This is the original and most iconic look of Chris, the standard until mid-2011. It is a look immortalized in his [[Sonichu (comic)|comic book]] self-insertion. His outfit usually consisted of:

In mid-[[2009#June|June 2009]], roughly around the time he made [[Magical Man|certain friends]], Chris temporarily decided that his current look was old-hat. He got rid of many of the striped shirts (mostly because he couldn't fit into them anymore) and grew a goatee.

The reformed Chris's wardrobe consisted of:

*A plain-colored T-shirt worn over a long-sleeved shirt.
*Tattoo sleeves.
*A black vest (unbuttoned) that was too small for his girth.
*A dog tag worn around the neck as a substitute for the medallion.
*A goatee.
*Sunglasses over normal glasses (the glasses chain remains)

His new attire was first properly presented to the world in the [[Rollin' and Trollin']] video.

Soon afterward, however, he went back to sporting his traditional clown shirts and claimed that he had been pressured into making the Rollin' and Trollin' video. However, on the same day he [[That Goatee WILL Grow Back|shaved his beard]], he drew the first picture of [[Collosal Chan]], a character which preserved the look for all eternity.

===The "Gay Trucker" outfit===

After he promised to leave the [[Internet]] in the spring of [[2010]], Chris threw away his clown shirts, ditched the medallion for several months (it returned in [[Haters Gonna Hate.MOV|September]]), and picked up a new wardrobe in an attempt to look like a normal person. This included:

* A denim jacket from Goodwill that he cut the sleeves off of, making it look somewhat like a [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gilet gilet].<ref>[[Kacey Call 2]]</ref>
* A sleeveless white shirt, exposing his pale, flabby upper arms.
* The dog tag from his IBA outfit.
* A baseball cap.

The result was a modified version of the IBA outfit. It has been observed that when Chris tries to look like a bad boy, he ends up looking like a [[Truck Driver|gay trucker]], hence the trolls' term for his new wardrobe.

The only way he could have made it look gayer would have been by combining it with his muscle bra. Which, unfortunately, he did. [[Fridays After Five|And in public]]. At this point, going back to the medallion would have actually ''improved'' his chances of picking up [[gal-pals]].

With the arrival of the gay trucker outfit also came an interest in T-shirts that boldly expressed Chris's desire for sex, often in exceedingly tasteless ways. The first clear look at one of these shirts was in a [[For J-R's Eyes Only.MOV|profoundly disturbing video]] leaked in late [[April 2010]] which featured Chris wearing a [[parody]] shirt that changed the Mountain Dew logo so it read "Mount and Do Me". Fans hoped that since this was a private video for a potential sweetheart, Chris didn't intend to dress like that outside his [[bedroom]]. Alas, Chris destroyed any hope of that being the case on 18 [[June 2010]] when he wore a shirt that said "Enjoy Vagina" to Fridays After Five – a '''public, ''family-oriented''''' concert. He topped this by pulling that shirt over his head and standing around in his muscle bra, on which he had written: "WANT WOMAN!". The common belief was that these unfunny, sexually-themed shirts were the next evolution of the [[attraction sign]], a way for him to inform potential mates that he is available without ever having to talk to people, nor spend any effort in making a sign.

In late [[August 2010]], Chris returned to the Internet with a series of videos in which he sported simple, loose-fitting T-shirts. The effect was interesting, bringing him closer to normality than he'd been in many years. He was still a pale, sweaty, balding, fat, pathetically weak manchild, but in Ruckersville, that put him reasonably close to the mainstream.

A number of Chris's T-shirts appear to have been with him for a decade or more – a Manchester High shirt, a souvenir shirt from the BrickFest event in [[2000]], and a [[Pokémon]] trainer shirt from the Books-a-Million where Chris played [[card games]] between [[1998]] and 2000. Either he's willing to keep shirts that have some personal significance around for a very long time, or his packrat tendencies prevent him from throwing any of them away.

In [[April 2011]], a series of leaked pictures showed Chris dressed in women's clothing in public. This outfit consisted of:

* Women's sandals
* Blue eye shadow
* Jeans
* Blue string top

Chris was very happy with his new fashion choices, but friction with his parents made it difficult for him to wear makeup and women's clothing overtly. Chris continued to wear female clothing, albeit with some refinements, over the course of the next couple of years. Although he has long since dispensed with the clownish polo shirts and jeans, many characteristics of his tomgirl wardrobe are remarkably consistent with the way he dressed when he still wore men's clothing, especially in terms of color coordination and clothing size. He also remains committed to buying all his clothes from thrift stores, giving him the appearance of a dumpy bag lady. He summarized his style in [[November 2014]] as "colored leggings, denim skirts mini to knee length, bold colored shirts and blouses".<ref>[[Commissions#The Flufflehugs Commissions]]</ref> Some of the most frequent themes in his feminine fashion choices are:

* Clashing, violently-opposed colors (particularly red with blue or green)
* Clothing far too small for him
* Dresses or skirts with very high hems
* Leggings, to help with tucking
* Sports bras
* Big, floppy, church-lady hats
* Eye makeup, applied poorly and usually purple or blue in color

A deviation from this style was seen in the video of the [[26 December 2014]] incident, where Chris is shown in purple [[My Little Pony]] shades, (probably as a [[Honor roll|disguise]]); a silver headband, showing off his ever-receding [[hair|hairline]]; his Manchester High sweatshirt; short jeans matched with long, purple socks and/or [[DIRTY, CRAPPED BRIEFS|another pair of pants]]; and boots (possibly Uggs).

The fact that Chris wore skirts and makeup for each of his court hearings in 2015, even those to which [[Barb]] accompanied him, suggests that he consistently dresses this way in public, and that his mother has come to grudgingly accept her son's transgender attire.

In 2015, Chris also started dying his hair blue, but predictably failed to do it properly, and ended up dying it an ugly, seaweed green instead. Combined with his wardrobe that manages to somehow simultaneously resemble the attire of a [[Crystal Weston Chandler (daughter)|5 year old girl]] and a [[Barb|65 year old cat lady]], the resulting look has been sardonically referred to by Kiwis as "mermaid grandma".

In [[December 2017]], Chris appeared in [[Cherokean Chant|a video]] dressed as a classic Russian [[Wikipedia:gopnik|''gopnik'']], wearing a striped black Adidas tracksuit jacket (with his usual ugly skirt) and cap, drinking a bottle of [[Alcohol|vodka]]. The full ensemble, as Chris wore for his famous appearance at [[MAGfest]] in [[January 2018]], consists of the cap, jacket (often unzipped over another shirt), and a pair of matching tracksuit pants (often under a skirt). However, he often swaps out the pants, and sometimes wears one element of the outfit on its own. Chris first wore the Gopnik outfit under the [[Idea Guy]]'s influence but seems to have adopted it as a mainstay of his wardrobe. In February 2018, he introduced a [[Christine Doll#Resurrection|new model of the Christine Doll]] with the tracksuit's stripes and logo painted on. In [[April 2018]], Chris drew himself in the Gopnik outfit on the cover of [[Sonichu 17|''Sonichu'' #17]]. As recent as of [[December 2023]], Chris has been spotted in public wearing a pink version of the adidas tracksuit jacket and the cap.

“The Vinyl Scratch” is a white tube skirt with a double whole music note. In 2015, Chris attended [[OmegaCon]] cosplaying as DJ pon3, nicknamed [[Vinyl Scratch]] by fans, from the My Little Pony: “ Equestria Girls” franchise, the whole note resembling her cutie mark in her pony form. However, after the convention, Chris would continue to wear the skirt that came with the outfit almost daily, likely not washing it very often, up until his arrest.

