feature, combined with Chris's need to whack, has led to some interesting choices in film. To date, he has rented ''{{w|Maniac Nurses Find Ecstasy}}'', ''Story of O'', ''[[Virgin]]'', and many more titles with sexual names and/or posters. Considering Netflix doesn't deal in porn, he's wasting his time. Other than these porno hunts and impulse rentals, Chris is pretty much interested in only two types of three types of programs; adult cartoons, British sitcoms, and comedy, displaying a remarkably narrow range of interests. The only movie that really stands out in his selections is ''[[Vamprosa|Twilight]]''.

Netflix has also allowed him easier access to the cartoons of his childhood, ''[[Transformers]]'' and ''[[Sonic the Hedgehog|Sonic]]'' being the most prominent. The apparent binge of ''Transformers''-related television may have been the "[[Things Chris has ripped off|inspiration]]" behind [[Sonichu 9|''Sonichu'' #9]].

Beginning in the second half of the 2010's, Netflix also began investing in anime for original content. Of all these, Chris spent ''a single day'' in early [[July 2020]] binge-watching ''BNA: Brand New Animal'', merely stating on his social media it's "a very good anime"<ref>[[July_2020_social_media_posts#Animu]]</ref>. Given that it's a flashy action-packed anime consisting of [[Chris and sex#Is Chris a furry?|humanoid animals]], [[Sonichu (character)|overpowered protagonists]], [[The Adventures of The American Rabbit|moralizing lectures]], [[Piedmont Virginia Community College|a villainous conspiracy]] and [[Sonichu 10#Curing Da Homos|the heroine's blood being used for a vaccine to cure the populace]] (many of which should sound familiar to anyone on this wiki), that Chris would find it enjoyable is unsurprising.

'''''Sonichu'' #5''' is the sixth issue of the ''[[Sonichu (comic)|Sonichu]]'' comic series.

By this point in his life [[Chris]] was obsessed with [[Megan]], and it's painfully obvious in this issue. For one thing, he's suddenly using ''[[Yu-Gi-Oh!]]'' cards all the damn time. Chris brushes premises like his [[Love Quest]] and the Chris/[[Wes]]/[[Sarah Hammer]] triangle under the rug so that he can introduce [[Sailor Megtune]] and the storyline that she is clearly meant to be Chris's sweetheart but is mysteriously uncomfortable with his affections. Reading Megan's dialogue in this issue suggests he has no earthly idea why she would refuse his advances, and Chris doesn't even invent a fictional explanation for the sake of drama.

Episode 13 introduces the first major multi-issue story arc, in which [[Mary Lee Walsh]] finally sets her sights higher than assaulting a single moron and instead invades his entire town, [[CWCville]], as well imprisoning [[Crystal Weston Chandler (sister)|his sister]] in a dark mirror. The elements introduced here would continue to play out until Walsh's final defeat in [[Episode 21]].

This issue also abandons any pretense of featuring [[Sonichu (character)|Sonichu]] in any meaningful role. In commentary on the ''[[Sonichu 5 Official Videobook|Sonichu 5 Videobook]]'', Chris explains that his [[Barbara|mom]] has forbidden him from writing any more [[Sub-Episodes]] about his real life, so he does the only logical thing: he makes his life the ''main'' Episode. Whereas issues [[Sonichu 2|''Sonichu'' #2]] and [[Sonichu 3|''Sonichu'' #3]] set Sonichu aside to introduce new characters, and [[Sonichu 4|''Sonichu'' #4]] was a special focusing on Chris, ''Sonichu'' #5 is simply a blatant and unjustified spotlight on Chris, with the titular character of the franchise taking a back seat to him, Megan, and even a [[Patti-Chan|dead dog]].

The first half of the comic stars Chris as he saves [[Sarah Hammer]]'s wedding from the evil [[Wes Iseli]]. The story is a sort of coda to the [[Sub-Episodes]] of [[Sonichu 4|''Sonichu'' #4]], with Chris introducing [[Megan Schroeder]] as his new love interest. The entire wedding plot seems to be simply a means of writing Sarah Hammer out of the story so Megan can take her place, necessitating a hasty euthanization of the [[Anchuent Powers]] storyline since Sarah is no longer a suitable romantic interest.

Much of the comic seems to have been made the way it was for the sake of wooing weeaboo and one-time potential sweetheart Megan, including altering the artwork to a more [[Anime|manga]]-esque style. The terminology of the dialogue also reflects this; the term "Sailor Soldier", a more accurate translation of the lead team in ''[[Sailor Moon]]'', is used instead of the traditional term "Sailor Scout", a piece of trivia Megan presumably gave him as Chris uses Sailor Moon as little more than a [[Sailor Moon Poster of Fail|totem of heterosexuality]]. Having turned Megan into a glamorous hero, Chris then sees fit to unambiguously profess his romantic attraction to her, which probably did little to improve their real-life friendship.

While past issues of ''Sonichu'' have featured embellished versions of Chris's real-life exploits, it was generally obvious what had actually taken place, whereas the truth behind this story is less clear. The fact that Chris attends the wedding "in spirit" in the comic suggests that he was never actually there at all in real life. In the videobook version of the episode, Chris even states that the reason why he is initially invisible while attending Sarah's wedding is that he wasn't invited to it; it can be reasonably assumed that this statement applies to both comics and real life.

It's not as though Sarah would have had any desire or obligation to invite a sex-obsessed former neighbor anyway. Other reasons for believing that Chris was not present at Sarah's wedding include his ignorance of wedding traditions (the bride isn't supposed to throw the bouquet to any specific person, and catching the bouquet only means you are more likely to be married if you are a woman), and the lack of detail in the depiction of the wedding itself. The guests are literally white circles above chairs, which could also be attributed to Chris's work ethic, but Spicer is "played" by a fictional character, suggesting Chris has never seen the man, and the chapel looks suspiciously similar to one seen in the final scene of the ''[[Excel Saga]]'' anime.

Chris catches the bouquet at the end and implies that it heralds his incipient romance with Megan.

===Synopsis===

Chris opens the story by announcing that "Jack's Knight", a character from a ''[[Yu-Gi-Oh!]]'' card, will be playing the part of [[William Spicer]].

In a nondescript chapel, [[Sarah Hammer]] is marrying Spicer before a gathering of white, humanoid blobs sitting in the pews (with one possible colored person, but Chris may have colored over them on accident). Also present is Chris, floating invisibly above the proceedings. For some reason, they left the door open to the church, and [[Wes-Li Sonichu]] observes from the open doorway. Still bitter over Sarah rejecting him in [[Sonichu 2|''Sonichu'' #2]], he plans to take revenge.

From his vantage, Chris ponders the new life awaiting his childhood friend. For some reason, he's using the powers of his [[medallion]] to attend the ceremony invisibly, and he regrets being unable to stay long enough to catch the bouquet, even though that's a tradition for the women of the wedding, and they probably wouldn't want some overweight, smelly man there to grab the bouquet and throw a fit when he doesn't/hit on the lucky catcher.

