Jiggliami sums it up nicely

One of the biggest bragging points Chris likes to bring up is his status as a celebrity. He considers it to be the pinnacle of human accomplishment to be able to get famous without ever having to leave your room (as in, important enough to put on his fucking resume), which is a convenient mindset as he makes a point to stay in it as much as possible.

Chris's mindset

Y'all should know me by now, but if you don't, I am Christian Weston Chandler, the original creator of Sonichu, the Electric Hedgehog Pokemon, back on March 17th, 2000. Any dates earlier are void.
Chris, on the second Captain's Log ever.

Chris's mindset in general seems to be that if he has done anything at all, and let the world know, then he's automatically famous, or at very least entitled to fame. Now, a rational person might consider creating the Sonichu comic a minor achievement in itself, if more than a little bit on the lame side; not many people would be capable of creating hundreds of pages of comics, even if the end results were relatively crappy. But the mere fact that the comic was created tells Chris that people should respect him for that fact alone — not the quality or wide readership of the comic. He thinks that merely making the comic available makes him famous; he subsequently feels it necessary to say "you all should know me by now." Likewise, he feels everyone should "know him by now" by merely participating in the LittleBigPlanet community and creating something,[1] oblivious to the fact that quite a few people have been confirmed to have actually purchased the game.

Chris's need for fame can be blamed on many things. The first is his initial victory in the Sonic the Hedgehog Watch & Win Sweepstakes, from which he won the $1000 video game shopping spree on sheer dumb luck. This resulted in some mild media coverage in his hometown, and probably nowhere else (do you remember seeing it on TV?) but to him, the simple act of recording is synonymous with fame. But he feels that he is destined to win everything and that, if he loses, the winner cheated in some way. He also got a smattering of local newspaper coverage in the 1993 newspaper article IT TOOK A TALKING BEAR TO GIVE THE NAME A YOUNG BOY LOVES, but it's likely that he doesn't know about this article.

It probably doesn't help that his mom coddles him so much that it allows him to even be that way in the first place. This was first reinforced when, after graduating high school, he raged about how he should have won the better artistic awards for his work, despite them not being so great. The biggest offender was when Adam Stackhouse won the Chop Chop Master Onion's Rap Showdown contest, causing Chris to go off on a major rage spree — including posting a video of Chris shooting a picture of Adam with a toy gun — and even admitting he wanted to win so he could win Megan Schroeder's heart.

Another note is that he believes that anything he uploads to the internet will be instantly seen by the intended recipient, as in that video directed to Kacey's parents. YouTube is a big place, and it's doubtful that they follow his exploits, assuming that they actively use it at all. And if they did, they wouldn't want him anywhere near their daughter.

When confronted with someone who claims not to know who he is, he seems skeptical and surprised.[2]

Personal army

As has befallen many an individual posting on the internet, Chris believes that he has a wide fanbase that adores him. While this is normally just delusion coming from page views, Chris believes this despite the fact that his fans have repeatedly proven to be comprised exclusively of trolls. He addresses them whenever he feels they would be most helpful, such as when he needs votes in a contest or needs a troll taken care of, and speaks with full expectation of people following through with these orders simply because he gave them. This idea was reinforced with the failed trolling of the GameStop Be A Star Sweepstakes, and it's possible that's what drives him to continue acting this way.

The best example came on 27 August 2009, when Chris implored his fanbase to remove every last video that showed the tour of his house after his family found out about it. To this day, mirrors of the video still pop up of the two-part video to mock Chris.

Despite the belief that his fans adore him, he is notoriously inattentive to the sort of things that allow a person to continue having fans. He believes that people love him for his comic, and yet updates are often months apart. Also, he blames this on stress caused by the trolls. And, since he assigned his fans to take care of the trolls for him, he's essentially blaming them for the fact that he can't keep updates regular.

Celebrity by proxy

Best displayed in his Wikipedia exploits, Chris believes that simply being vaguely connected to a famous person makes you famous. Under the (false) belief that he is a descendant of Anne Boleyn, Chris cited this as a reason why he was relevant enough to have his own Wikipedia article. During a period of trolling, he believed that a friendship with Vanessa Hudgens meant that his name should be added to her article. When these ideas were shot down, he became indignant.

Television appearances

As someone who has so much of their world revolve around television, being on it is of great importance to Chris. Any news story which happens to show him is proudly displayed on his DVD, regardless of the fact that the reporters focused far more on circumstances and events than who he was. During a news report on McIntire Park, Chris made sure he walked past the camera while another person was being interviewed, flashing his medallion just to make sure everyone knew who he was. Even more, when he was present at a town meeting concerning McIntire Park (which was filmed), Chris attempted to use it as a means to speak his mind, only for the councilmen there to shoot him down.

More recently, he thanked G4 for featuring him on Web Soup. He went on about himself and how honored he was, completely oblivious to or ignoring the fact that Web Soup is a show with the sole purpose of making fun of idiots on the internet. All that mattered was that he was featured.