In [[November 2016]], Chris [[November 2016 Facebook posts#Women should wear skirts|posted]] a commentary on women's fashion.

In it, Chris implored women to wear skirts with leggings instead of pants, saying to "view it from [[Attraction Sign|a pervert's perception]]: they eye downward and have Good view of the in-between, as well as easier access to picture it in their imaginations from there. With a dress or skirt concealing the area, it is actually more difficult for the perv, and, thus, more difficult to picture and imagine what is or isn't at the [[China|groin area]]."

He also requested men to consider wearing kilts - stressing to wear pants underneath, saying, "NOBODY is impressed with that [[Pickle|bulge]]; moreover, it is Absolutely Offensive," which indicates that Chris has shifted from [[Brassieres For Males|obsessing over men's chests]] to obsessing over their crotches.

==Theory of fashion==
The clothes that Christian chooses seem almost like a costume for him, especially his infamous striped shirt. Given that he is autistic, observers speculate that he may have difficulty with identifying things visually, including himself. In [[Sonichu 7|''Sonichu'' #7]], he alluded to having to take time to study his appearance in a mirror, possibly wearing the shirt in question.

Chris seems to regard clothing and color as an integral part of people's identities. During the events of the [[Liquid Saga]], Chris took a special interest in [[Liquid Chris|Liquid]]'s choice of a brown striped shirt, referring to Liquid as a "Brown-Striped Impostor"<ref>[[SingStar Challenge]]</ref> and fixating on Liquid's shirt as a symbol of his inauthenticity, despite the fact that Chris [[Chris and hypocrisy|owns several brown shirts himself]]. Chris also believed that [[jerkop|police officers]] wearing brown or beige uniforms weren't authentic, and that true police officers only wear blue and black. He referred to the man he [[26 December 2014|pepper sprayed]] as a [[Yellow-Shirted Foe]] – and let's not forget that the macing was inspired by [[Sega]] [[Sonic Boom Protests|changing Sonic's arms from tan to blue]].

Like many of his lifestyle changes that occurred during the Tomgirl Saga, Chris's unceremonious abandonment of his classic shirts came as a surprise to trolls who had spent years speculating on Chris's clothing as a symbol of his identity, and his usual resistance to change as a symptom of his autism. However, even in retrospect, Chris seems to hold the clothes he used to wear in very high regard as a symbol of his identity and legacy, as shown when he listed "The Classic" on eBay for a whopping $12,000. Not only is this statement [[Chris and his Ego|extremely egotistical]] even by CWC's standards, but it also betrays the fact that Chris continues to treat a shirt that he let rot in a plastic bag for two years with an undue amount of gravitas. It seems that Chris views the clothing he has worn over the course of his life, much like [[Christopher's name change#Christopher as a separate personality|the various names he has had]], as an important symbol of his identity as it has twisted and changed. Because autistics are known to place extreme importance on inanimate objects, this can be seen as standard autistic behavior.

Chris and his family have notoriously spent decades constantly filling up the house with tons of garbage and junk, earning it the nickname of '''"The Hoard"'''. In earlier pictures (those of [[Chris]]'s twentieth birthday in [[2002]], for instance), the house seemed reasonably tidy; but, in his [[Tour of Chris's House|first video tour]], Chris kept referring to the fact that "things got cluttered," suggesting that the house has only grown fuller and fuller ever since. "Clutter" is, of course, a grievous understatement; the entire house is packed with garbage, to the point where junk fills up entire rooms and reach within two feet of the ceiling (the living room was, for a while, basically inaccessible due to all the accumulated junk). Similarly, other rooms are full of junk, but rather than solid, impassable slabs of filth like in the living room, there are small crevices with chairs, TVs, and other furnishings.

Of the three Chandlers, Barb was the biggest hoarder, and one of the biggest obstacles to cleaning the place aside from the general laziness of the family. [[THAT IS MY HOUSE]] revealed that Chris's parents were aware of the alarming implications of the house's condition (with the junk being both a health hazard and a fire hazard), and feared that Chris's video tours could've elicited the attention of the [http://www.vdh.virginia.gov/LHD/ThomasJefferson/ Health Department of Greene County] resulting in their home being condemned. In the wake of Bob making that remark, [[weens]] made several calls to the health department in hopes of spurring such a process into action, but their efforts proved fruitless, like most efforts to get the state to intervene in Chris's sorry life.

Chris [[Alec Benson Leary Phone Call 8|claimed]] to have put forth some effort towards cleaning up the house in early 2010, but the "back-breaking" tasks he describes amount to [[Chores|simple maintenance]], like vacuuming and scrubbing the floors. He talks about this as if he is making great progress in fixing the disaster area that is 14 Branchland Court, but his efforts seemed to amount to little more than preventing himself from [[Vivitheg's AIM chat|slipping on cat shit]] on a regular basis. In [[Rocky Shoemaker call|a phone call]] to [[Rocky Shoemaker]] in 2011, it was revealed that 14 Branchland Court was infested and that the parasitic infestation caused [[Bob Chandler|Bob]] to be "covered in bug bites" before his death from heart disease.

On 10 [[January 2014]], Chris reported that the house had sustained major structural damage from an [[Destruction Of Chris's House|early-morning house fire]] following an electrical shortage. Chris, Barb, the dogs, Lucy the cat, and other possessions made it out safely, and they spent about a year in a [[rental house]] – which they predictably completely trashed – before moving back to the renovated 14 Branchland Court in [[December 2014]]. Although Chris was temporarily detained in jail after his misadventure on the [[26 December 2014|26th]], he was later released on bail and moved back into his house in [[January 2015]].

The house was vacant between the time of Chris and Barb's separation after the [[Affair with Mother|incest]] fallout, and the first few weeks of the [[Jail Saga]] following Chris's arrest. A [[Kiwi Farms]] user confirmed that Barb returned to the house starting on, or at some point before, [[August 2021|August 29th 2021]].<ref name="BarbBackIn14BC">[[Kiwi Farms posts (other users)#Status of 14 Branchland Court]]</ref> where she is currently at the mercy of caretakers and family members after the [[November 2021]] car accident.<ref>[[Jail_Letter_-_27_November_2021#Kengle.27s_description_and_response]]</ref> As of 2023, it appears that 14 Branchland Court is finally receiving at least some of the TLC it deserves, as recent fan visits have found the lawn being clipped and cleared of rubbish, and portions of the all-consuming hoard within having been extricated into bins to be disposed of, suggesting that someone has been paid to help Barb maintain the property.<ref>[[Fan visits#DATSJUSTWATINEED2BUS]]</ref>

Following the dismissal of Chris's case in [[August 2023]], his car was spotted at 14 Branchland Court on 4 [[September 2023]], though it is still currently unknown if he has been let loose from whichever other facility is currently tending to him.

Chris's parents presumably purchased 14 Branchland Court at some point between their marriage on 7 June 1980 (at which point they were still living in the Richmond area) and Chris's birth 20 months later. A plaque which hangs above Chris's bed in some videos (notably [[All Star]]) indicates that his parents' nickname for the house was '''"Wes-Chandler-Ton Manor"'''.