When the first version of this comic was published, it was not explained why Chris attends the wedding in secret or why was he planning to stay for only a part of it. However, in the videobook version of this episode, Chris states that he attends the wedding invisible due to not being invited to it. Which is weird Chris would not write himself as part of the wedding, or even as her "Maid of Honor", given that Sarah/Nicole constantly refers to him as 'best friend', and is supposed to be his reincarnated wife. Also, the fact Sarah/Nicole is later seen as Chris's "best man" in [[Wedding_Comic| Sonichu Special 2]], but that's another story.

More important to Chris is his recent friendship with a [[Sailor Megtune|"real super girl"]] whom he compares his feelings to her to "A strong, pure love sweeter than a passionate strawberry, or the sweetest piece of chocolate". His reverie is cut short, however, when his sixth sense alerts him to Wes-Li's attack on William Spicer and his abduction of Sarah.

Determined to prevent this, Chris uses his Duel Disk Launcher to "play a 'reasoning'" (read: reason with Wes). Telepathically, he tries to talk Wes out of his plan, pointing out that there are other girls behind the "light magical curtain" (advice Chris falls to listen to himself). But, since Wes has no "conseince," he attacks Spicer anyway, forcing Chris to reveal himself and transform into [[Chris-Chan Sonichu]].

Still fantasizing about [[Megan]], Chris tries to convince Wes to stand down. Wes brutally beats him into a mess instead and races out of the chapel with Sarah over his shoulder. Foolishly not wearing her Cherokian bracelets, Sarah is unable to summon the powers of [[Saramah Rosechu]] to defend herself. Or due to the fact she is a girl and needs a man to save her, being reduced to a typical 'Sonichu' female.

The guests, apparently nonplussed to see Chris appear in the middle of the chapel and turn into a magic hedgehog, implore him to rescue Sarah. Chris responds by spouting even more collectible card game rhetoric, which somehow rejuvenates him. Chris catches up to Wes, and continues to define their battle in terms of ''Yu-Gi-Oh!'' dueling, even though Wes has no cards, isn't interested in playing, and refuses to "take turns".

Chris eventually uses an extremely convenient and specific card that teleports Sarah out of Wes's dire clutches and into his own, and he speeds back to the church. Wes attempts to stop them, but his attack backfires thanks to the timely interference of [[Sailor Megtune]] and her bulldyke familiar [[Megagi La Skunk]]. Megtune somehow uses a guitar to repel Wes-Li's attacks and defeat him (no word as to whether or not the real Megan plays guitar). Chris goes wild with lust at the sight of her assaulting Wes-Li, raising his health points. Megagi forcefully reminds Chris to finish Wes off and to stop "oogling her maternal creator", although Megtune's attacks have left him lying facefirst in the ground. As a "coup de grace", Chris uses a lightning bolt as a golf club and putts Wes-Li into a black hole, and declares their "duel" to be over, apparently qualifying a 3-on-1 gang stomping as a duel, which is one on one, sometimes two on two.

Afterward, Chris has returned to his human form, apparently loitering at the church and wondering why Megan refuses to even talk to him except by e-mail. Sarah throws him the bridal bouquet as a token of her appreciation of their long friendship.

Chris closes by noting that "catching a bride's bouquet is a sign meaning a strong chance of marriage for you within a few years", failing to realize that this tradition applies to ''women'', whereas the men are supposed to catch the bridal garter thrown by the groom.

===Analysis===
And with that, the main plot that was set up in issue 2 is gone, despite all its build-up, just so Chris can create a new love interest. Wes-Li turning evil is never explained, the artwork is as lazy as ever, and Chris probably never went to the actual wedding.

The rest of the issue sees Chris battle a full-scale invasion of [[CWCville]]. Crystal becomes trapped in the [[Dark Mirror Hole]], a plot twist Chris seems to have devised purely to make himself more sympathetic to Megan in the comic, except that it was an imaginary Megan taking imaginary pity on Chris for the loss of his imaginary twin sister. In spite of the story's notional separation from reality, Chris altered the part where Megan hugs him, probably because of objections by the real Megan.

Episode 13 also features some hilariously ill-conceived retroactive continuity to tone down Chris's none-too-subtle sexualization of Meg-chan. On the original Page 50, Megtune comforts and embraces Chris, expressing her relief that Chris is safe, and apologizing that she couldn't help his sister. Ever the class act, Chris throws in some upskirt fanservice.

There seems to have been some conflict of interests over page 50, and so Chris retconned a disclaimer into page 51 of this version, with Rosechu needlessly assuring the reader that the depicted hug didn't occur in reality:

This seems to imply Chris believes people who read ''Sonichu'' believe it depicts real-life events. No one needs a disclaimer to explain that Megan doesn't wear a {{w|Sailor Soldier}} outfit and fight crime with Sonic recolors all day. Ultimately, Chris scrapped the original page 50 altogether and replaced it with a more passive-aggressive version of Megan's reaction.

Most likely, the revisions occurred shortly after the comic was completed. Chris dates the final page "June 20, 2006". On [[2006#June|June 25]], Megan told Chris to back off, and this was probably marked the beginning of Chris's attempts to modify his portrayal of Megan in the comic to appease her. [[Sonichu 6|''Sonichu'' #6]] would mark Megtune's final appearance in the series, replaced by a plainclothes version of Megan, and as of [[Sonichu 7|''Sonichu'' #7]] she simply is never seen or referred to again. Megagi, however, is kept around at least until the [[Sonichu 9|tenth]] issue, although once Megan is gone Megagi becomes a brainless sex doll as per Chris's ideas about [[Chris and gender|women]]. The once tomboy sailor scout who actually fought crime became reduced to Bionic's cheerleader, cheer outfit, pom-poms and all.

===Synopsis===
In [[CWCville]] Park, a man in a brown uniform attacks a couple before they can have their first kiss. At a coffee shop, a man in a red uniform tasers one of the customers before he can confess his feelings to his true love. Elsewhere in town, a white-uniformed man beats a couple for holding hands, citing the law of [[Mary Lee Walsh]].

As the crisis deepens within the city, its mayor and 'greatest hero' (next to Chris) are goofing off at the [[CWCville Mall|mall]] talking about Chris's love for [[Megan]]. While Chris had complained in Episode 12 that Megan had been standoffish towards him, he seems totally optimistic about his prospects when discussing things with Sonichu. Chris even admits that he stopped using his [[Attraction Sign]] since meeting Megan, a sign of his complete confidence in their relationship. He speaks disparagingly of the Sign, but he would be making use of it again before long.

