==ED discovers Chris==

In late October 2007, Chris drew the attention of the folks in a forum at [[Wikipedia:Something Awful|Something Awful]], a comedy website. Shortly thereafter, the good people at [[4chan]] also trained their lasers on Chris. Topics of discussion included his [[Sonichu (comic)|Sonichu comic]], his [[CWC's Sonichu Site!|website]], and his [[MySpace]] page. [[Anna]]'s blog story, "[[The Tale Of The Crazy Pacer]]," was also uncovered. The wealth of information and its lulzworthiness prompted the Anon later known as [[Jason Kendrick Howell]] to create the original Chris-chan page on Encyclopedia Dramatica, on 3 November 2007. Within two years it underwent over 5,000 revisions and became arguably the most popular page on the site.<ref>[[Jason Kendrick Howell interview]]</ref>

==Chris discovers ED==

Almost immediately, Chris discovered his ED page, during what he called "the worst weekend of my life."<ref>[[Chris emails 2007#November]]</ref> He was horrified by the explicit fan art, what he would later call "Dark Parodic Shit."<ref>[[June 2012 Facebook posts#Dark parodic shit]]</ref> He was especially enraged by the inclusion of a recent photo of himself, surreptitiously taken at [[The Game Place]] by [[Mimms]] and uploaded to 4chan by [[Lucas]].<ref>[[Mimms and Lucas Q&A]]</ref> "A hacking terrorist group, Anonymous, and 4Chan are somehow involved in that page as well," he intoned.

Chris's initial response to this character assassination was civil. He uploaded a [[Chris Chan's Public Announcement|video]] on 7 November, addressed to ED, requesting that the page be removed on the grounds that it misinterpreted his noble and innocent person. Within a few days, however, he opted to take efforts to personally delete or [[List of Christian's edits to Encyclopedia Dramatica|edit]] the page.

After a considerable amount of bitching, Chris posted this gem on the ED talk page:

Trying another angle, Chris also encouraged ED to muster as his personal army to go after [[Joshua Martinez]]. Obviously, nobody did what he asked<ref>http://web.archive.org/web/20080227084345/http://www.encyclopediadramatica.com/index.php?title=Chris-chan&oldid=1997409947</ref> He also tried to create a page on ED for his "CCWC's Fanart of Horrors" (see: [[troll]] art), but a sysop immediately caught it and redirected it to an anti-Semitic template.

Chris's meddling with ED was a key reason for the destruction of his relationship with [[Megan]]. On 11 [[November 2007]], in an attempt to "shove so much information down their throats and drown them into taking the page down," Chris uploaded five pornographic drawings to his ED page, including the infamous [[ShecameforCWC.JPG]]. When Megan found out about the drawing in [[March 2008]], it was the final straw. Chris made more furious efforts to scrub the images from ED, but to no avail. Of course, Chris [[CWC's Second Message|blamed ED for all of this]].

By late summer [[2008]], Chris had largely given up on direct involvement with ED. Around the spring of [[2009]], he may have posted one or two comments on the ED talk page referring to [[Clyde Cash]]. The first is below. It was deleted fairly quickly.

According to Clyde, the above entry was deleted after roughly a minute, probably due to Chris realizing that if he were to ever arrange to meet Clyde, he'd only send his parents anyway.

On April Fools' Day 2009, the Chris-chan article was taken down and replaced with a message.

For several months prior to the events of the [[BlueSpike]] saga in early 2009, many thought that Chris had dried up, that Chris could go no further. The [[Blanca Weiss#FCTC|FCTC]]'s posting of new pics of Chris's bent [[duck]] in December 2008 prompted an ED admin to lock the talk page and demand satisfaction.<ref>"MINE: What this talkpage is. For a while, the ED page was crammed with misinformation, such as the claim that Chris had attempted to molest [[Patti]], or the idea that Ivy was really [[Kimmi|the blowup doll]]. These rumors were occasionally cleaned out, but trolls and general observers of Chris have since turned to [[CWCki]] to get a more accurate and less biased picture of Chris. TV Tropes once described the CWCki as being "''more accurate and slightly more SFW''" than ED.

As for Chris himself, the ED page bothered him for years, and presumably still does, but he rarely mentions it anymore. An [[Chris chan (CWCipedia)|entire page]] of Chris's website, established in [[December 2009]], was dedicated to "correcting" the evil ED article with his own True and Honest take on the situation. Naturally, it was all about how Chris isn't remotely responsible for anything he has done wrong, and how it's all the fault of his [[autism]] or those DANG DIRTY TROLLS. Gradually, however, Chris's focus on ED died down. He made occasional references,<ref>[[July 2012 Facebook posts#E.D. is back up]]</ref> but his depression and focus on [[CWC's Hallmark Negative Life Events|other enemies]] caused his anger to flag.

ED itself suffered from schism and dissention in [[April 2011]], when it was redirected to '''Oh Internet''', a more safe-for-work wiki, in an attempt to achieve the site revenue required to stay online. The site included watered-down articles about Chris and Sonichu. In October 2013, Oh Internet silently went offline. Encyclopedia Dramatica returned under several domains: .ch, .se and .es, revived via scraping articles and images from archived websites. Going into 2016, it and the Chris-chan article are still kicking.

