• I might be a bit late here, but that's just Chris covering his own ass to avoid getting raped for his racism. Punchy IS asian, as evidenced by a fuckton of his mannerisms being stereotypical azn shit. I always thought he was Japanese as well, but I don't think Chris understands the difference between Asian cultures and so sees them all as one thing anyway. Japanese texts

Do we really need to plaster strings of Japanese onto the page?

The translation for Punchy's name is plain inaccurate; The other translations, while correct, are still unnecessary and jarring. We can have a Japanese CWCki later if there are enough people translating it, but there's no point doing it here and now.

I know these are also probably attempts to refer to the stereotyping by Chris, but still, we can explain it well without the plastering. It simply disrupts the flow and clarity of the article. Sidre 06:01, 25 February 2011 (PST)

• Personally I find it misleading, as it may lead first time readers to believe that Chris somehow made a Japanese version of the comic and that is Punchy's name in the Japanese version. I removed it mostly for that reason.--Champthom 12:47, 25 February 2011 (PST)

    • Those would suggest just the same; that a translated Japanese version exists. Yes, to Japanese speakers, (those more competent than myself) it's quite obviously snarking the series, and to people who've been here a while, it's a foregone conclusion that Chris can't quite handle his mother tongue, much less Japanese, but new members would draw the wrong conclusion--that Chandler somehow made a competent Japanese version of the series. --The Mad Butcher Of Insert Country Here 21:50, 2 March 2011 (PST)