Chris lived at 14 Branchland Court from his birth on 24 [[February 1982]] until his family moved to the [[Richmond]] area in [[1993]] in order to escape the [[Nathanael Greene Elementary School|Greene County]] Public School system's attempts to pull him out of mainstream schools. Initially, Chris and his father lived in the Richmond suburbs while his mother held the fort in Ruckersville so she could continue working for the local electric power authority until retirement. Barbara joined them after retiring a few years later.

The Chandlers moved back to the Ruckersville house in [[2000]] after Chris graduated [[high school]]. In [[100 2178|a video]] released in [[May 2010]], Chris claims that his family tried and failed to sell the house at some point, and would have stayed in the Richmond suburbs if they had been able to find a buyer. Chris naturally attributes the house's failure to sell to a conspiracy between local realtors and the Greene County school system, but as this article explains, it probably went unsold for more practical reasons.

The original number of the house was '''46 Branchland Court''' - this is the number given in [[A Week With Christian Chandler]] (2000) and [[Cole Smithey]]'s 1994 postcard to Barbara. It was changed to 14 sometime after 2000.

In two videos uploaded on 27 [[March 2009]], Chris provided a tour of his house and the property that it's on. Like his own room, Chris's entire house is a disaster area. Several rooms are so cluttered that Chris cannot enter them.

What follows is a brief description of the rooms and other areas of 14 Branchland Court circa 2009.

On the other end of a short hallway is the '''utility room''', in which the family kept a refrigerator in addition to the usual washer and dryer. The '''family room''' (possibly in the west corner) had been claimed by Bob, who apparently slept there as well. If Chris's parents ever had, or used, dedicated bedrooms in the house, then they were never filmed.

Across the hallway, near the east corner, is a filthy '''bathroom''', which apparently has not been cleaned in years, as implied by the layers of dark brown/green mold growing in the shower and the peeling of the veneer on the cabinetry. The '''[[kitchen]]''' and dining area are apparently near the southern corner and southwestern wall. The computer Chris used for Internet access at the time was in this part of the house, as was a Christmas tree left up year-round. Tellingly, Chris has actually photographed himself with [[Officer Nasty]] and [[sex toys|dildos]] in the kitchen, and has even [[mass debating|mass debated]] here over a webcam feed. This implies that Chris's parents never actually went upstairs, leaving Chris free to do [[sex tape|whatever he wanted]] undisturbed (well, [[Bob Walks In|mostly undisturbed]]). The '''living room''', filled with garbage to the point of uselessness, is across the stairway from Chris's room. In earlier pictures (when Chris was slimmer and he had yet to start his [[Love Quest]]), we can see that the Chandlers' yard used to be quite lush and beautiful, with a variety of flowers planted around the area, the grass clipped, and the trees healthy. Many people speculate that over the years, Chris's parents got too old and/or too lazy to care for their garden, leaving the area neglected.

The yard now consists of some simply crossed wood planters near the curb and some small shrubs and trees out front. The plants in the planters have long since died. The backyard contains a '''shed''' and a small platform leading to a back entrance. The shed is full of shit, most notably a car, and was once the place where Bob would tinker with machines. At one point, when Chris was a boy, the shed was known as the "dreaming studio of Mr. C and Little C," and Bob would try to teach Chris how to build things - although Chris could not recollect what they had built.<ref>[[IRL Tour of 14 Branchland Court]]</ref> After that, there are some trees and the pen where [[Patti]] once played. Her [[Father Call|5-10 ton doghouse]] still stands, and she is buried nearby. At some point, a tree branch fell on the grave. Being lazy, Chris could not summon the strength to pick the damn thing up.

The Chandlers were known to possess at least two riding lawn mowers. Chris whined about using one in the [[Father Call]]. Barb bought a new mower - a Craftsman Riding Lawn Tractor - for $1,400, on 26 October 2011;<ref>http://cwcki.club/index.php?threads/fb-1-21-17-moving-forward-still-wants-to-sell-the-lawn-tractor.725/page-2#post-7223</ref> five years later, she attempted to sell it on [[Craigslist]] for $595. The second mower is presumably the one seen in photos of the yard after the house fire, as the listing includes the tarp that is seen covering it. The mower had been so inactive that Chris noted the old gas would need to be replaced.

As of [[February 2012]], the yard has been completely obscured by trash, junked cars, and [[DIRTY, CRAPPED BRIEFS|God knows what else]]. In 2013, a troll passing Chris's house in his car uploaded [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cwZKGe4BOSE a video], showing the front yard almost completely covered by an untrimmed lawn, in addition to the above.

==Second House Tour==

In 2013, a video was leaked by [[Alec Benson Leary]] showing the state of Chris's home since the last tour he gave in 2009. Needless to say, especially in light of eyewitness reports of his front yard in 2012, the house became even ''more'' of a mess in the following years. Whereas Chris had at least ''some'' room to maneuver in the 2009 Tour Video, here, the passageways have become so narrow and jam-packed that even he complains about all of the clutter being in his way and begins sounding increasingly [[Stress|annoyed]] as he attempts to navigate the claustrophobic environment. The kitchen, in particular, has become an unsightly mess--the Chandlers apparently couldn't be half-assed to put away their groceries, so it's strewn all over the place. The living room, already an ocean of rubbish, has gotten worse, with the accumulated clutter now towering over Chris to the point where he has to stretch to get footage of it. The bathroom hasn't been cleaned since the [[ShowerClean|last video Chris released of him cleaning it]] - and he even admits so himself in the video.

Even the stairs of his home have become cluttered with nonsense such as Christmas ornaments, boxes, and bags, which could spell disaster if Chris or his mother have to evacuate the premises. Also notable is the fact that every so often, Chris can be observed picking up random pieces of garbage from the floor as well.

In [[Chris and his ego|typical Chris-Chan fashion]], he describes his room as "the cleanest of the whole house", despite it having unsightly masses of clothes everywhere and even an unmade bed that he couldn't be bothered to at least straighten up before making this ill-advised video.

When he steps outside, he basically confirms what trolls have documented as early as 2012: that his lawn is ''completely'' overgrown to the point where it has utterly consumed one of the structures in his yard. Also unsurprising is the fact that after Bob's death, the garden shed has been completely abandoned.

Given his commentary, it ''almost'' seemed like Chris acknowledges that he has kept his home in a very unacceptable condition....right until he blames [[Borb|his parents]] for being "hoarders" and [[Chris_and_remorse#Shifting_blame|totally shifting blame away from himself]], ''despite'' being the "man" of the house.

By this time, the bug infestation appears to have been gotten rid of, or at least contained. It was stated before that the infestation was so bad that Chris was confined to his room in order to avoid getting bitten, but in this video, no bugs are seen and Chris makes no mention of them.

==2014 house fire==

On 10 January 2014, a fire broke out at the Chandler household. According to Chris, this was caused by a worn extension cord plugged into a coffee machine, which sparked and started the blaze. Chris, his mother, the beagles, and Lucy (one of the cats) made it out safely, surprising when you consider how much clutter was obstructing the stairways. The firefighters could not effectively navigate the house through either door and were forced to enter through the windows. Sadly, one of the cats (revealed to be Scamper by Chris in February 2016) perished in the fire from smoke inhalation and was later buried in the backyard.

The Chandlers escaped with little more than the clothes on their backs. Chris wrote that he was able to take his wallet, medication for his mother, some clothes, and his iPhone. The day after the fire, he and his mother were allowed to reenter the structure, and he learned to his relief that many of his personal possessions, including his games, his computers, and his artwork, had survived. His [[Lego]] [[high school]] survived, albeit partially melted. Chris was also observed on [[Miiverse]] shortly after the fire, suggesting that he managed to save his [[Nintendo]] 3DS or Wii U at some point. However, it can be assumed that much of the hoard suffered fire, smoke, and/or water damage.

