'''''Mary Poppins''''' is a Disney film adaptation of the book series of the same name. It is highly regarded as a classic of children's and musical cinema. It is less highly regarded as the [[Blanca E-mails|favorite]] film of perverse, demented internet-cyst [[Christian Weston Chandler]]. Chris has made references to the film in his writing in his usual [[random access humor|context-eschewing style]]. Most offensively to fans of the film, he incorporated the "Votes for Women" segment from the song ''Step In Time'' into his twisted [[Women's Rights]] propaganda, as well as bastardized the ''Jolly Holiday'' song, replacing 'Mary' with 'Ivy' or the name of whatever gal-pal he is currently being trolled by.

His extreme zeal for "women's rights" probably comes from a Mrs. Banks, the mother of Jane & Michael. As the story is set in England in the "spring of 1910" (although Emmeline Pankhurst's second arrest of 1909 was mentioned in an earlier song), women do not yet have the right to vote. She sand the second song of the film, "Sister Suffragette", and she made numerous references to the movement after that.

Mrs. Banks and her friends were depicted as struggling for the greater cause of being treated as an equal, with the same rights and treatment. But Chris, seeing Mrs. Banks speak fondly of all the shock value acts the protestors did (e.g. throwing rotten eggs at the prime minister), decided to take it to the only logical conclusion he could come up with: stripping and fucking.

One would think that a person who almost exclusively [[Gal pal|socializes with women]] and refers to all men aside from himself and his [[Bob Chandler|father]] as [[JERKS|jerks]] would be very supportive of '''women's rights'''. In the case of [[Christian Weston Chandler]], however, one would be mistaken. Women's rights, at least in Chris's mind, refer to the right of women to strip without interference, and to be interpreted as women without [[pickle]]s. Chris tries to pass off his chauvinism as pseudo-feminism, and will never get laid without paying for the honor.

In the [[comics]], women are portrayed as only enjoying fucking, shopping, and cooking, though they do not enjoy them for themselves; they enjoy cooking for the men. Similarly, when they go shopping, they buy clothes to wear for their significant other/crush.

Chris's most prominent reference to women's rights occurs at the end of ''[[Sonichu (comic)|Sonichu]]'' in [[Episode 17]], in which the [[Rosechu (species)|Rosechus]] of [[CWCville]] strip to celebrate their victory over [[Jason Kendrick Howell]] and assert their dominance over [[4-cent garbage.com]].

Despite their phenomenal talent for fighting evil, Chris depicts Rosechus as passive [[Sex toys|sexual toys]] for [[Sonichu (species)|Sonichus]]. Reflecting Chris's own distorted image of women, the Rosechus in his comics tend to exhibit a desire to engage in stereotypical behavior, with occasional aggressive sexual overtures. Women also tend to act as a deus ex machina plot device - occasionally leaving their role as supporting characters to engage in acts of great bravery and heroism.

It is obvious that Chris is ''aware'' of the idea that objectifying women is frowned upon; every time he makes his female characters use their feminine qualities (to put it altogether too mildly), he is quick to add a disclaimer that he respects the women for ''both'' their minds and bodies, and/or make the claim that the characters are doing it because they want to fight for the women's rights. However, due to his [[autism|mental block]], he fails to understand what society would consider a correct course of action, to wit, to become more Alpha before objectifying the women in the first place, and that disclaimers like these make him appear to be a mangina.

Chris allows himself to be controlled by his own desires, and has soaked in all sorts of knowledge about women primarily from [[anime]], [[video games]], and in particular [[pornography]], which Chris considers "educational".<ref>[[Miyamoto Saga]]</ref> He has had several problems realizing the difference between exaggerated stereotypes and the reality, as also evidenced by his [[racism|racist remarks]].
During the [[Tomgirl Saga]], he states that he uses the female bathroom, and that there is "no going back for him", not realizing that he is blatantly intruding upon the privacy of the women present, and disregarding their feelings (which, undoubtedly, can be summed up as pure terror) on the matter.

This mindset is painfully obvious in Chris's interaction with women during his [[Love Quest]]. Chris takes on a passive role in his attraction strategy, waiting to be approached by women who he thinks will take interest in his appearance. Chris essentially is looking for a [[Barbara Chandler|maternal figure]] in his life. Rather than aiming to better himself, he is looking to be fulfilled and served by women. Rather than having the full potential to use their talents in society, women's rights are the rights of women to bring pleasure to men as Chris sees fit. When Chris claimed to have lost his virginity to a woman who was probably a hooker in [[April 2012]], he also said, quite bluntly, ''"My future sweetheart will find out about it",'' giving off the impression that whoever hooks up with him will just accept him sleeping with a prostitute right off the bat, and relegating the woman who finally took away his [[Virgin with Rage|much hated virginity]] to being nothing more than an organic [[Fapcup]].

Much of Chris's sexism in relationships is rooted in [[hypocrisy]] - for example, he thought that if he was married to [[Ivy]] and was [[stress]]ed, he could go to a [[Zelina Rosechu|strip club]], but of course she could not; similarly, he suggested a MFF threesome with many of his sweethearts, but was horrified when Ivy suggested a [[Homos|MMF threesome]].<ref>[[Ivy Q&A]]</ref>

When occasionally confronted with his sexism, Chris becomes extremely indignant and offended.<ref>[[White_knight_e-mails#September_2008_.E2.80.94_Chris_denies_being_fat_and_sexist]]</ref>. Chris seems to be under the impression that "sexism" basically means "physical abuse", and can't process the idea that treating women as sexual objects obsessed with shopping is still a form of sexism if not the definition (in addition to with and other factors).

I saw this movie yesterday. I get the feeling the writers of this article were going off memory (I certainly wouldn't rewatch a Disney children's musical from one of the most vapid, schmaltzy eras of Hollywood just for Chris), but some corrections:

* Mrs. Banks is not the first proper character. The film opens on Bert (Dick Van Dyke, second-credited actor with almost as much screentime as Mary herself) singing a song in a one-man-band outfit. He also might be the template for Chris's [[random access humor]] because he tells terrible, unfunny jokes to everybody's uproar both here and in a later sequence. It even becomes a plot point. After the children cause a mob to descend on the bank demanding all their money back because of a squabble over tuppence, Mr. Banks salvages his job by telling one of these jokes to the senior partner (by the way, this movie is fucking weird). Mrs. Banks is the second song and preceded by several characters of equal or greater importance (she gets maybe 30 minutes screentime tops and that's only because musicals, by design, have severe padding).
* While real-world events would suggest 1909, there's a lyric that specifically states 1910. You didn't really expect Disney to care about historical accuracy, did you?
* The movie does absolute jackshit in explaining Women's Suffrage. It's just used as an excuse for why she's neglecting her children. Also, I really wouldn't be that surprised of Chris growing up to be a raging misogynist if this is his sole entry into feminism. The movie portrays it as a stupid, frivolous endeavor of which Mrs. Banks has little real conviction. At the beginning of the movie, she hides the sashes before her husband arrives because he "doesn't like the cause" and otherwise acts like a doormat housewife when not mentioning cartoonish displays of protest (which are things such as women chaining themselves to carriages and throwing rotten eggs at the prime minister; not that hard to see Chris going straight for stripping if his idea of protesting is shock value alone).
* I think Chris might have been channeling this film when he did [[I Got A Fish]]. Unless he's a fan of other musicals in the Rodgers and Hammerstein style, he probably picked up the lingering vibrato note from Mr. Banks.
