Thelp:

Sweetheart from the Ground-Up is a CWC-ism Chris uses to explain the type of woman he wants, because apparently a girlfriend isn't a sweetheart and he has to teach her how to be his "sweetheart". He apparently finds this term so clever that he uses it incessantly. He may think that it rhymes.

Chris intends this phrase to mean that he wants a female friend who will eventually become a sweetheart. To all other human beings it sounds like he wants to chain a young woman in his basement, break her and rebuild her as his fantasy woman by brainwashing her into loving him. To the mad scientists among us, or the gramatically sensitive (Chris almost always mistakenly adds a hyphen to "ground up"), it sounds like he wants to reanimate all of his old coffee grounds in his basement laboratory, and then, Pygmalion-like, begin a romantic relationship with them. This is one of thousands of reasons why non-inflatable women won't touch him.

It's also worth noting that he did say he was searching for a Sweetheart From The Ground-Up in several of his attraction signs. Considering the entire point of said signs is to find a girlfriend, not a regular gal-pal, his usage here conflicts with his given definition of the term. However, it is unlikely that he intends the phrase to have multiple meanings, but rather that he's simply too retarded to understand that a complete stranger can't be a great friend at the same time.

Uses by Chris
*The Story of My Current Days includes one of the earliest recorded examples of the term, where Chris imagines that "there had to be a Boyfriend-Free Girl out there, somewhere, for me to get to know, grow a strong companionship with and make into a Sweetheart from the Ground-Up."
*One of Chris's messages from 2005 includes a rare variation of the term: "I have been in the market for a Boyfriend-Free Girl to make into a girlfriend from the ground-up for over two years now."
*In an e-mail to his middle school teacher Virginia Sanford from February 2007, Chris explains the motivation behind his original Attraction Sign: "I needed a girl friend to make into a Sweetheart from the Ground-Up."
*An e-mail to Megan from August 2007 includes the usual Attraction Sign boilerplate about needing to "make into a Sweetheart from the Ground-Up."
*Towards the end of Sub-Episode 7, the tale of his ordeal at Target, Chris complains, "All I wanted for over two years was a boyfriend-free girl into make into make into a sweetheart from the ground up, with friendship!"
*During the September 2008 round of white knight e-mails, Chris summed up his goal in life as "SIMPLY PUT, I'd like an 18-29-Year Old Boyfriend-Free, Caring, Smoke-Free, Non-Alcoholic, white (Optionally virgin) Woman to make into a Sweetheart from the Ground-Up."
*Save for a slight change in the age range, he says more or less the same thing in Vivitheg's AIM chat: "in a nutshell, I'm looking for an 18-26-year old, Boyfriend-free, caring, smoke-free, non-alcholic white woman to make into a sweetheart from the ground-up."
*Chris's introductory post at Sonichu Girls explains that he's "waiting to be personally approached by an '18-(my age at that time and current) Boyfriend-Free, caring, smoke-free, non-alcoholic white girl, to make into a Sweetheart from the ground-up.'"
*The Sonichu Chronicles, Chris's Powerpoint presentation designed to pitch his character to Nintendo, he explains that "IN REAL LIFE, I’ve been in my Search for a woman to become my True Sweetheart From the Ground-Up."
*Chris's Book of Matches profile from late 2008 or early 2009 says "I WANT to start a relationship from the Ground-Up."
*In Mumble 4, Chris says that he's qualified to give relationship advice because of his "personal experiences...when I tried to find myself a woman to make a sweetheart from the ground up." He also explains a bit more of the meaning of the term, which apparently denotes a relationship "starting with friendship" and progressing into romance.
*LOOK at the truth!, one of Chris's rants against Liquid Chris, includes the following lament: "I have still been having a...harder time of trying find a boyfriend-free girl...to make to a sweetheart from the ground-up. Yet he was able to get a girlfriend..."
*Does Chris not watch very many classic cartoons? Quite a few depict American Indians in, if not exactly realistic, at least, I don't know, a more swarthy, less European manner. "Wagon Heels" (Clampett, 1945) is a personal favorite. You can view it here. --The Iconoclast 13:54, 6 June 2011 (PDT)