As completely tragic as this incident was, it did not come as much of a surprise, given Barbara's hoarding and Chris's unwillingness or inability to control his mother's compulsions or properly clean. As pointed out by quite a few concerned people, the house had ''always'' been a health and safety hazard, and it was only a matter of time before disaster struck. Sadly, Chris was unable or unwilling to act on this well-meaning advice, and, as a result, reaped what he and his family had sown.

Chris and his mother stayed at a [[Rental House|rental house]] in nearby [[wikipedia:Barboursville, Virginia|Barboursville]] for most of 2014 as repairs to 14 Branchland Court were made. They also rented a storage locker. To the shock of absolutely no one, Chris and Barb managed to trash that house up as well; photos taken by Chris showed rodent shit on the house's carpeting, and [[Rental House Tour|eyewitness reports]] showed that the conditions in the rental house were basically the same as they were at 14 Branchland Court. Trolls reported in [[April 2015]] that the house was still vacant four months after Chris and Barb moved out.

For reasons which are not entirely clear, the renovation of the house took much longer than anticipated. Nevertheless, the worst fears, that the house would be condemned or the renovations would not be finished, were unrealized. In December 2014 and January 2015, the Chandlers moved back in.

==Post-fire renovation==

On the 6th of December, 2014, Chris announced on [[Facebook]] that his home had finally been repaired, and he would be moving back in near the start of the [[2015|new year]]. While some were hopeful that Chris would learn from this experience, take better care of his home and not cause it to be the clusterfucked fire hazard it was last time, it ''really'' hasn't seemed hopeful, [[Autism|given]] [[Barb|certain]] [[Chris_and_health#Living_conditions|factors]].

Ever a busy man, Chris managed to fit a [[26 December 2014|run-in with the law on Boxing Day, followed by two days in jail]] into his moving schedule. Once he was released on bond on 29 December, Chris was shortly back to complaining about having a "Charlie Horse [sic]" from moving his mother's hoard back to the house.

After Chris's second hearing in April started and finished half an hour early, and they failed to make it in, the Christorians who took it upon themselves to attend decided to make the most of their visit and go on a tour of and take photos of the major places in Chris' life, including 14 Branchland Court. Their photographs showed that the Chandler headquarters have been modernized, and no longer looks like ''total'' shit. This is partially due to the modernized exterior, and partially due to most of the hoard still being in storage. Photographs also showed some sort of outhouse in the backyard raised off the ground, and currently full of the hoard.

In the few years after having the house rebuilt, the Chandlers' negligence and hoarding are slowly turning it back to its filthy, cluttered past, proving, like mother like son, Barb is just as incapable of learning from her mistakes as Chris. Ironically, the Garden, which in the years before the fire had become increasingly bereft of plants, is just about the only part of the property which is thriving as of 2020, having become overgrown and unkempt with weeds, wildflowers, and plants encroaching from neighboring properties.

In October 2017, one of the bathrooms had a clogged shower drain, possibly stuffed up with Chris's seaweed [[hair]]. His solution was to pour Liquid Plumr into it and whine that every house should have two bathtubs.<ref>[[October 2017 tweets#Clogged shower drain]]</ref>

Other notable changes:

*The [[kitchen]] is now accessible and can be used for cooking. Chris has used it to [[Specimen Sample|store his semen]].
*Chris's [[bedroom]] is now on the first floor, his former room being used for storage.

Chris filmed the third tour during [[March 2018]]. While his house is shown being '''''very''''' slightly less messy than it normally is, even that's being ridiculously charitable. Chris's room is packed to the rafters with all sorts of clothes and Rubbermaid bins, though it's semi-accessible, and shockingly, so are the oven and kitchen sink. Overall, he is shown having less of a struggle walking through his house, but there is still plenty of junk accumulating over the tables, hallways, kitchen, and shelves, suggesting it's only soon before long that the house will return to being the fire hazard that it was not too long ago.

The eerie images unintentionally capture the abandoned state of the yard, including the gazebo, [[Bob]]'s old greenhouse, the unkempt, weed-strewn, and thinning lawn, and a derelict shed, as backdrops against colorful game characters. In essence, the images are a look into Chris's psyche and his own abandonment of [[reality]] for escapist fantasies.

==Mortgage==
The Chandler family has assumed two mortgages on 14 Branchland Court. The first was fully paid sometime before [[February 2009]], when Chris attested his house had no mortgage against it.<ref>[[Mumble 4]]</ref> The '''second mortgage''' on the property was filed in [[April 2009]] for $130,000,<ref>https://kiwifarms.net/threads/yt-11-21-help-please.25958/page-11#post-1896956</ref> held at first by [https://www.suntrust.com/ SunTrust Bank] but since transferred to [https://seterus.com/ Seterus], now operating as [https://www.mrcooper.com/ Mr. Cooper]<ref>https://www.consumerfinance.gov/about-us/newsroom/consumer-financial-protection-bureau-settles-with-mortgage-servicer-for-illegal-practices-that-impeded-borrowers-attempts-to-avoid-foreclosure/#:~:text=Seterus%20is%20no%20longer%20operating,Cooper.</ref>. Among the Chandlers' various [[debt]]s, the mortgage is the primary cause of the [[Financhu Crisis]]: acute circumstances relating to it have caused Chris to resort to begging many times. As for the reason why the Chandlers took on said mortgage can be summed up to paying off Barb's credit card debt; a bad move. On one occasion, [[Chris and negotiation|he pleaded idly]] with his [[TRUE and LOYAL fanbase]] to pay the entire mortgage at once for him.<ref>[[August 2016 Facebook posts#Who wants to pay our mortgage?!]]</ref> Moreover, the Chandlers have repeatedly neglected their monthly payments. When the [[Idea Guys]] had threatened to destroy [[CWCville]] and his [[eBay]] sales were not enough to meet their $6,000 ransom, Chris withheld a mortgage payment to save his [[Chris and reality|fictional setting]].

Chris's closest flirt with financial ruin occurred on 8 [[May 2018]], when he announced that the home could be foreclosed upon if they failed to make two mortgage payments the next day;<ref>[[WE NEED MONEY FOR MORTGAGE NOW, PLEASE#Please, HELP US! Onlookers speculate, given [[Chris and money|Chris's financial habits]] and [[Barb]]'s other debts, that after she passes away, that the estate could well be liquidated after her passing, or that Chris may struggle to keep up mortgage payments in the face of so many [[My Little Pony|tempting]] [[Vidya|distractions]].

Chris claimed in [[Jail Letter - 30 October 2021|a jail letter]] that the "Sonichu Temple" now had a mortgage of less than $90,000 (assuming he has mastered the distinction between the [[Chris and science#Algebra|greater than and less than symbols]]), and begged for donations to [[Barbara Chandler|Barb]] to help pay this.

Although the Chandlers have mostly kept to themselves over the years, they have had some notable interactions with their neighbors:

*The [[abusive babysitter]] was a neighbor of the Chandlers in 1983, living on Westwood Drive, Ruckersville.

*[[Sarah Nicole Hammer]] was one of Chris's neighbors when they were children.