Finally, [[DJ Jamsta]] (whose job it apparently is) announces over the radio that [[Jerkops]] have invaded [[CWCville]], and pleads for Chris and Sonichu to get off their asses and do something about it. Chris is amazed that his arch-enemy has recovered so quickly from her defeat in [[Sonichu 4|the last issue]], and recalls how he educated the populace to know the difference between CWCville's (absent until this episode) police force and the Jerkops. Surprisingly, Chris has a positive opinion about CWCVille police- possibly because REAL cops would stop him for preying on women at local shops and being a public nuisance, where his version of cops turn a blind eye.

Meanwhile, Mary Lee Walsh has assembled her Jerkop army in a standoff with the CWCville police. Together, she and [[Count Graduon]] wait for Chris to arrive. Their plan is simple: during the battle, Chris will be lured into a certain part of the road, where they have hidden the [[Dark Mirror Hole]]. Once trapped inside the magic mirror, Chris will not only be unable to prevent PVCC's conquest of CWCville, but the immersion of his Medallion in the Dark Mirror will awaken the dormant evil within [[Naitsirhc Giovanni]], although it's unclear whether or not Mary knows this.

In what can only be described as a tactical blunder, Chris orders his police force to evacuate the area and clear out, leaving him and his squad to repel the invaders. Chris summons the [[Chaotic Combo]], [[Rosechu]], and his sister [[Crystal Weston Chandler (sister)|Crystal]], while he transforms into [[Chris-Chan Sonichu]]. *note: before the summon, Rosechu is shopping, Bubble and Angelica were having a tea party, and Crystal was having fun perfume sampling*

Standing united, the nine Electric Hedgehog Pokémon demand that Mary withdraw. Walsh unsurprisingly does not oblige them and summons the giant [[CADD Chef]], Keneru Meneth, to destroy Chris. Chris orders Crystal to help him battle the CADD Chef and sends the rest of his forces to battle the Jerkop Army. Chris's failure to reckon with the power of Walsh and Graduon proves disastrous, as they attack Chris and Crystal, frustrating their efforts to battle the giant robot.

Fortunately, [[Sailor Megtune]] and her butch underling [[Megagi]] arrive to bail their asses out yet again. Megtune defeats the CADD Chef with one blow, yet once again asks Chris to finish it off anyway. Chris and Crystal use their ultimate attack, the [[Chrs-Chan Pure Pulse-Jolt Lance]] to destroy the CADD Chef completely. As Sonichu's forces have made short work of the Jerkops, Chris turns to deal with the remaining threat of Walsh and Graduon.[[File:Page_50_redraw.jpg|thumb|A redraw of the revised version of page 50. Created by Kip on the Discord server.]] But before he can fire the [[Curse-ye-ha-me-ha]], Graduon springs the trap, and Chris sinks into the [[Dark Mirror Hole]]. Only the timely assistance of Crystal and Megtune prevents him from falling all the way in, as they grab his hands to keep him from descending further into the lightless dimension.

As the [[Medallion]] enters the Dark Mirror, [[Naitsirhc Giovanni]] senses Chris's thoughts, and a Black Sonichu [[Medallion]] appears over his chest. Overcome with pain, he undergoes a strange transformation. When [[Black Sonichu]] walks by his room, he mistakes Naitsirhc for Chris and is horrified to see what his master has become.

In CWCville, Mary and Graduon attempt to flip the mirror, causing Megtune and Crystal to trade places with Chris and become trapped in the mirror themselves. Sensing this at the last second, Crystal hurls Megtune clear, so that only she is trapped (possibly the only true act of heroism in the comic that wasn't selfish). Mary quickly collects the Dark Mirror, holding Crystal hostage as Chris and the others look on, powerless to save her. The story continues in Episode 14, featured in [[Sonichu 6]].

'''''Sonichu'' #4''' is the fifth issue of the ''[[Sonichu (comic)|Sonichu]]'' series.

A departure from the previous books in both form and content, ''Sonichu'' #4 is a sort of anthology that consists ''exclusively'' of [[Sub-Episodes]] about [[Chris]]'s [[Love Quest]] and other happenings of his life, which originally appeared at the end of each previous issue. Chris's [[Chris and his Ego|narcissism]] is in full bloom here, as he reprints the first four sub-episodes (from ''Sonichu'' #0 to #3), and adds four more.

Although Chris would not complete [[Sonichu 3|''Sonichu'' #3]] until February [[2006]], he had begun work on the new material in ''Sonichu'' #4. Sub-Episodes 5, 6 and 7 were completed during the summer of [[2005]], and Sub-Episode 8 was at least started by September 2005. Given that the events these stories are based upon happened in the summer of 2005, Chris probably had them forefront on his mind and was able to work more quickly on them than his wretched "Sonichu Babies" plot in [[Sonichu 3|''Sonichu'' #3]].

Chris has stated that [[Barbara Chandler|his mother]] told him to stop making sub-episodes as they loosely depicted unflattering events from Chris's life;<ref>[[Mailbag 3#In which Chris forgets why Barb objects to him immortalizing his failures in comics|Mailbag 3]]: "I stopped drawing those because I made a promise to my mother that I would, but I forget why she was offended by them."</ref> this issue's format may represent an effort to get them all out of the way immediately following her edict. Chris claims to have forgotten the exact reason his mother was offended by the comics, though one imagines it might have had something to do with the fact that her grown son was making comics depicting how he solicited girls for <s>sex</s> relationships at shopping centers, and caused a scene when asked to stop. Or the fact that in one sub-episode Chris is seen "killing" a character depicting [[Mary Lee Walsh|a real person]] (though she appears just fine later on) who he had recently been suspended from [[Piedmont Virginia Community College|college]] for making implied threats towards.

At this point, Chris appeared to cut the pretense and make the series purely about his [[Christian Weston Chandler (comic character)|Mary Sue stand-in]] instead of the [[Sonichu (character)|title character]]. Each episode in the book tells basically the same story: Chris loitering, being confronted by his enemies and then effortlessly defeating them. The book also introduces [[Crystal Weston Chandler (sister)|Crystal Weston Chandler]], Chris's [[Tomgirl|<s>repressed gender dysphoria</s>]] hypothetical twin sister. Sonichu only appears once in the entire issue-Rosechu and a new character, [[Darkbind Sonichu|Darkbind]] also make an appearance in Sub Episode 2 and 4 respectively. Any other Electric-Hedgehog seen is through Chris's limitless powers, with an image of each character he stole powers from (Growth from Wild, Whirlwind from Angelica, etc.).

For almost every episode, there is an edited version, mainly poorly changing real-life names or changing his "curse ye ha me ha" attack by one word. Or he changes scenes entirely several years after publishing.

Reprinted from [[Sonichu 0|''Sonichu'' #0]], the episode opens with Chris moping around Mal-Wart, complaining about how he has no girlfriend because of all the [[JERKS|men]] taking pretty girls from him. The [[Jerkhief]] rightfully accuses Christian of solicitation and grows tired of Chris's whining for a girlfriend. This forces Chris to transform into [[Chris-chan Sonichu]] and defend himself with the dreaded [[Curse-ye-ha-me-ha]] after having Jerkops attempt to cuff him.