With the inside job on the death of the old ED, I added the relevant information to the article without going too in-depth on the issue. Before it almost looked as if the article was tacitly directing users to "the new ED at OhInternet which would be a terrible lie.
Needless to say, the new ED is on track with well over a million page views and with all the articles but still needing more images of the old ED.
Any work re-adding images to the CWC article would be appreciated since DeGrippo the Hutt and her gang have bleached all the old article images in their goal for a sanitized net. :::::*Dkain is correct. It's SSIDI (Supplemental Security Income for Disabled and some other shit that starts with an "I"). It's a program for disabled children of qualifying parents. Obstensibly it's money Bob paid into the system when he was drawing a paycheck (via FICA tax); in reality the payout ends up being more than what was paid in because of annual cost-of-living increases and the initial settlement. $800 is a common monthly amount and is pretty much the low end of the totem pole, but Medicare is included and the income is non-taxable. The beneficiary (in this case, Chris) is reviewed every 3 to 5 years to re-qualify -- there's little chance that Chris would be cut off, because if he ain't a hopeless nutjob, who is?

::::::I get SSDI, (Social Security Disability Income) which is different -- basically it's what Bob would qualify for. (I'm older than all you punx but not of retirement age thx, plus ''I have all my hair.'') I paid into the system for twenty years and don't feel bad about getting some of it back. It kind of blows getting by on what they hand out (I was making a tidy six figures before I got sick) and I'm about to nuke the whole thing by getting a j.o.b., but it was sure a leg up. Plus I have these groovy license plates. I was denied twice and had to appeal three times, it took about two years to do. The case worker came to see me while I was in the ICU once and I still got turned down. There's a thing called "ticket to work" that lets you make some outside income, but I could never get a straight answer about how much you can make before they cut you off so I didn't take the gig -- losing Medicare would have made things very iffy. Fun, but of a mild type.

::::::One more clarification (Champ, accept my apologies and feel free to toast all this if I'm getting too forum-y) SSDI is paid on the 3rd of the month, supposedly at 12 AM unless the 3rd falls on a weekend or holiday when it gets bumped up a day or two. Ferexample, since the 3rd of this month (July '11) is a Sunday, benefits were paid on the night of Thursday May 31st (formally, midnight Friday morning). Most banks will let you take an (up to) one-month advance against a direct deposit, usually at a horrendous interest rate (Wells Fargo and B of A charge 120% IIRC) -- Chris could use this credit line on the sly without Bob knowing until the next month. It'd be interesting to know if he has done so, I wouldn't be at all surprised.

::::::Medicare is Federal and parts A, B, and D (doctor, hospital, prescription) come with SSDI. Being awarded SSDI qualifies you for Medic''aid'', which is optional and administered by the state. Medicaid takes care of the co-pays, but you have to pay a stiffish premium. It's also of course not deducted from your (Federal) benefits, you have to pay it yourself. (In my case, the Medicaid premium was over a thousand bucks a month but I was facing surgery where the co-pay alone would have been over $100K.) I'd never begrudge anyone with a genuine disability their national benefits but if you are nothing but a fat, lazy waste of space then you should be forced to get a job. My Dad has MS and is on Disability Living Allowance. He works 2 hours a day as an in the home carer. As it's only 10 hours per week he is allowed to do this without any affect on his benefits. My Dad has a debilitating illness is willing to work when he can but Chris who is a young man with nothing wrong with him other than being a fat, lazy perverted cunt should not receive a penny in benefit money. The title I've given this comment is from a 1990s public ad campaign for anonymous tip offs for people you believe to be cheating our national benefits system. Chris's disability check is meant to supplement the money he would receive at a low-paying job (the best he could hold down) and provide him enough money to live on his own. According to Chris's [[Chris and reality|logic]], by purchasing useless commercial goods, he is paying sales tax which the government puts directly back into the hands of the needy.<ref>[[Mailbag 34|Mailbag #34]]</ref> This is irrefutably false; sales taxes go to the state government whereas his tugboat is paid by ''federal'' '''''payroll''''' tax, to which Chris has never substantially contributed in his life.

Another thing to take into consideration is that while Chris spends a chunk of his social security on American products like McDonald's (thus keeping the money in the internal economy), Chris spends most of it on video games. The problem is his game systems ([[PSP]], [[Nintendo DS]], [[Wii]], and [[PlayStation 3]] just to name a few) are made by Japanese companies, and while these companies have American bases and a small amount of production occurs in the U.S., the majority is produced, developed in and imported from Japan. Thus, beyond whatever profit the local retailer makes, the vast majority of money spent will be given to the foreign company's employees and fixed costs that keep ''them'' functioning, which will be chiefly spent in Japan, thus contributing to Japan's internal economy - the money in essence leaving the U.S. economy permanently. Ironically, if Chris were an [[HEXBox|Xbox]] enthusiast (instead of a rabid boycotter), the majority of money spent on it and on many of its games would be put back into the U.S. economy, as Microsoft is a U.S. based company.

===Earning Potential===
On the advice of his dead father, Chris doesn't get a job, supposedly because the tugboat gives him more money overall. However, Bob was totally wrong. At the time of this writing, minimum wage in the Commonwealth of [[Virginia]] is $7.25, pursuant to federal minimum wage. If Chris were to somehow do a complete 180° on his life, get off disability, and begin working a full forty-hour week, his monthly income before taxes and rent payment would be approximately $1,260 USD. This would put Chris's annual income range, before tax, at roughly $15,100. Subtracting what he pays his parents to live in filth, as well as the 5% tax his income range mandates in the state of Virginia, Chris could very likely be left with a ridiculous $9,000 in ''spending'' money, enough for many more sex toys and video games. Contrast this with the $2,748 Chris pulls in annually from the government after paying off his parents.

Rough calculations and estimations say that if Chris lives into his 80s, given reasonable "cost of living" increases to his tugboat annually, he will receive roughly $1,000,000 over his lifetime from the American taxpayer. In this day and age, that's chump change and he'd amass a larger fortune if he simply got off his ass and got a career; of course, it's [[Chris and health|extremely unlikely]] that he will live anywhere near that long.