*At some point in 2014, a deeply paranoid Chris told of a feud with a preteen neighbor whom he had suspected of stealing his old homework and passing it in for credit. According to Chris, the Chandlers (Barb and Chris) contacted Animal Control on the neighbor's cat and had it put to sleep, after it had scratched Chris. *In 2015, Chris uploaded [[A few kicks]], a video of him kicking a soccer ball around in his yard. At one point, the ball enters the road and Chris gives chase. Chris and especially Barb shouldn't have to contend with the troll horde within the sanctum of their own home. Unless, of course, you ''are'' personally invited. To date, Chris has extended personalized invitations to [[Clyde Cash]], the [[Magical Man]], [[Liquid Chris]], the staff of [[Asperchu#Asperpedia|Asperpedia]], [[Catherine]] and pretty much anybody that has ever thought ill of Chris to come to his house, so that he might [[Death threats|murder them]]. To date, none of them except Magical Man has taken him up on his offer. The scenario of such a meeting would likely be reminiscent of the [[hooker incident]], wherein the police would be promptly summoned whilst Chris hides, crying, behind his mother.

Despite this, some fans have made the trip out to visit Chris at his home and have posed for photos with him, showing that Chris had lightened up on his stance.

In 2021, after [[Jail Saga|Chris was jailed for incest]], some weens made the pilgrimage to harass Barb for information about Chris, leaving empty-handed.

Chris has probably never realized this, or perhaps he realizes that [[trolls]] have so thoroughly and permanently violated his privacy that attempting to preserve it is a lost cause. In any case, he has publicly announced his home address on a number of occasions, in YouTube videos and elsewhere.

It was built in [[Pre-1980#1970s|1977]], and with no major work done from [[1986]]<ref>[[:File:14BranchlandCourt.png]]</ref> to [[2014]], the house shows its age with its tacky fake shutters and vinyl siding.

Chris and his family have notoriously spent decades constantly filling up the house with tons of garbage and junk, earning it the nickname of '''"The Hoard"'''. In earlier pictures (those of [[Chris]]'s twentieth birthday in [[2002]], for instance), the house seemed reasonably tidy; but, in his [[Tour of Chris's House|first video tour]], Chris kept referring to the fact that "things got cluttered," suggesting that the house has only grown fuller and fuller ever since. "Clutter" is, of course, a grievous understatement; the entire house is packed with garbage, to the point where junk fills up entire rooms and reach within two feet of the ceiling (the living room was, for a while, basically inaccessible due to all the accumulated junk). Similarly, other rooms are full of junk, but rather than solid, impassable slabs of filth like in the living room, there are small crevices with chairs, TVs, and other furnishings.

Of the three Chandlers, Barb was the biggest hoarder, and one of the biggest obstacles to cleaning the place aside from the general laziness of the family. [[THAT IS MY HOUSE]] revealed that Chris's parents were aware of the alarming implications of the house's condition (with the junk being both a health hazard and a fire hazard), and feared that Chris's video tours could've elicited the attention of the [http://www.vdh.virginia.gov/LHD/ThomasJefferson/ Health Department of Greene County] resulting in their home being condemned. In the wake of Bob making that remark, [[weens]] made several calls to the health department in hopes of spurring such a process into action, but their efforts proved fruitless, like most efforts to get the state to intervene in Chris's sorry life.

Chris [[Alec Benson Leary Phone Call 8|claimed]] to have put forth some effort towards cleaning up the house in early 2010, but the "back-breaking" tasks he describes amount to [[Chores|simple maintenance]], like vacuuming and scrubbing the floors. He talks about this as if he is making great progress in fixing the disaster area that is 14 Branchland Court, but his efforts seemed to amount to little more than preventing himself from [[Vivitheg's AIM chat|slipping on cat shit]] on a regular basis. Barb apparently threatened to throw him out of the house if he were to attempt to dispose of some of her hoard of useless shit.<ref>[[Kacey Call 10]]</ref>

Chris also claimed that Bob used to use a [[computer]], but Barbara bought an enormous amount of crap from Goodwill, blocking off the computer. Whether or not Barb did it to stop Bob from using the computer is unknown, but at any rate he did.<ref>[[Jackie Chat 8|Jackie Chat #8]]</ref>

In [[Rocky Shoemaker call|a phone call]] to [[Rocky Shoemaker]] in 2011, it was revealed that 14 Branchland Court was infested and that the parasitic infestation caused [[Bob Chandler|Bob]] to be "covered in bug bites" before his death from heart disease.

On 10 [[January 2014]], Chris reported that the house had sustained major structural damage from an [[Destruction Of Chris's House|early-morning house fire]] following an electrical shortage. Chris, Barb, the dogs, Lucy the cat, and other possessions made it out safely, and they spent about a year in a [[rental house]] – which they predictably completely trashed – before moving back to the renovated 14 Branchland Court in [[December 2014]]. Although Chris was temporarily detained in jail after his misadventure on the [[26 December 2014|26th]], he was later released on bail and moved back into his house in [[January 2015]].

The house was vacant between the time of Chris and Barb's separation after the [[Affair with Mother|incest]] fallout, and the first few weeks of the [[Jail Saga]] following Chris's arrest. 14 Branchland Court was built in 1977 on a lot of 0.56 acres.<ref>[[Property tax assessment]]</ref>

Chris's parents presumably purchased 14 Branchland Court at some point between their marriage on 7 June 1980 (at which point they were still living in the Richmond area) and Chris's birth 20 months later. A plaque which hangs above Chris's bed in some videos (notably [[All Star]]) indicates that his parents' nickname for the house was '''"Wes-Chandler-Ton Manor"'''.

Chris lived at 14 Branchland Court from his birth on 24 [[February 1982]] until his family moved to the [[Richmond]] area in [[1993]] in order to escape the [[Nathanael Greene Elementary School|Greene County]] Public School system's attempts to pull him out of mainstream schools. Initially, Chris and his father lived in the Richmond suburbs while his mother held the fort in Ruckersville so she could continue working for the local electric power authority until retirement. Barbara joined them after retiring a few years later.

The Chandlers moved back to the Ruckersville house in [[2000]] after Chris graduated [[high school]]. In [[100 2178|a video]] released in [[May 2010]], Chris claims that his family tried and failed to sell the house at some point, and would have stayed in the Richmond suburbs if they had been able to find a buyer. Chris naturally attributes the house's failure to sell to a conspiracy between local realtors and the Greene County school system, but as this article explains, it probably went unsold for more practical reasons.

The computer Chris used for Internet access at the time was in this part of the house, as was a Christmas tree left up year-round. Tellingly, Chris has actually photographed himself with [[Officer Nasty]] and [[sex toys|dildos]] in the kitchen, and has even [[mass debating|mass debated]] here over a webcam feed. This implies that Chris's parents never actually went upstairs, leaving Chris free to do [[sex tape|whatever he wanted]] undisturbed (well, [[Bob Walks In|mostly undisturbed]]). The '''living room''', filled with garbage to the point of uselessness, is across the stairway from Chris's room. It is likely the same as Chris's current '''[[Chris's room#Work room|work room]]''' used for storing toys and shooting videos.

In earlier pictures (when Chris was slimmer and he had yet to start his [[Love Quest]]), we can see that the Chandlers' yard used to be quite lush and beautiful, with a variety of flowers planted around the area, the grass clipped, and the trees healthy. Many people speculate that over the years, Chris's parents got too old and/or too lazy to care for their garden, leaving the area neglected.

