I prefer to have this discussion away from the video page. Chris can take a look at the talk page and all of the plan will be reduced to nothing. Head on down to 789chan.org to /cwc/ or here: http://trollingtrain.10.forumer.com/--[[User:NasuGrave|NasuGrave]] 07:41, 30 August 2010 (PDT)

Chris and repetition

Brother, you don't know the half of it. Seriously, if you pay close attention, Chris rarely says new things, he tends to say the same things over and over. In conversations, he'll tell people the same anecdotes about himself (the pink eye story for example), he uses the same phrases over and over, etc. I think a tiny portion of this might be because Chris was raised on mass media, he repeats thing since mass media is all about that. --Champthom 03:31, 4 November 2009 (CET)

It's true, and I think part of it is pathological (I've known a number of people who are at least as inundated in media as Chris is/has been, and they can communicate far more effectively). He definitely has trouble making himself understood and communicating in English: note how disjointed his speech is and how much more (relatively, anyway) coherent his writing is. I think when he hits upon a phrase or word that he feels perfectly communicates his ideas, he's loathe to let it go, because he knows how hard it is for him to get his point across. He really is so staggeringly non-creative that he has a hard time expressing the same idea two different ways. Sygerrik 03:45, 4 November 2009 (CET)

I think you're really onto something here. Recently in the Father Call Chris busted out the "More arguments than flies in a garbage dump" line again. It's a pretty poor analogy, but Chris obviously considers it the only possible way for him to make the point that he and Bob sometimes disagree. I'm really looking forwards to your further writings on this.--Beat 03:24, 13 November 2009 (CET)
