Update: In [[October 2018]], Chris apparently received a Sonichu plushie from a fan. That implies someone in the community is capable of needlework and doll manufacture, perhaps the same individual who supplied Sonichu dolls to Tings and other fans.

Similarities between Sonichu 9 and Neon Genesis Evangelion:
 
* Ivy says "I pray for your safe voyage to me" etc. like what Misato says to Shinji by the elevator
* Son-Chu plays the same role as Eva Unit 01
* Angelica fights Decepticons like angel Evas fight Asuka's Eva
 
There are obviously some similarities, but they are few and surface-level. Sonichu 10 is more emotionally potent and remains my favorite issue.