In the edited version, the attack is known as Shin-ye-ha-me-ha.

Note: In this episode, Chris utters the phrase "Fuzzy Wuzzies get you hugs- Prickly Wicklies get you slugs" He then points out how the Jerkhief dealt him a slug, which should make Chris come to his senses and realize his awful "prickly wickly" behavior

But seeing how this is Chris, he forgets this and decides that a slug equals a mary-sue attack that ruins innocent lives.

When this episode first appeared in Sonichu 0, Chris had not yet received his powers, it wouldn't be until [[Sonichu_2#Episode_7:_Sonichu_in_.22Anchuent_Prophecy.22|Issue 2 Episode 7]] he would get power in the medallion.

The episode opens with Chris further moping about and on a break from his quest to eat eight chicken McNuggets. Christian meets [[Hanna]], who asks him out for coffee. All we learn of the girl is that she enjoys reading Chuck Palahniuk and plays guitar, also working at an unknown store. Chris spends most of the 'Date' talking about himself and showing off his Sonichu Scrapbook, ending the date by giving her a "double-take flirt" and calling his family. Meanwhile, Rosechu is off spreading the news of Chris having a date, since that appears to be breaking news that [[Bubbles Rosechu|every]] [[Wild Sonichu|citizen]] must know. While planning his next interaction with Hanna with help from a [[Sprung|dating sim game]], Chris learns from [[Rosechu]] that Hanna is trolling him. She finds this out after using her woman powers to overhear gossip among Hanna and her co-workers- while her friends ask her about Chris, feeding his ego by asking if he's dreamy and if they hear bells, Hanna reveals that it was a joke set up by the "boss".

Chris ends with a passive-aggressive email to Hanna- telling her it wasn't okay that she pranked him, but tells her she's very attractive and willing to give her a second chance, as long as she doesn't [[Tobacky|smoke]] and is boy-friend free. For no reason, he mentions he graduated with [[Honor Roll|High Honors]] from school.

In the edited version, Hanna is known as "Fandanna", and the full page scene where Chris declares his love quest over changed from a rainbow explosion background to a more anime-looking Chris in front of a heaven background. Some versions will combine edits with the original.

It should also be noted that the only Electric Hedgehogs known at the time of first publishing were Sonichu, Rosechu, and Blake- however, Rosechu is seen calling Bubbles and Wild, who would not be known by the team until [[Sonichu_3#Episode_11:_The_Chaotic_Combo_in_.22When_Hedgehogs_Meet.22|Sonichu 3 episode 11]]. It could be assumed she met them at the mall or knew them beforehand, but the Chaotic Combo never knew other Electric Hedgehogs existed until they coincidentally bumped into one another.

Christian as Chris-Chan breaks into [[Mary Lee Walsh]]'s lair as she poorly rips off ''Macbeth'''s "Double Double" line, attempting to put an end to her heart shattering (mainly for himself) and <s>parodies</s> rips off Sailor Moon. After a brief fight, she overpowers him and learns his secret identity. Before she can deal the finishing blow, [[Sonichu (character)|Sonichu]] (in a rare cameo) has to bail him out. Christian loiters at a [[McDonald's]] for so long that he is attacked by no fewer than three [[manajerk]]s. Chris mentions how he got his anime-wings from a previous con. As he transforms to Chris-Chan Sonichu, the wings magically attach to his head, making him Super Chris-Chan Sonichu, giving him the ability of flight. First appearance of DarkBind Sonichu, who has magically summoned only to aide Chris, sidetracking him from his own quest to reawaken <s>Princess Zelda</s> Princess Zelina Rosechu. Darkbind's powers consist of sword fighting and plagiarizing Monty Python. After defeating Merried Senor Comic and the Jerkhief, Darkbind runs off as Chris deals a long-winded speech on how he is above the law and only holds the sign and loiters since women are too busy shopping to notice him, saying he is allowed to go where he wants when he wants. The comic ends on a cliffhanger as a new challenger approaches.

Continuing from [[Sub-Episode 4]], the [[W-M-Manajerk]] immediately blasts [[Chris]] into a soda fountain, drenching him with [[CWC Cola|cola]]. In an unprecedented moment, Chris suddenly decides that he needs to bathe and "smell like a [[Axe|Flower]]", and takes a "CWC" shower [[Chris and health|that lasts exactly three seconds]] (he seems to think this is impressive). Christian charges W-M, but he catches our hero and holds him high in the air. Just as Chris is wondering if anything can defeat W-M-Manajerk, his ancestor, the [[ancient leader of the Cherokee Clan]], appears before him with advice concerning Chris's [[Heart Torch]]:

Christian realizes that his ancestor is referring to the twin sister he has dreamed of having and has depicted in his homemade ''[[Yu-Gi-Oh!]]'' cards. Emulating [[Wild Sonichu]]'s power of growth, Chris momentarily [[obesity|grows so large that he breaks loose of the Manajerk's grip]], and lands on the opposite side of the restaurant from his Pixelblock-Heart Torch. Dashing past enemy fire, he retrieves the totem, and summons [[Crystal Weston Chandler (sister)|Crystal Weston Chandler]] into reality. Seeing that Crystal has a Rosechu medallion, Chris realizes that she possesses the same [[Anchuent Prophecy|anchuent powers]] as he does (he would later shoehorn her into the prophecy and damage the retroactive continuity yet more), and they transform into [[Chris-Chan Sonichu]] and [[Crystalina Rosechu]].

Together they assault the W-M-Manajerk with Mirror Coat, Reflect and Double Corkscrew Kick. Once he is down, they finish the job by combining Chris's [[Curse-ye-ha-me-ha]] and Crystalina's Shocking Tiara Magic to decapitate him. It is only after they separate W-M-Manajerk's head from his body that they realize he can survive in this state, nonchalantly confirming that their intent was to murder him. While [[B-Manajerk]] and [[Merried Seinor Comic]] decide they should retreat, Crystal takes the time to rant about how he's intruding on her brother's [[Love Quest]] and that how he could never know true love due to his lack of a heart, among [[Pickle|other things]]. Eventually, even Chris gets tired of his imaginary sister's bullshit and cuts her off- which is hypocritical since Chris and Sonichu are both known to go on long page-covering tirades, mainly about how Chris is above the law-before having W-M-Manajerk confess (unprompted) that he is from the [[Private Villa of Corrupted Citizens]] and that he was sent by [[Mary Lee Walsh]]. Christian and Crystal decide to punt the disembodied head back to PVCC, where it strikes Walsh on the head, knocking her unconscious, followed by some hilarious [[Random-access humor|word play]] at the expense of a concussion.

