Summary

Halva is a kind of dry, crumbly confectionery popular in the Balkans and the Middle East, made using sesame or sunflower tahini. Whilst halva was likely known during Biblical times, king Solomon is not known to have prophesied about it. The consistency and texture of halva can vary based on its ingredients and the country it's made in.

Depicted: Sunflower halva. Not in two halves.
