A book that Chris recently purchased under the guidance of his church's Pastor. It is written by 9-year old Alec Greaven and in Chris's words a is a "Great book." The book itself is a guide on how to gain a [[boyfriend-free girl]], however it's not a good book to take advice from seeing as the pages are 2-3 short sentences long and is advice aimed at children around Alec's age. However, given that Chris is probably around Alec's age mentally, if not younger, than it seems only appropriate.

Despite the fact that Chris has never had a girlfriend, he still disagrees with Alec about how men are the "magnets" and the women are "metal" and that it could go the other way (that is, women can attract men, with men playing a passive role in courting), showing how a 9 year old has a better understanding of gender roles in modern Western society than a 27 year old man(child).

Something to think about is that his Pastor recommended this book to Chris, it could lead us to believe either the Pastor knows how hopeless Chris is with women or that it's a hilarious joke made by his congregation. In any case, it's failure of his friends and family to address the symptoms and not the causes of Chris's problems.

A book that Chris recently purchased under the guidance of his church's pastor. It is written by 9-year-old Alec Greven and in Chris's words is a "great book." The book itself is a guide on how to gain a boyfriend-free girl; however it's not a good book to take advice from seeing as the pages are 2-3 short sentences long, consisting of advice aimed at children around Alec's age. However, given that Chris is probably around Alec's age mentally, if not younger, it seems only appropriate.

Note that the advice given is quite simple: "The first thing you should say to a girl is hi" or "Don't act desperate, girls hate desperate boys". Despite this, Chris believes that the book will help him get a girlfriend, regardless of the fact that keeping an older girlfriend is a lot harder to do than a 9 year old one, and most of Alec's points are null when it comes to older women, especially ones around Chris's age who won't be swooned by a simple "hi" or "I like to draw, how 'bout you?"

Despite the fact that Chris has never had a girlfriend, he still disagrees with Alec about how men are the "magnets" and women are the "metals", and insists that it could go the other way around; that is, women can attract men, with men playing a passive role in courting. This sadly demonstrates how a 9-year-old boy has a better understanding of gender roles in modern Western society than a 27 year old man(child).

Something to think about is that his pastor recommended this book to Chris: it could lead us to believe that either the pastor knows how hopeless Chris is with women, or that it's a hilarious joke made by his congregation. In any case, it's the failure of his friends and family to address the symptoms and not the causes of Chris's problems. [clarify]