It's during this profile that he mentions that a Jerkop's badge is just a {{w|Graham cracker|graham cracker}} painted yellow. The Jerkhief's, however, is made of wood. Somehow, this is supposed to explain the Jerkhief's "delicious" wooden badge on the cover.

He then relates an incident in which he was hanging out with his [[gal pal]]s when a "tribe of jerkops," led by the Jerkhief, harass them. In the story, Chris stands his ground; however, the battle is interrupted by [[Crystal Weston Chandler (character)|Crystal]], emerging from a changing room in a new outfit. With the jerkops dazed by her ravishing beauty, Chris gets an idea to channel [[Magi-Chan]]'s powers to telekinetically disarm all the jerkops and arrange them like bowling pins, so that he can use the Jerkhief like a bowling ball. But first, he makes a long, boring speech:

Chris concludes his documentary by explaining how the jerkops use a hypno-gun to brainwash slow-minded persons to their cause, thereby replenishing their numbers. While watching the conclusion of the program, [[Scotpalazzo]] decides to order more jerkops from PVCC to oppose Christian.

A flashback reveals how Christian and [[Saramah Rosechu]] defeated Mary Lee Walsh some months ago; [[Graduon]] vows to destroy Christian with the strongest, most evil villain ever.

In the present day, Walsh and Graduon give [[Bagget]] his first assignment, to attack Christian at the [[Get-Tar Region]], Chris's new "watering hole" for boyfriend-free girls- complete with [[Obesity|$1 sodas with unlimited refills]]. While listening to his Nintendo DS music and drawing, he is confronted by two Jerkops, who are aware of him being kicked out of Mal-Wart and want him to leave. Chris summons Angelica's whirlwind powers to blow them away (Gust would have been the better move- since Whirlwind would most likely require movement on Chris's part). Using a squad of jerkops and his [[Transformers|Change-Bot]] Crackder, Bagget defeats Chris. Bagget's success is less a matter of his superior skill or strategy than the fact that for once no one arrives in the nick of time to rescue Chris--Crystal is unable to fight through the crowd of shoppers to help. In the cliffhanger, Crackder drops Chris from a dizzying height of at least ten feet.

Continuing from Sub-Episode 7, Chris's fall is broken by Crystal's telekinetic powers. The jerkops decide to dog-pile on Chris, hog-tying him and going out of their way to give him severe carpet burns on his face. As Crystal watches on, inexplicably helpless to act, Chris is ferried away by Crackder to PVCC, marking the first time the villains have ever actually subdued ''and'' captured him.

While Crystal tracks Bagget as [[Crystalina Rosechu]], Chris is presented before Mary Lee Walsh, trussed on a silver platter with an apple in his mouth. After pointlessly re-enacting the trial scene from ''{{w|The Transformers: The Movie}}'', Walsh and the Jerkhief drop Chris in a vat of indeterminate liquid. Chris is finally rescued by Crystalina, who saves him from falling into... something, and battles Walsh's forces singlehandedly. Instead of showing Crystalina fighting the evil, Chris takes this time to mope to himself that is he still without a girlfriend. Without the power to help his sister, Christian experiences another vision of his ancestor, who offers words of encouragement. Due to Crystalina being a girl, she cannot fight the forces on her own, causing her to channel her energy to Chris and re-energize him. Finally able to transform into [[Chris-Chan Sonichu]], Chris and his sister form up as [[Chrs-Chan Pure]] and use the [[Chrs-Chan Pure Pulse-Jolt Lance]] to destroy the crystal ball maintaining Walsh's control of PVCC. Walsh and Graduon escape to [[Manchester High School]] to rebuild their power base.

The '''Idea Guys''' were a group of trolls who exploited [[Christian Weston Chandler|Chris]]'s escapist fantasies by role-playing as his [[imaginary friends]], used that infuence to [[List of beliefs brainwashed into Chris|brainwash]] him, and are alleged to have blackmailed and extorted him out of $6,000 by threatening to destroy his imaginary city [[CWCville]]. Beginning with Joshua Wise in [[October 2017]], at some point Stephen Boyd and at least three anonymous followers partnered with him until the group was ousted in [[April 2018]].

Initially, their aim was to see how [[Naïve|gullible]] Chris was, but this soon degenerated into taking advantage of him financially and coercing him into performing many degrading acts, including some that put [[BlueSpike]] to shame. In the process, they managed to somehow make Chris become [[Chris and reality|even more delusional]] than he already was, all while planting some of their own twisted ideas into Chris's mind.

This abuse prompted a group composed of [[The Captain]], [[Marvin]] and later [[Null]], dubbed the [[Guard Dogs]], to work together to dismantle the Idea Guys' schemes and push for them to face legal action. Thanks to their efforts, the Idea Guys' link to Chris was cut by late [[April 2018]]. However, authorities never looked into the matter.

Despite their removal, the Idea Guys' potent hold over Chris has led to lasting effects. To this day, Chris has retained many of the concepts they had influenced him into believing, such as changes to ''Sonichu'' canon, a [[polyamorous marriage]], and the [[Dimensional Merge]]. Furthermore, in their wake, waves of fantasy [[enablers]] began appearing, copying their tactics to get an audience with Chris, with many succeeding. As such, the Idea Guys have effectively had the greatest impact on Chris's psyche and personal life out of any trolls since the days of [[The Miscreants]] and are objectively the most successful trolls in that regard.

==Background==
Chris's fantasy world had been ripe for exploitation in the lead-up to the Idea Guys' interactions with him. Years before, the [[Asperpedia Four]] manipulated Chris into killing off [[Simonla Rosechu]] in the comics. The [[Miscreants]] had also told Chris to name a character [[Vulva Pie]] - when he found out what the word meant, he was upset that he had been tricked but felt obligated to maintain Vulva Pie's name in canon. Furthermore, Chris's reliance on his fantasy world as a [[coping]] mechanism for his real-world life had been increasing, evidenced when he believed he was [[dancing with Magi-Chan]], one of his [[imaginary friends]], during the 2017 [[BronyCon]], which occurred only one month prior to Joshua Wise beginning contact with him.

Outside of Chris's fantasies becoming increasingly prominent, Chris's real life was becoming more volatile. The [[Financhu Crisis]] continued to go on, with Chris taking up working on [[Sonichu (comic)|the ''Sonichu'' comic]] more often to gain additional funding through [[Patreon]]. Chris's emotional state could also have been compromised from other life events such as his breakup with [[Jessica Quinn]], as she had been in contact with Chris for a long time and had him believing they would meet up in real life (although Chris's appeared largely back to normal in the weeks between the Quinn breakup and the beginning of Wise's manipulations, having resumed the comic, posting on Twitter and being interviewed).