The yard now consists of some simply crossed wood planters near the curb and some small shrubs and trees out front. The plants in the planters have long since died. The backyard contains a '''shed''' and a small platform leading to a back entrance. The shed is full of shit, most notably a car, and was once the place where Bob would tinker with machines. At one point, when Chris was a boy, the shed was known as the "dreaming studio of Mr. C and Little C," and Bob would try to teach Chris how to build things - although Chris could not recollect what they had built.<ref>[[IRL Tour of 14 Branchland Court]]</ref> After that, there are some trees and the pen where [[Patti]] once played. Her [[Father Call|5-10 ton doghouse]] still stands, and she is buried nearby. At some point, a tree branch fell on the grave. Being lazy, Chris could not summon the strength to pick the damn thing up.

The Chandlers were known to possess at least two riding lawn mowers. Chris whined about using one in the [[Father Call]]. Barb bought a new mower - a Craftsman Riding Lawn Tractor - for $1,400, on 26 October 2011;<ref>http://cwcki.club/index.php?threads/fb-1-21-17-moving-forward-still-wants-to-sell-the-lawn-tractor.725/page-2#post-7223</ref> five years later, she attempted to sell it on [[Craigslist]] for $595. The second mower is presumably the one seen in photos of the yard after the house fire, as the listing includes the tarp that is seen covering it. The mower had been so inactive that Chris noted the old gas would need to be replaced.

As of [[February 2012]], the yard has been completely obscured by trash, junked cars, and [[DIRTY, CRAPPED BRIEFS|God knows what else]]. In 2013, a troll passing Chris's house in his car uploaded [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cwZKGe4BOSE a video], showing the front yard almost completely covered by an untrimmed lawn, in addition to the above.

In 2013, a video was leaked by [[Alec Benson Leary]] showing the state of Chris's home since the last tour he gave in 2009. Needless to say, especially in light of eyewitness reports of his front yard in 2012, the house became even ''more'' of a mess in the following years. Whereas Chris had at least ''some'' room to maneuver in the 2009 Tour Video, here, the passageways have become so narrow and jam-packed that even he complains about all of the clutter being in his way and begins sounding increasingly [[Stress|annoyed]] as he attempts to navigate the claustrophobic environment. The kitchen, in particular, has become an unsightly mess--the Chandlers apparently couldn't be half-assed to put away their groceries, so it's strewn all over the place. The living room, already an ocean of rubbish, has gotten worse, with the accumulated clutter now towering over Chris to the point where he has to stretch to get footage of it. The bathroom hasn't been cleaned since the [[ShowerClean|last video Chris released of him cleaning it]] - and he even admits so himself in the video.

Even the stairs of his home have become cluttered with nonsense such as Christmas ornaments, boxes, and bags, which could spell disaster if Chris or his mother have to evacuate the premises. Also notable is the fact that every so often, Chris can be observed picking up random pieces of garbage from the floor as well.

In [[Chris and his ego|typical Chris-Chan fashion]], he describes his room as "the cleanest of the whole house", despite it having unsightly masses of clothes everywhere and even an unmade bed that he couldn't be bothered to at least straighten up before making this ill-advised video.

When he steps outside, he basically confirms what trolls have documented as early as 2012: that his lawn is ''completely'' overgrown to the point where it has utterly consumed one of the structures in his yard. Also unsurprising is the fact that after Bob's death, the garden shed has been completely abandoned.

Given his commentary, it ''almost'' seemed like Chris acknowledges that he has kept his home in a very unacceptable condition....right until he blames [[Borb|his parents]] for being "hoarders" and [[Chris_and_remorse#Shifting_blame|totally shifting blame away from himself]], ''despite'' being the "man" of the house.

By this time, the bug infestation appears to have been gotten rid of, or at least contained. It was stated before that the infestation was so bad that Chris was confined to his room in order to avoid getting bitten, but in this video, no bugs are seen and Chris makes no mention of them.

==2014 house fire==

On 10 January 2014, a fire broke out at the Chandler household. According to Chris, this was caused by a worn extension cord plugged into a coffee machine, which sparked and started the blaze. Chris, his mother, the beagles, and Lucy (one of the cats) made it out safely, surprising when you consider how much clutter was obstructing the stairways. The firefighters could not effectively navigate the house through either door and were forced to enter through the windows. Sadly, one of the cats (revealed to be Scamper by Chris in February 2016) perished in the fire from smoke inhalation and was later buried in the backyard.

The Chandlers escaped with little more than the clothes on their backs. Chris wrote that he was able to take his wallet, medication for his mother, some clothes, and his iPhone. The day after the fire, he and his mother were allowed to reenter the structure, and he learned to his relief that many of his personal possessions, including his games, his computers, and his artwork, had survived. His [[Lego]] [[high school]] survived, albeit partially melted. Chris was also observed on [[Miiverse]] shortly after the fire, suggesting that he managed to save his [[Nintendo]] 3DS or Wii U at some point. However, it can be assumed that much of the hoard suffered fire, smoke, and/or water damage.

As completely tragic as this incident was, it did not come as much of a surprise, given Barbara's hoarding and Chris's unwillingness or inability to control his mother's compulsions or properly clean. As pointed out by quite a few concerned people, the house had ''always'' been a health and safety hazard, and it was only a matter of time before disaster struck. Sadly, Chris was unable or unwilling to act on this well-meaning advice, and, as a result, reaped what he and his family had sown.

Chris and his mother stayed at a [[Rental House|rental house]] in nearby [[wikipedia:Barboursville, Virginia|Barboursville]] for most of 2014 as repairs to 14 Branchland Court were made. They also rented a storage locker. To the shock of absolutely no one, Chris and Barb managed to trash that house up as well; photos taken by Chris showed rodent shit on the house's carpeting, and [[Rental House Tour|eyewitness reports]] showed that the conditions in the rental house were basically the same as they were at 14 Branchland Court. Trolls reported in [[April 2015]] that the house was still vacant four months after Chris and Barb moved out.

For reasons which are not entirely clear, the renovation of the house took much longer than anticipated. Nevertheless, the worst fears, that the house would be condemned or the renovations would not be finished, were unrealized. In December 2014 and January 2015, the Chandlers moved back in.

==Post-fire renovation==

On the 6th of December, 2014, Chris announced on [[Facebook]] that his home had finally been repaired, and he would be moving back in near the start of the [[2015|new year]]. While some were hopeful that Chris would learn from this experience, take better care of his home and not cause it to be the clusterfucked fire hazard it was last time, it ''really'' hasn't seemed hopeful, [[Autism|given]] [[Barb|certain]] [[Chris_and_health#Living_conditions|factors]].

Ever a busy man, Chris managed to fit a [[26 December 2014|run-in with the law on Boxing Day, followed by two days in jail]] into his moving schedule. Once he was released on bond on 29 December, Chris was shortly back to complaining about having a "Charlie Horse [sic]" from moving his mother's hoard back to the house.

After Chris's second hearing in April started and finished half an hour early, and they failed to make it in, the Christorians who took it upon themselves to attend decided to make the most of their visit and go on a tour of and take photos of the major places in Chris' life, including 14 Branchland Court. Their photographs showed that the Chandler headquarters have been modernized, and no longer looks like ''total'' shit. This is partially due to the modernized exterior, and partially due to most of the hoard still being in storage. Photographs also showed some sort of outhouse in the backyard raised off the ground, and currently full of the hoard.

