To be honest, the Gecko Mantis thing is a nod to the troll Gecko Mantis (who probably chose the name for the reasons you mentioned) and not because of Chris's direct experience.
I believe there's an IRC chat where Chris mentions he's never played a Metal Gear game in his life. But nonetheless, Metal Gear Solid is strong in troll culture especially because Clyde Cash eats that shit up. --Champthom 00:26, 1 May 2009 (CEST)
