:Sound permeates metal better than modern materials like fiberglass and foam, though animals with large ears tend to move them to better spatialize where a sound is coming from. To me it looks like Metonic isn't deaf, just hard of hearing. I'm not entirely sure if the armor is fused with Metonic's body or if he can take it off. I actually had not considered the idea that it may not be a removable piece of equipment! If it is in fact a part of Metonic's body which cannot be removed, my theory that he is deaf feels reinforced due to that there are no holes in the metal.. Perhaps he uses some other means to hear? I wouldn't think it would be a wise design choice to place some hearing mechanism underneath the metal... I have too much downtime at work. :Maybe the microphones are in the tips of the ears. If the metal has no electronics, I guess he must be hard of hearing. [[User:AReasonableMan|AReasonableMan]] ([[User talk:AReasonableMan|talk]]) 23:42, 11 June 2019 (UTC)

This is kind of massively retarded of me to be pondering, but wouldn't this style of helmet also restrict his ability to hear? The helmet seems solid, and does not appear to have any holes to allow sound to travel through.

Sound permeates metal better than modern materials like fiberglass and foam, though animals with large ears tend to move them to better spatialize where a sound is coming from. To me it looks like Metonic isn't deaf, just hard of hearing. I'm not entirely sure if the armor is fused with Metonic's body or if he can take it off. If it's part of his body, maybe he has metal ears. AReasonableMan (talk) 20:06, 11 June 2019 (UTC)

Maybe the microphones are in the tips of the ears. If the metal has no electronics, I guess he must be hard of hearing. AReasonableMan (talk) 23:42, 11 June 2019 (UTC)
