*We could, but I'd be careful about over-complicating it. The icons were originally just supposed to be a guide so you could quickly identify a video that you were looking for, and people are probably more likely to remember subject, style and saga than what he was wearing or the time of day. --Ed Kelly 14:28, 16 October 2009 (CEST)

**Although perhaps a List of Videos by Shirt page would be useful if people are willing to maintain it? --Ed Kelly 14:31, 16 October 2009 (CEST)

sortable table?

perhaps we should make this into a sortable table format, so that users can sort by saga, et cetera. i like the current formatting, though, as it's probably a bit easier to read than a table, so maybe the table should go on a new page called Table of Captain's Logs or something --cogsdev/vedsgoc 07:51, 13 October 2009 (CEST)

  • until we can find a good way to sort the icons, we can't really do it as a table. i'll look into this --cogsdev/vedsgoc 08:18, 13 October 2009 (CEST)
    • Undid the table until we can find a way to make it sortable. --Ed Kelly 08:21, 13 October 2009 (CEST)

        • What happens when the video has more than one subject/style/saga icon? --Ed Kelly
        • Actually, I prefer the list style because it's easier to read, but since I'm a newfag I'll let you guys decide what's best.--Ed Kelly 08:55, 13 October 2009 (CEST)
        • Also, yyyy/mm/dd dates suck.--Ed Kelly 09:16, 13 October 2009 (CEST)
  • icons are now sortable. they're templates, so transclude them into the table with name. they work by including a hidden string that the table's sorting script can read(it ignores images). there's a list of available icon templates here. regards table layout, we're thinking of using something like this so that the description is on a new line but moves with the information directly above it. thoughts?
    • Yeah, I like that.--Ed Kelly 10:52, 13 October 2009 (CEST)
  • i moved the table to Table of Videos, and moved the key into a template(which you can easily edit using the little edit link i added to it while we work on it). there's not much point adding stuff to the table until the list is finished, though, so please continue the fantastic work that's been done on this article --cogsdev/vedsgoc 11:27, 13 October 2009 (CEST)
    • Thanks, Cogsdev. --Ed Kelly 13:36, 13 October 2009 (CEST)

new icon types?

perhaps we should add new icons for information such as how the video was released(leaked or youtube), which shirt he was wearing(using Chris and fashion as reference), time of day, etc. --cogsdev/vedsgoc 04:57, 16 October 2009 (CEST)