In September 2017, Joshua Wise contacted Chris to commission artwork.<ref name=tcce></ref> With the two in contact, Wise decided to see for himself Chris's gullibility.<ref>[[Idea Guy Q&A#Red Forest clip]]</ref> In late [[October 2017]], he again contacted Chris, posing as '''John Yamada'''. As "Yamada", Wise claimed to be a soldier from Gamindustri - a location set in the franchise ''[[Hyperdimension Neptunia]]'' - and inquired if Chris still had his old Sega Dreamcast console, telling him it contained a possible portal into [[CWCville]].<ref name=comicyamada>[[:File:Sonichu 16 page-3.JPG]]</ref><ref name=gullibility>[[Idea Guy Q&A#Gullibility]]</ref> Wise used the lore from ''Neptunia'' to play into Chris's existing preconceptions about [[reality]] and [[Alec Benson Leary Phone Call 2|his belief that fictional worlds exist in alternate dimensions]], giving him validation over those beliefs, which primed Chris for falling under Wise's spell and eventually encouraged him to retreat further into his fantasy world to cope with his real world problems.

The key component of Wise's schemes was role-playing as various entities, including Chris's own [[imaginary friends]] and goddesses from ''[[Hyperdimension Neptunia]]''. By December 2017, Wise was role-playing as at least 13 different characters to Chris, including his persona John Yamada and numerous ''Neptunia'' characters.<ref name=religionswitch>[[Idea Guy Q&A#Chris abandons Christianity for Neptunia]]</ref> Chris was so entranced under Wise's tactics that he believed it when Wise role-played as the Chris of [[CWCville]] and told him he had converted to Satanism.<ref name=pretend>[[Idea Guy Q&A#Pretending to be Chris to Chris, religion in CWCville]]</ref> Chris believed the entities were borrowing John Yamada's computer to communicate with him across dimensions.<ref>[[Idea Guy Q&A#Rosechu is trans]]</ref>

To accompany the role-playing, Wise also crafted storylines, heavily inspired from video games, designed to infiltrate Chris's beliefs, such as ''Payday 2'' antagonist [[Akan]] attacking CWCville and kidnapping Chris's imaginary friend [[Silvana]],<ref>[[November 2017 Facebook posts#Silvana is captured]]</ref> and CWCville being occupied by Russians and [[Nazis]]. Wise also utilized doctored audio clips, such as [[Red Forest]], and photoshopped images, which "John Yamada" presented to Chris as documents from CWCville and Gamindustri.

After convincing Chris of his persona John Yamada's ability to access [[CWCville]]'s dimension, Idea Guy Wise began to manipulate Chris's beliefs and insert his own ideas. He also undermined Chris's attempts to restore his fantasy world; as Wise put it: "Chris thinks he has a psychic link to Cwcville, but every time he tries to change a scenario to his will, I always say it fucks up and makes things worse."<ref name=jamstajail></ref>

For example, in December 2017, Wise told Chris that [[Jamsta]] had been arrested for molesting [[Punchy]] and Tails. Chris, not liking this development, tried to have Jamsta acquitted. He tried using his psychic link to CWCville to convince the judge to acquit Jamsta, but Wise countered by telling Chris that the judge didn't believe him since he had stepped down as mayor. In another example, Wise role-played as the Chris of CWCville and claimed to be a Satanist, and that Atheism, ''Neptunia'', and Islam were the main beliefs of CWCville, as Christianity had been forgotten after he had stepped down as mayor. The real-world Chris reacted to this information by saying [[Angelica]] would enforce Christianity again, and Wise countered by telling him Angelica became a Satanist and more people were converting to Islam.<ref name=pretend></ref>

Chris was also so suggestible under Wise's influence that at times Wise would float an idea and Chris's imagination would run wild with the concept. When Wise's John Yamada persona first contacted Chris, he used lore from the ''[[Hyperdimension Neptunia]]'' video game franchise to say that Chris's Sega Dreamcast console possibly contained a portal into CWCville. Following a comment from Wise's Yamada persona on Nazis and Satanic powers, Chris believed his past CWCville counterpart had been kidnapped by Nazis and given Satanic powers.<ref name=suggestible>[[Idea Guy Q&A#Suggestible Chris]]</ref> Wise, pushing further, told the real-world Chris his past counterpart had abolished [[women's rights]] to enable his [[Love Quest]] and that he had helped the Nazis win World War 2. The Idea Guys influenced and brainwashed into Chris [[:Category:Concepts influenced by Idea Guy|many alterations to his fantasy world]] including his [[imaginary friends]] and his imaginary city [[CWCville]]. These include [[Wild Sonichu]] becoming a drug addict, the creation of [[Bundychu]] (who befriends the spirit of Chris's late father), [[Brendan Fraser]] being elected the mayor of CWCville, and several other concepts.

They also pushed his fantasy escapism further away from reality. Chris, who had been believing he could interact with imaginary friends prior to the Idea Guys, such as when he [[Dancing with Magi-Chan|danced with Magi-Chan in public]], had his beliefs validated and encouraged by the Idea Guys.

In [[December 2017]], Wise told Chris that ''Hyperdimension Neptunia'' goddess Neptune would be waiting to meet him at a GameStop; Chris decided to go to the Forest Lakes location (from which he [[List of places that have banned Chris|had been banned]]) and waited outside in [[Son-Chu|his car]], honking his horn and shouting her name, and then peered inside the store and scanned the interior looking for her.<ref>[[Idea Guy Q&A#Chris went to a GameStop to meet a Neptunia goddess]]</ref>

In [[January 2018]], Chris believed that imaginary friends [[Magi-Chan]] and his father figure and mentor, [[Mewtwo]], had gotten married in a "loving [[Chris and English|triage]]" with [[Silvana]].<ref name=gaymarriage>[[January 2018 Facebook posts‎‎#Mewtwo and Magi-Chan married]]</ref> Two months later, the Idea Guys pushed further and got Chris to believe he married Magi-Chan and became a part of the [[polyamorous marriage]]. The Idea Guys also used their influence to trick Chris into exercising. The Idea Guys also left a heavy influence on the ''Sonichu'' comic and its canon - and by extension, Chris's imaginary friends. Many details were revised by Chris following the lore they laid out, such as Sonichu's birthdate (switched to 4/20, both a reference to Adolf Hitler's birthdate and to marijuana), the date of the [[rainbow]] which created Sonichu (changed to 1 February 2003, a reference to the Columbia Space Shuttle disaster), and [[Magi-Chan]]'s age (changed to 69 years old, a sexual reference).

They also affected plot points and the direction of the comic from ''[[Sonichu 12-9|Sonichu #12-9]]'' onwards. This can be seen in ''Sonichu #12-9'' (which Chris worked on before, during, and after the Idea Guys were in power) - its plot veers sharply from Chris's interests, to the Idea Guys', then back again to Chris's. The following issue, ''[[Sonichu 13|Sonichu #13]]'' (or ''The Awakening of a CPU'', as titled by Chris), represents the Idea Guys' influence over him in comic form. It features a story on how Wise's John Yamada persona came to influence Chris over the idea of his Sega Dreamcast containing a portal to [[CWCville]]. In a page-and-a-half wall of text, Chris summarizes his adventures with Yamada and the ''Hyperdimension Neptunia'' cast, and the salvation of Gamindustri and CWCville from the invaders. The rest of ''Sonichu 13'' covers an incoherent series of plot threads over the topics the Idea Guys had brainwashed into Chris.

