Suitressing refers to the practice of oversimplifying a person or thing into a familiar archetype that they may not entirely fit into based on superficial similarities. When this is done, one may then put more prominence on the similarities over the differences.
The practice is named after the Suitress Policy, a policy directed towards Fiona Cooper which has taken cues from the Wallflower Policy. While the policy was in place, Fiona was referred to as "The Suitress".
