Usage

These usage notes will not be included in articles bearing this template.

This template is used to identify users who leave unsigned comments on talk pages.

On talk pages, it is customary for users to sign their comments using ~~~~. The four tildes will render as the commenter's username, and the date and time the comment was posed.

When someone 'doesn't' sign their comments, another user can look up who made the comment using the history function, and then sign the comment for that person by using this template.

The format for using this template is as follows:

{{Unsigned|Dethchemist77}}

- Displays:—Preceding unsigned comment added by Dethchemist77 (talk • contribs)

Note that you must enter the username for the template to work. Simply adding {{Unsigned}} will display:

—Preceding unsigned comment added by [[User:{{{1}}}|{{{1}}}]] ([[User talk:{{{1}}}|talk]] • [[Special:Contributions/{{{1}}}|contribs]])

And that doesn't help at all. So make sure you know who the user is before using the template.
