Basically I only linked the images of some icons to articles based on relevancy. At the time of revamping them, only some icons warranted a link. Most of the time, the linked text was sufficient enough to lead people to major articles. The shirt icons were linked to the larger versions of a shirt if it existed, and the name of the shirt was linked to related articles for some "themed" shirts. One thing we lack is a general "WTF" icon for subject matters that are completely unclear - we've had a few videos recently where none of our current subject icons really covers it.
