This suggests he likely took another trip to Finland.

To date, Chris has remained secretive about his interest in Finland and Finnish, although he did film himself singing two songs in Finnish (Silakka Apajalla and Sakkijarven Polkka) as part of his AI Chris Chan Vs Christ Chan series. While the series features Chris attempting to sing songs in multiple foreign languages, most of which he has never studied in Duolingo, Finnish is notably the only language he has attempted more than once. In May 2025, when confronted about Flutter and Finland in a supposedly private call with a donor, Chris outright denied both traveling to Finland and studying the language on Duolingo, despite the photographic evidence. In May 2025, when confronted about Flutter and Finland in a supposedly private call with a donor, Chris outright denied both traveling to Finland and studying the language on Duolingo, despite the photographic evidence. Chris tried to claim that he hadn't been using Duolingo, and had only used it mainly for learning math, although his publicly viewable statistics on his profile immediately shuts down this lie. He also denied being previously seen at the Dallas airport, but did however admit to residing in Big Island, Virginia after some pressure.

Ever since his first trip, Chris's social media activity regularly slows down a bit while he is away in the country (see April 2024 and June 2026 social media posts for obvious examples), and a prepared backlog of prerecorded videos usually release on a schedule. Chris also avoids recording videos entirely while in Finland, and does this in an attempt to cover up his absence and make nothing seem out of the ordinary. In April 2026, after a commenter pointed this out, Chris angrily dismissed the notion, though unconvincingly, basically arguing that he isn't always in Finland when he releases a prerecorded video, and that Emgo316 also releases content on a schedule (a rather irrelevant point). Ever since his first trip, Chris's social media activity regularly slows down a bit while he is away in the country (see April 2024 and June 2026 social media posts for obvious examples), and a prepared backlog of prerecorded videos usually release on a schedule. In February 2026, Chris confessed to various sins in hopes of redeeming himself, one of which being that he had "Lied when I was asked about not being in certain places where I was bigfoot photographed," which he then rationalized by writing "I am not at liberty to talk about those experiences or individuals online." Still, Chris refuses to talk about Finland or traveling at all, although he has now seemingly alluded to opening up about it being an uncertain possibility. ===Superdry===
Superdry Limited (formerly stylised as SUPERDRY®︎冒険魂) is a British clothing company, and owner of the Superdry & Co label. Since 2024, Chris sometimes wears a blue shirt or hoodie which reads "Superdry" on the front, regularly in videos or out in public. Likely unbeknownst to Chris, it serves as more circumstantial evidence that he has been to Finland, as there are actually 0 Superdry locations in Virginia. There was, however, a Superdry location at the Mall of Tripla until their lease expired in September 2025. Superdry is also widely more known and successful in Europe than in the United States. Flutter herself has also been seen wearing a very similar Superdry shirt.

Many observers have theorized that Flutter may be Finnish or Finnish-American; she and Chris were first seen in public together in September 2023, a month before Chris began studying Finnish on Duolingo. Additionally, Flutter was observed in December 2023 flying from to , where she was picked up by Chris. Charlotte Douglas is a major airline hub with service to Helsinki, which lends credence to the hypothesis that she lives in Finland when not visiting Chris.

In July 2025, a Reddit user spotted Chris with Flutter shopping at a market in Rauma, Finland, and reported that he was "talking to a cashier at the booth, clumsily trying to speak finnish but then asked for english." Rauma is located approximately 255 kilometers (or 160 miles) from Helsinki, a major population center, and is also not a very notable town, having only about 30,000 residents. This makes Chris's presence there a mystery.

For obvious reasons, Chris tries his best to maintain a semblance of a private life and protect people he believes to be his friends. Seemingly motivated by not doxing his gal pal (and possible sweetheart) Flutter, Chris has not once ever publicly mentioned or admitted to going to Finland.

Chris is seemingly eager to mention his using Duolingo, but does not like to specify which language he is learning. On 11 November 2023, Chris posted to Twitter to "comment that I have been enjoying Duolingo in freshening up my other language," and give feedback about their coverage of conjugations. In a YouTube livestream on 20 November 2023, Chris recommended using Duolingo to "expand your mental abilities" by studying "an alternative second language," though recommended looking elsewhere for studying conjugations. In a YouTube livestream on 17 February 2024, when asked if he was learning Finnish currently and why, Chris replied with "I don't know what you're talking about.
