Counselors often tell people that they have to let go of past grudges to move on, as she's tried to advise him before with things such as changing his opinions on the trolls and how to stop them. He interpreted/acted it out it with a full serving of fail, but that's probably what he's doing. No definitive proof unless he can be made to say so, but Rocky is the most likely.