* I guess I've never really read what "fraction" Native American Chris is until today and I'd like to state a fact I strongly believe needs to be put SOMEWHERE. Either here, or in the article about Chris and lying. I, myself, am part Native American (an extremely small part Inuit and Sioux) and if Chris WAS 1/16 Native American he would get a monthly amount of money from the Government. While his parents would have to "claim" their N.A. status (though with money and Chris involved...they would have done it if they could), Chris could get big bucks for being 1/16 N.A. (which is quite a bit these days). That also means, his mother or father (I forget what side it's from) would be 1/8 NA (HUGE AMOUNT now a days) and they could get loads of money a month (they have to prove NA status of course). I can't see Chris's parents not taking some route for money; it may be that they just don't know that they can get money for being a Cherokee. Either way, I highly doubt Chris is actually 1/16 Cherokee (if he really is at all). I think it might be like being related to Anne Boleyn, something he says to either get attention or get away with something. "I can't be racist because I'm Native American" or something.<br />TL;DR I feel it needs to be mentioned that Chris is more likely than not NOT 1/16 Cherokee Indian (if at all). --4Macie 18:19, 16 June 2011 (PDT)
*** In his emails to Jackie, he says multiple times that he's 1/16 Cherokee Indian. Just thought I'd point that out. Hmm...I wonder if some 'ancestry' website would help out with this. If he is indeed 1/16 (of NA or Black), I bet it'd be within the great grandparents or something. --4Macie 15:23, 17 June 2011 (PDT)
***In the Regina Email, he states he's 1/32 Cherokee from his father's side. And I found some stuff from an Ancestry site, and from his father's side there is no one (up to his great grandfather) who would be native american OR black (which would be required to be 1/16 or 1/32 of anything). I don't know where or even if any of this information can be placed and used; but now I'm certain that Chris is not only stupid (which we all knew) but he's also using the "I'm Cherokee" as a way to 'attract' attention and potential ladies (something that shouldn't surprise anyone). --4Macie 06:36, 19 June 2011 (PDT)

I've traced all branches of the Chandler clan (Bob's ancestors, as Barb's are easily found already) back to at least the 18th century - to the 17th century in some cases - and can confirm that he is solely of British Isles background with the exception of some very distant (1600's) French. If I were to incorporate this into the article, would a link to a family tree with no sources be okay? I assume you don't want an Ancestry link, but that's where my primary sources are. I'll go ahead and do it if nobody objects. --Thelp (talk) 22:48, 15 May 2017 (UTC)

Harriet seems to admire the American presidents, and considering the number of flags she has on her Christmas tree, she is a TRUE and HONEST American patriot. Tom, according to Chris, is a retired fire inspector, and offered Barb advice after her house burned down.

As Chris told Catherine during her real-life meeting with him, Harriet and Tom still occasionally exchange pleasantries with Barb, but do not allow her over to their home.
This article seems to be written assuming that the "principal's lap" incident and the "faculty abuse" incident happened at roughly the same time, or even that one led to the other. Do we know this to be true, or is it an assumption? --Sonichuis44 07:56, 5 January 2010 (UTC)
* Occurs to me that I'd always thought they were part of the same incident, but there doesn't seem to be any evidence to support that. Anybody know for sure one way or the other? If not, I'll split the two into their own sections. Also, thanks to whoever edited the "out of control" bit, that was from the old version of the page, good catch there... Dkaien 22:20, 23 April 2010 (UTC)

:* At a guess, you would have thought that his escape from lap caused panic, which lead to the 'abuse' incident, when Chris flipped out. It's anyones guess what happened though. I'm thinking Chris probably had those 'stranger danger' lessons at that age, and probably men and laps did come into it somewhere, which set off alarm bells. We know how literally Chris takes things, and it wouldn't be a massive leap to imagine he did honestly believe the head was trying to molest him.