In the few years after having the house rebuilt, the Chandlers' negligence and hoarding are slowly turning it back to its filthy, cluttered past, proving, like mother like son, Barb is just as incapable of learning from her mistakes as Chris. Ironically, the Garden, which in the years before the fire had become increasingly bereft of plants, is just about the only part of the property which is thriving as of 2020, having become overgrown and unkempt with weeds, wildflowers, and plants encroaching from neighboring properties.

In October 2017, one of the bathrooms had a clogged shower drain, possibly stuffed up with Chris's seaweed [[hair]]. His solution was to pour Liquid Plumr into it and whine that every house should have two bathtubs.<ref>[[October 2017 tweets#Clogged shower drain]]</ref>

Chris filmed the third tour during [[March 2018]]. While his house is shown being '''''very''''' slightly less messy than it normally is, even that's being ridiculously charitable. Chris's room is packed to the rafters with all sorts of clothes and Rubbermaid bins, though it's semi-accessible, and shockingly, so are the oven and kitchen sink. Overall, he is shown having less of a struggle walking through his house, but there is still plenty of junk accumulating over the tables, hallways, kitchen, and shelves, suggesting it's only soon before long that the house will return to being the fire hazard that it was not too long ago.

The eerie images unintentionally capture the abandoned state of the yard, including the gazebo, [[Bob]]'s old greenhouse, the unkempt, weed-strewn, and thinning lawn, and a derelict shed, as backdrops against colorful game characters. In essence, the images are a look into Chris's psyche and his own abandonment of [[reality]] for escapist fantasies.

==Mortgage==
The Chandler family has assumed two mortgages on 14 Branchland Court. Among the Chandlers' various [[debt]]s, the mortgage is the primary cause of the [[Financhu Crisis]]: acute circumstances relating to it have caused Chris to resort to begging many times. As for the reason why the Chandlers took on said mortgage can be summed up to paying off Barb's credit card debt; a bad move. On one occasion, [[Chris and negotiation|he pleaded idly]] with his [[TRUE and LOYAL fanbase]] to pay the entire mortgage at once for him.<ref>[[August 2016 Facebook posts#Who wants to pay our mortgage?!]]</ref> Moreover, the Chandlers have repeatedly neglected their monthly payments. When the [[Idea Guys]] had threatened to destroy [[CWCville]] and his [[eBay]] sales were not enough to meet their $6,000 ransom, Chris withheld a mortgage payment to save his [[Chris and reality|fictional setting]].

Chris's closest flirt with financial ruin occurred on 8 [[May 2018]], when he announced that the home could be foreclosed upon if they failed to make two mortgage payments the next day;<ref>[[WE NEED MONEY FOR MORTGAGE NOW, PLEASE#Please, HELP US! FORECLOSURE RISK HIGH!|Please, HELP US! FORECLOSURE RISK HIGH!]]</ref> fans donated enough to prevent this. Onlookers speculate, given [[Chris and money|Chris's financial habits]] and [[Barb]]'s other debts, that after she passes away, that the estate could well be liquidated after her passing, or that Chris may struggle to keep up mortgage payments in the face of so many [[My Little Pony|tempting]] [[Vidya|distractions]].

Chris claimed in [[Jail Letter - 30 October 2021|a jail letter]] that the "Sonichu Temple" now had a mortgage of less than $90,000 (assuming he has mastered the distinction between the [[Chris and science#Algebra|greater than and less than symbols]]), and begged for donations to [[Barbara Chandler|Barb]] to help pay this.

Although the Chandlers have mostly kept to themselves over the years, they have had some notable interactions with their neighbors:

*[[Sarah Nicole Hammer]] was one of Chris's neighbors when they were children.

*At some point in 2014, a deeply paranoid Chris told of a feud with a preteen neighbor whom he had suspected of stealing his old homework and passing it in for credit. According to Chris, the Chandlers (Barb and Chris) contacted Animal Control on the neighbor's cat and had it put to sleep, after it had scratched Chris. Chris claims the neighbor retaliated by training a snake to invade 14 Branchland Court, egging the house and stealing some items.<ref>[[Catherine E-mails#Chris the Cat-Killer]]</ref>

*In 2015, Chris uploaded [[A few kicks]], a video of him kicking a soccer ball around in his yard. At one point, the ball enters the road and Chris gives chase. He abruptly stops once the ball enters a neighbor's driveway, possibly meaning that he had been told not to go on that property without permission.

*In 2017, one of Chris's cats, [[Sorbet]], was injured while outside and ended up under a neighbor's gutter.<ref>[[May 2017 Facebook_posts]]</ref>

When occupied by the Chandlers, visits to 14 Branchland Court, at least until Chris inherits the house and trades the deed to it for magic beans, are ill-advised. Harassing the Chandlers at their house is not only the paragon of [[ween]] behavior, ''it is also a criminal offense'' and will probably result in you getting arrested. Chris and especially Barb shouldn't have to contend with the troll horde within the sanctum of their own home. We shouldn't have to be saying it at this point, but '''do not visit 14 Branchland Court to troll Chris or Barb'''.

Unless, of course, you ''are'' personally invited. To date, Chris has extended personalized invitations to [[Clyde Cash]], the [[Magical Man]], [[Liquid Chris]], the staff of [[Asperchu#Asperpedia|Asperpedia]], [[Catherine]] and pretty much anybody that has ever thought ill of Chris to come to his house, so that he might [[Death threats|murder them]]. To date, none of them except Magical Man has taken him up on his offer. The scenario of such a meeting would likely be reminiscent of the [[hooker incident]], wherein the police would be promptly summoned whilst Chris hides, crying, behind his mother.

Despite this, some fans have made the trip out to visit Chris at his home and have posed for photos with him, showing that Chris had lightened up on his stance.

In 2021, after [[Jail Saga|Chris was jailed for incest]], some weens made the pilgrimage to harass Barb for information about Chris, leaving empty-handed.

Giving away one's home address on the Internet is generally considered unwise. Chris has probably never realized this, or perhaps he realizes that [[trolls]] have so thoroughly and permanently violated his privacy that attempting to preserve it is a lost cause. In any case, he has publicly announced his home address on a number of occasions, in YouTube videos and elsewhere.

* Shortly after 21 July 2009, when [[CChanSonichuCWC]] released a video promoting his ''Sonichu'' merchandise, Chris posted his address in a YouTube comment in hopes of a physical confrontation with the "impostor".

The '''Financhu Crisis''' is a term coined by users from [[Kiwi Farms]] to describe the steep decline in the Chandler family's [[Chris and money|financial management]] beginning in early [[2016]]. Signs of the Chandlers' worsening finances were made apparent by the increasing amounts of begging videos and donation requests on [[YouTube]] and [[Facebook]].

In June 2017, [[Christian Weston Chandler|Chris]] began to take his [[Patreon]] account more seriously and recommenced drawing Sonichu comic pages. He has gotten several hundred dollars per month for his efforts, and payments continued until 2 August 2021, when his Patreon account was shut down. As a result, begging had temporarily subsided.

In mid-2018, however, begging resumed, due to an alleged extortion plot by the [[Idea Guys]] which involved threatening to destroy Chris's imaginary land [[CWCville]] if he did not pay them. It is claimed by the [[Guard Dogs]] group that Chris paid the Idea Guys around $6,000 in the form of gift cards and video game accessories.<ref>[[The Chris-Chan Extortionists]]</ref> Chris and Barb were left on the brink of foreclosure and Chris repeatedly claimed to need assistance with buying enough food for his family.

