I've run across several templates that aren't being used, and I assume that some of them are just set up so we have them in case it comes up.  But when I search for this backslash-pipe thing I can't find any reference to it anywhere else.  I assume it's a metatemplate like the other &amp;quot;!&amp;quot; templates, but what's it for, and why do we have it?