The [[Dimensional Merge]], a key influence to Chris's escapist habits, is thought to originate from the Idea Guys, though no chatlogs pertaining to it were publicly released, and the first public mention to it by Chris occurred months after their ousting. A small clue is in the Merge's start date being 18 November 2018<ref>https://twitter.com/CWCSonichu/status/1064201575994982400</ref> - the 40th anniversary of the {{w|Jonestown}} Mass Suicide - which aligns with the Idea Guys inserting dates of infamous historical events into ''Sonichu'' canon. Midway through November 2017, Chris's content began to include references designed to go over his head. On 14 November, he wrote that imaginary friend [[Silvana]] had been captured by [[Akan|a Russian billionaire]], and posted a photo of the soldier who would be rescuing her. This was recognized by spectators as a reference to the politically incorrect "Remove Kebab" internet meme. The soldier was to be part of [[Operation BARBarossa]], which consisted of historical references to World War 2. That same day, in what Wise termed "the first true exercise of trust",<ref>[[Idea Guy Q&A#Influencing Sonichu 12-9]]</ref> Chris recorded [[Freestyle Dance With Me, For Our World!]] while wearing a tinfoil hat to prevent "the man" from reading his mind. On 11 December, Chris performed a supposed "[[Cherokean Chant]]", which in fact involved mimicking the "squatting Slav" meme and reciting Internet meme quotes from the ''S.T.A.L.K.E.R.'' video game series, all while [[Alcohol|drunk on half a fifth of vodka]].

Chris was also tricked into writing [[Bob Walks In Aftermath|edgy jokes in foreign languages]]. In November 2017, Chris posted artwork featuring [[Sailor Moon]] characters conversing with his CWCville counterpart; he was actually tricked into writing "I am carrying a penis", among other things, in Japanese.<ref>[[November 2017 Patreon posts#Chris writes about dicks, thinks it's his signature]]</ref> The drawing may have been the earliest instance of Wise's trickery, as it was dated 18 October 2017, falling in between Wise's initial contact and the debut of his John Yamada persona. In December, more art was posted,<ref>[[December 2017 Facebook posts#"Translated" Sailor Moon drawings]]</ref> this one featuring the [[Wikipedia:Meine Ehre heißt Treue|SS motto]] as well as German lines from the video games ''Brothers in Arms'' and ''Wolfenstein: The New Order''. Chris also tried to write the "signature" line again, although he accidentally wrote it with a typo. The German translations in particular put Chris's [[naïve|naïveté]] on full display, with some of the German dialogue featuring words such as "Zebra", "Evolution" and "Universum", which are similar or identical to English counterparts that are obviously absent in the supposed translations. A January 2018 post congratulating [[Magi-Chan]] and [[Mewtwo]] on tying the knot also contained Swedish text giving a shout-out to [[Kiwi Farms]].<ref name=gaymarriage></ref>

The manipulation of Chris over his fantasy world gradually escalated. In [[January 2018]], Wise role-played as [[Nazis]] and led Chris to believe they had bugged his [[Christine Doll]]. Chris retaliated by destroying it in [[Smashing]]. Days later, Chris also destroyed his miniature Christmas tree in [[Get Out, You D*** Nazis]].

By [[April 2018]], the Idea Guys had a sadistic hold over Chris's beliefs. In [[Cryzel Torture]], one of the leaked chatlogs from late that month, Wise role-played as ''Sword Art Online'' character Pitohui and graphically described torturing Chris's imaginary wife, [[Cryzel]], for several hours, with Boyd providing backup.

According to [[The Captain]], at some point, Boyd told Chris to punch his mother. The Captain stated that, "There is no video or photographic evidence of Chris punching his mother.

In a private chat with Wise, Chris claims that he punched his mother at Boyd's insistence for failing a quiz or some shit like that. Chris states to Wise that Boyd told him to "Punch your mother" and Chris claims to Wise that he did it."<ref>{{cite farms|thread=41369|post=3563096}}</ref>

The [[Guard Dogs]] alleged that the Idea Guys managed to extort $6,000 worth of gift cards, video games, and other accessories from Chris by threatening to destroy his imaginary city [[CWCville]]: not only that, Boyd also demanded $20,000,<ref name=bad></ref> or else he would report Chris as a pedophile to the FBI.<ref name=tcce></ref> Guard Dog [[The Captain]] also stated that the Idea Guys had "forced Chris to record a series of videos to his Google Drive [...] in order to use them as leverage against him in the future," which included content such as [[Tour of Chris's House III]], [[Chris slaps himself]], and an unreleased two-hour video of Chris reacting to "grotesque pornography".<ref name=tcce></ref>

The Idea Guys, while role-playing as fictional characters, had convinced Chris they had the means to destroy CWCville. Wise, posing as anime series ''Symophogear'' villain Finé - whose backstory involves being the creator of a particle-ion cannon titled Kadingir with the capability to destroy the moon<ref>https://symphogear.fandom.com/wiki/Kadingir</ref> - claimed that the destroyed moon chunks would then fall onto CWCville. Idea Guy Boyd, posing as Gwen Mikoto, affirmed Wise's claims and also threatened to erase the dimension in which CWCville resides by nuking it.<ref name=bad></ref>

To pay off the Idea Guys, Chris raised money from [[eBay]] sales of his toys and pieces of the Chandler hoard. Guard Dog [[The Captain]] stated that the Idea Guys "were telling him what to sell/urging him to dig through more boxes, etc. in an effort to find things to hawk on eBay to make money for them."<ref>https://kiwifarms.net/threads/financhu-crisis-chris-sells-his-stuff-megathread.41369/post-3675397</ref> In addition, $1,200 gifted to him from [[Jack Jankowski]], meant to go towards attending [[BronyCon 2018]], was sent to the Idea Guys. Though this were not enough to satisfy their demands, as in April 2018, Chris withheld a [[14 Branchland Court#Mortgage|mortgage payment]], putting the Chandlers at severe risk of losing their home.<ref>[[WE NEED MONEY FOR MORTGAGE NOW, PLEASE]]</ref>

Chris kept each of the invoices and receipts from the transactions he made for the Idea Guys. The Guard Dogs received screencaps and photos of the receipts, hoping to use the items as evidence in an official investiation; when that fell through, Guard Dog Null posted them publicly to the Kiwi Farms forum.<ref name=tcce></ref>

Chris's social media output over the next few months gradually indicated that he was under manipulation. The public, uncertain over whether it was Wise again, referred to the resurgence as "Idea Guy 2.0", and it was later alleged by the Guard Dogs that Wise was part of it.