I can also see the head put Chris on his lap in a desperate attempt to calm him down or something. It's unlikely that happened, as it does leave him open to accusations like that, but you never know. The staff restraint incident probably prevented something like the sign attack video, or the Vivian death threats from happening IRL as well. --YawningSquirtleRedux 22:27, 23 April 2010 (UTC)

Timeline shit: 1.) Chris would have been 9 or 10 in the 4th grade, so this happened in the early 90s, not 80s, and 2.) The Columbine shooting occured in 1999, and 15 years before that would be 1984. *SIGH*. Fixed. --Anaconda 20:41, 23 November 2009 (CET)

I remember a letter writer in one Mailbag who claimed he'd gotten ahold of the court records and according to them Chris put a kid in the hospital by nearly biting off his nose. The records supposedly also state he frequently threw screaming fits in class and one such incident was what wound up getting recorded. Is there any sauce/confirmation on any of this or was it just made up? Chris seemed surprised by the nose-biting thing and denied it, but he IS a liar... --Lokiskywalker 07:17, 2 August 2010 (UTC)
*Mailbag 24. There's no sauce provided and I have no idea how to check, but I'll look around and see if I find anything. Freecell 07:39, 2 August 2010 (PDT)
Court Records
What are the odds that we could get our hands on a court statement of what actually happened? Bob took this thing to the courts, so there's going to be records somewhere, but I have really no idea how the American courts work, or if those records are made public. I found the contact information for the clerk at the Greene General Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court (I can only assume this is the court where the whole thing went down). There's no e-mail, and I'm not going to call Virgina from Canada for such a silly reason, but I'm tempted to send a letter, bluntly asking if I can see the records. Do any Americunts versed in juvenile law know if I'm setting my hopes too high? --Turnabout 14:57, 21 October 2010 (PDT)
*You probably are. I highly doubt they'd release those records to people like us.--trombonista 15:22, 21 October 2010 (PDT)
:*I'm going to try anyway. I'm going to send them a letter and see what happens. I mean, at worst, they say no, and at best, we have a beautiful, clear, and potentially hilarious view into the origins of Chris. Mind you, the letter will be going quite far in both directions, so it'll take a while before I get a response. --Turnabout 15:35, 21 October 2010 (PDT)
::*I just got a letter back from the Greene County Court Clerk, and I'm afraid the news is disappointing. This is what is written, dated Nov 1, 2010: "All records are held for 10 yrs. 1999 and back have been expunged. If it possibly was a felony, you would need to chk Circurt Ct PO Box 386 Stan. Va. 22973 [sic]" Since there probably weren't any felony charges related to the case, then I'm afraid that the only way we'll ever know what really happened that day will be if we ever get our hands on the Autism Papers. --Turnabout 19:47, 8 November 2010 (PST)
"Abuse" incident truthfulness
It's possible that Chris is telling the truth, albeit a dramatic version, about the so-called abuse incident as it may have been the school staff's reaction to an autism-related meltdown. Oftentimes the child having a meltdown must be restrained or confined in order to keep them from hurting themselves. I've heard of incidents where the meltdown was recorded to document what was going on in case a parent flipped out over their child's injuries and accused the school of abuse. This occasionally shows up on not-quite-news sites like the Daily Mail and the articles always, without fail, take the side of the angry parents. ("Mom outraged that autistic son restrained in a high chair!" "Videos reveal autistic student kept in a pen by mean old teacher!")

The reason why I didn't add this to the page myself (at least right now) is that I'm not that well-versed in all things Chris and don't know if he even has a history of meltdowns. Meltdowns often improve by adulthood or may be replaced with fits of anger and destructiveness, so this would explain why he doesn't seem to have them anymore. They've just morphed into something that less resembles your classic tantrum. --Thelp (talk) 21:09, 14 January 2016 (UTC)
