Guitar Hero contest was a competition run by the video game retailer GameStop, which Chris entered around October 2008. The competition required the entrant to send in a photograph of themselves in a "guitar hero pose".
First prize was a $400 gift certificate (some assumptions were that the winner would also star in Guitar Hero: World Tour, though these proved to be incorrect).
Several trolls caught light of Chris' entry and making sure not to repeat the result of the PaRappa the Rapper contest voted for him to win.
Despite some war between trolls, as well as some writing to GameStop's management of what was transpiring, Chris went on to win the competition.
In a later video he made thanking his fans for voting him, he announced the $400 gift card will be shared with the congregation of his church (as long as they didn't want an item above $15). No further information has transpired whether to if he did go through with his promise, but in the upcoming months he became infatuated with one of the female staff members of his local GameStop, to the point she repeatedly tried to have herself reposted to another branch because of his constant presence towards her.