Chris [[Debt hearing (eyewitness account)|stopped caring]] about the Financhu Crisis by 2019, because of the [[Dimensional Merge]] and the generous backing from [[Aly Hirschberg]] and other [[financial enablers]]. Chris continues to beg, but only for [[conventions]], toys, and video games. Chris now also believes that he has vast wealth in <s>[[CWCville]]</s> [[C-197|Dimension C-197]] to pay off the creditors, but creditors do not buy into fictional worlds and have managed to [[Debt#Court cases|sue him]] for at least $11,606.15 (as of 23 February 2022).

To this day, the Chandlers' financial woes are caused by their own irresponsible behaviors. Chris, [[Chris and money|learning absolutely nothing over the years]], has squandered any available money on [[Lego|children's toys]], [[PS4|video games]], [[McDonald's|fast food]] and [[sex toys]]. Barb, on the other hand, has simply been ignoring long-term debts and letting them pile up to alarming amounts, armed only with vain hopes that her manbaby would raise money for her bills.

'''Chris''' has made some efforts to generate income for the household over the past few years (bar that of [[Chris and stress|actually finding a job]]), which included opening an [[Etsy|Etsy shop]] in [[2015]]. However, any profits gained would immediately go straight to toy purchases, an irresponsible move that would turn out to be a recurring problem that keeps the Chandlers in the red. The shop would eventually shut down from Chris lazily not fulfilling Etsy orders, but he would still find some revenue from the occasional [[eBay]] sales of select merch from the [[14 Branchland Court|hoard]]. To further compound the issue, Chris has been instilled with a very real belief that [[fans]] are willing to drop large sums of money into his bank account [[Chris and his ego|for nothing]], an expectation that has since been strengthened by the $1,000 donation by [[DStecks]] in [[September 2015]]. This belief would take on the form of the many begging videos that highlight the saga to this day.

On [[September 2016]], she faced lawsuits from Discover and Capital One for failing to pay the large amounts of her credit card debt, according to Virginia District Court records. Despite actively begging for money since 2016, and [[WE NEED MONEY FOR MORTGAGE NOW, PLEASE|a near-miss]] with foreclosure and homelessness in May 2018, Chris has not attempted to get a job (then again, the [[Cutco|last job he's had]] dates all the way back to [[2003]]). One of his real-life friends, a woman from his Pokémon club named Alexa, became concerned after seeing Chris repeatedly beg on Facebook. She suggested, in November 2016 and again in April 2017,<ref>[[November 2016 Facebook posts#Barb pawns jewelry, Chris decides to join Patreon]]</ref><ref name=getajob/> that he contact one of her family members who works at the Virginia {{abbr|DARS|Department for Aging and Rehabilitative Services}}, a government service that helps disabled individuals find work. At the first suggestion, Chris didn't follow through, and at the second, he fired off a rant against getting a job, forcing Alexa to back down.

In his rant, Chris gave the following flimsy excuses:

* He was busy helping Barb and the pets (despite having no trouble in going on [[BronyCon|a three-day trip to another state]] without bringing them along in August 2017).
* [[Chris and his Ego|Trolls ruined his "background check"/reputation]]. While it is true that a Google search on Chris reveals unsavory details, they are only records of facts, and there are agencies that find work for [[slow-in-the-mind]] adults that would not care about minor crimes or indiscretions.
* Finding a job runs the risk of being discriminated against for his [[tomgirl]] gender.
* [[Chris and stress|Stress]].
* He fears being incompetent.

Later, Chris added more excuses for not wanting to work:

* In October 2017, Chris claimed that he was [[Chris and reality|too busy]] with [[CWCville]] and his [[imaginary friends]], in addition to helping Barb and the pets.<ref>[[Kiwi Farms posts (LegendaryChristorian)#Good Day, People! Pin This To The Top]]</ref>
* In June 2019, Chris claimed that he was already employed by God to oversee the [[Dimensional Merge]].<ref name= mergejob/>

Most of his claimed reasons hold no weight. A "background check", as explained by [[Jackie]] and [[Kim Wilson]] many times, only applies [[Chris and the Law|to legal records]], and Chris's misdemeanors [[Honor roll|would not prevent him]] from getting a job. Fellow lolcows like [[William Elliott Waterman]] and [[Kenneth Erwin Engelhardt|Kenneth Engelhardt]] also have their names linked to their internet shenanigans, yet they have gained employment. Furthermore, discrimination on the basis of gender is illegal, especially as a result of {{w|Bostock v. Clayton County|a Supreme Court ruling}} on 15 June 2020.

In reality, getting a job would probably reduce his stress over needing to beg in order to afford more toys: his excuses for being fearful of making mistakes, and his obsession over his imaginary friends, are blocks set down by his own mind – revealing that, rather than growing up and assuming responsibility for his future, he would rather [[Chris and psychology|remain a manchild]] forever.

Chris's only plausible claim was in May 2018, when he feared that weens and A-logs will harass him at work, similar to how they harassed the management of [[The End Games]] and [[Anytime Fitness]] into [[ban]]ning him.<ref name=harassment>[[May 2018 social media posts#A new excuse not to get a job|May 2018 social media posts § A new excuse not to get a job]]</ref>

==Why you shouldn't donate to Chris==
Buying things from Chris and/or donating to him is not at all recommended, mainly because:

* Chris has habitually neglected his customers. He has repeatedly failed to ship orders to his buyers on time and will ignore messages from customers asking about their purchases, or give a myriad of excuses as to why they haven't shipped. If he does get around to shipping them, his [[naive]] methods of "packaging" often cause items to arrive damaged. Other times, he simply won't ship items at all (as seen perfectly with his [[Patreon]]).
* If Chris is angry enough, he can use your information against you. This was infamously seen when [[Mr. Smith]] attempted to purchase a medallion from Chris and, after Chris failed to make and ship one, filed a claim against him on [[eBay]], causing Chris's PayPal to be locked. Chris responded by furiously ''doxing'' Mr. Smith and another buyer on [[Facebook]], both of whom eventually received [[prank calls]] from [[weens]]. The information that PayPal releases to eBay sellers includes your full name, home address, e-mail address, eBay username, and (possibly) phone number. In other words, "the exact kind of information you wouldn't want a screeching manchild to post in a public place when it's followed by hundreds of cannibalistic Internet trolls."<ref>[https://kiwifarms.net/threads/important-dont-buy-from-chris.5048/]</ref>
* Chris will piss away your money. As stated above, Chris and Barb have had a long history of irresponsible spending habits, which is the biggest reason why they've fallen into debt. Even if he does manage to ship something to you without any sort of hassle, or [[December 2020 social media posts#Chris begs for money|claim he won't spend your cash on toys]], chances are still extremely high that Chris will immediately blow your money on Legos, action figures, video games, and/or other stuff, and then immediately go back to begging.

During Chris's stay in jail, not only would he beg for people to donate to his inmate account, but also beg for people to help pay off Barb's mortgage and to have her [[Jail Letter - 29 July 2022|relocated]] so he could move back in once he was released. However, there has been speculation that Chris had been placed in section 8 housing upon release. Whether or not his tugboat was [[Monthly tugboat#Possible suspension and return|suspended]], the money can not be garnished by the creditors. So as it stands, it seems that Chris may not be too worried about paying off his unsecured debt, as he has other [[Post-jail sightings (2023)|more important things to deal with]].

As for Barb, her debt is secured debt. While she's still paying it off with her own tugboat (considering she's been spotted at 14 BC as recent as [[August 2023]]), it's very likely the house will be foreclosed once she kicks the bucket.
