Usage
These usage notes will not be included in articles bearing this template.
This is an inline template used to identify questionable claims that lack a citation to a reliable public source. When used, the page displays "public source needed" in superscript next to the sentence. The format for using this template is as follows:

The idea here is not just to provide a citation for information, but also to ensure that everyone can actually see it. It doesn't do any good to cite a moderated forum that only registered members can read. And any asshole can say they called Chris on the phone and found out something juicy about him. Unless the phone call is published on the internet where we can all see it, it's hearsay at best.
