Doctor David Alan Chandler, opthalmologist of Virginia, passed on from the 1218 half into the body of his C-197 self-counterpart over a week ago. It was shocking to hear, and more shocking finding the confirmation.
I do not know much about him, other than his profession, the names of his wife and child and what little Mister C., our dad, had told me. Also, he had checked my eye sight on Groundhog Day in 1996 and told me I was near-sighted and needed glasses.
He distanced himself from our dad decades ago, and I hardly saw him, much less our sister, Carol, of whom I know even less.
So, what am I expected to say about him when I don't know much about him?
I feel in this event, but his wife, child and sister feel it worse, since they were closer to him than I was.
I'm sorry I couldn't say much else about Alan, of my two half-brothers who prescribed me my first pair of glasses. That's all. Thank you, Alan. See you again after the Merge completes.