In April 2018, [[The Captain]] was informed by people close to Chris that they suspected he was being manipulated and extorted. In that same month, the Idea Guys forced Chris to sell his [[Amnyfest Ring]] on [[eBay]] - the buyer was The Captain. Borrowing from the Idea Guys' tactics, The Captain used the ring as a tool to gain Chris's trust by playing into his fantasies, role-playing about [[Magi-Chan]]<ref>The Captain's Kiwi Farms posts [https://kiwifarms.net/threads/financhu-crisis-chris-sells-his-stuff-megathread.41369/post-3767203 here] (archive: https://archive.fo/cIVI0) and [https://kiwifarms.net/threads/financhu-crisis-chris-sells-his-stuff-megathread.41369/page-142#post-3766239 here] (archive: https://archive.fo/ZJ1fB), and Chris's perspective from [[Sonichu 13]]'s epilogue</ref> and telling him the ring was sending him messages that the [[CPUs]] (personas used by the Idea Guys) were hacked and not to be trusted.

Trusting The Captain, Chris gave him direct access to his accounts, including [[Discord]], so The Captain could "scan for viruses".

Null contacted the Greene County sheriff, local to Chris, to discuss the matter but the sheriff interpreted things as a matter of choice from Chris. Null also contacted the FBI, as the alleged extortion occurred across state lines, both through their online contact form and also by handing a copy to an FBI agent. Chris later took a printed copy of Null's report to his local police station and turned it in. However, there have been no signs of an investigation as Null and Chris were not contacted back.<ref name=tcce></ref>

Despite the Idea Guys being removed from power in [[April 2018]], the damage to Chris’s sense of reality has lingered, as their actions gave him a sense of validation and boosted his confidence in his pre-existing beliefs about [[dimensions]] and psychically linking with his [[imaginary friends]].

Chris, though aware of the Idea Guys’ malevolence, continues to believe in many of the concepts they had instilled into him – the most notable being the [[Dimensional Merge]], which he believes will magically solve the [[Financhu Crisis]] and bring [[CWCville]]/[[C-197]] and all fictional characters to life; and lore from video game series ''[[Hyperdimension Neptunia]]'', in particular CPU goddesses, which crystalized into Chris believing he is [[CPU Blue Heart]]. On 3 August 2018, Chris posted [[Sonichu 13#Epilogue|an epilogue to ''Sonichu 13'']], which offered clues as to why he maintains belief in the Idea Guys' lore. In it, he stated that Wise's "slanderous, destructive efforts only strengthened my own psychic links with [[C-197|our world, there]]." To Chris, the Idea Guys had been "royally messing" with not only him, but also "literally" the Earth, [[Equestria]] and the CPU goddesses. Chris stated his belief that Wise "has his own link and grasp of out [sic] world there" and that he ultimately restored [[CWCville]] and released the CPU goddesses from Wise's control.

Guard Dog [[Marvin]] posted on Kiwi Farms on his opinion of Chris's continued belief in the Idea Guys' canon:

That would make him feel really uneasy about the possible reality of his imaginary world.

Chris, in June 2021, stated that the Idea Guys made his Top 5 list of people who made the most negative impacts on his life (alongside [[Jacob Sockness]], [[Michael Snyder]], [[BlueSpike]], and the staff at [[Nathanael Greene Elementary School]]). Though Chris blamed the Idea Guys "for their "Dimensions’ level of damage", he gave credit to them for validating his beliefs. The ringleader of the Idea Guys, Joshua Wise, signed up to [[Kiwi Farms]] under the name Ballzymaker94, and had several private conversations with select users, soliciting feedback over his early schemes.

One user from the [[Kiwi Farms]] had a lengthy conversation with Wise, spanning from 3 December to 18 December 2017, archived in the [[Idea Guy Q&A]]. In it, Wise discusses how he had gained Chris’s trust, how Chris reacted to some of his ideas and mentions content which had not been publicly released, such as Chris wanting intel on whether [[Jessica Quinn]] was actually a troll, how Chris tried to prevent [[Jamsta]] from being jailed for molestation and Chris’s attempts to interact with Neptunia goddesses.

Wise also briefly conversed with other members of the forum, archived in [[Misc Idea Guy chats]]. After he was doxed by the site's moderators on 22 January 2018, many users came forward to post content and conversations that he had shared with them.

He hadn't shared all of his content over PMs, generally only summarizing his interactions with Chris. After he was exposed, he offered to trade in all of his information in exchange for the moderators removing the dox of his family members. They refused on the grounds that they disliked his public trolling output and believed the dox would be an incentive for him to stay away from Chris,<ref name=sneasel></ref> a message which Wise ignored.

On 22 January 2018, moderators at [[Kiwi Farms]] decided to dox Joshua Allen Wise, known on the forum as Ballzymaker94, as being the original Idea Guy. This came two days after the release of [[Get Out, You D*** Nazis]], which most posters rightfully assumed had been made unwillingly. With his doxing, Kiwi Farms users began digging through Wise's online presence, finding posts on the forum and Reddit in which he [[White knight|white knighted]] himself from criticism. He also attempted to publicize his Idea Guy content in other communities. For example, in one post from 20 January 2018, he writes:<ref name=wiseposts></ref>

The [[Guard Dogs]] alleged that Wise hadn't stopped in spite of being doxxed and at some point invited in more partners - one being Stephen Boyd, who went by the name NinFreakLan on Kiwi Farms.<ref name=tcce></ref> Prior to being ousted and exposed, Boyd participated in threads speculating on the identity of the supposed "Idea Guy 2.0". When it was noted that this supposed new troll had begun trolling only a day after Wise had been doxxed, Boyd responded:

Because of the discovery of his involvement, it seems extremely likely that Boyd only became involved after Wise had been exposed. Leaked private messages to other Kiwi Farms members seem to indicate that Wise had been searching for a partner in crime; Boyd may have noticed and reached out. Perhaps unsurprisingly, after Wise was doxxed, Boyd began white knighting him, comparing his trolling to [[Man in the Pickle Suit|Marvin]] and [[Clyde Cash]].<ref name=boydposts></ref> Stephen wouldn't be exposed himself until six months later.

The other two Idea Guys mentioned by the Guard Dogs are unknown, as both were said to have contributed very little to the overall manipulation. The only known information about them is that one is Canadian and has a Kiwi Farms handle named de_DEVIL_tails,<ref name=tcce></ref> and the other is a gay Chinese man who was apparently in a long distance relationship with Wise.<ref>https://kiwifarms.net/threads/random-thoughts-questions.49854/post-4014256</ref> In July 2021, a third Idea Guy surfaced to release the [[Gruppenfuhrer Fegelein chat]].
