User talk:DonnieDarko
Hey guys, Donnie here. Long time lurker. Just here to chill and see if I could be of any use. DonnieDarko 00:05, 20 May 2010 (UTC)DonnieDarko
Random shit.
I wonder, how many times has Chrissy said "I am not a bad man," or something to that nature? There should be a repeated phrases category.
Hi there!
Welcome to CWCki! There's a lot to do around here because Chris never does anything himself. I hope you'll stay with us and make many improvements of your own!
- Before you start, be sure to read A Quick Guide to CWCki. This will guide you through the dos and don'ts of editing the world's most accurate wiki. Be especially sure to read this if you consider Anonymous to be legion or if you've just come over from ED. Everything you know is wrong.
- Recent changes is a great first stop, because you can see what other people are editing right this minute, and where you can help.
- If you're looking for things to do, check out the priority listing for things that need to be done, or join a project.
- If you haven't already, create a user page about yourself! If you do, we'll be able to know you better as a member of our community. Just be sure to check out the guidelines first.
- Questions? Please read the FAQ first. Later, you can ask in the Community Portal or on the "discussion" page associated with each article, join the live chat in our IRC channel or post a message on my talk page!
- Once again, welcome to CWCki!
Ooh!
=D Thanks for the welcome message, Cwcki! DonnieDarkoDonnieDarko
Random bitching.
Seriously, why did he give Ivy purple hair? Seriously? Does he hate redheads that much?
- My guess is he wanted to save his orange marker for Bionic. Which is a bullshit reason since Ivy and Bionic never appeared in an episode together, let alone interacted. Further proof that Chris cares more about his shitty recolors than he does about his potential sweethearts.-trombonista 02:54, 16 June 2010 (UTC)
Re: Uh, question.
Hey there, The "Please don't reinvent the wheel" edit was done to your user page. Basically, when adding userbox templates to userpages, they shouldn't be substituted (where you add subst: after the opening braces {{ ). Doing so means that you add all the userbox template's code on to your userpage, not only making it messy to edit but also meaning if we need to update the userbox templates, any changes will not be applied to anyone who substituted it. Substituting also inserts parts of the template which should not be on userpages - such has special template categories. Finally, there are no benefits to substituting - it defeats the purpose of having templates for userboxes in the first place.
When I come across userpages which have substituted templates (obvious by edits to the userpage which add characters in the thousands) I use the phrase "Please don't reinvent the wheel" in the edit summary to make a point that there is no need for a user to duplicate code which already exists in a nice easy-to-use template. I stole it from Champthom.
