Make a new Saga?

Even though Chris has been less active over the less couple of years, he has recently (since early March) been giving infomation about what has been happening over the last couple of years. I think we should call this a new Saga "Revalation" Saga. 14recinez 3:40, 14 September 2013 (EST)

the new saga is the Black Sonichu DLC saga, i posted a link to chris chan's facebook post in the news page --Beanmachine91 (talk) 01:02, 10 May 2015 (UTC)

Note

Flipnote Hatena will be shutting down May 31, 2013. Also chris 2013 article needs updating.

Did you know..

Some of the "Did you knows" sound really over-opinionated and A-loggy next to the A-log article of the now.

Ex. "...that Chris is a disgusting human being?", "That Chris cannot dance", I also have a personal gripe with, "...that Chris was born on 24 February, the same day the Nazi party was founded?", as it associates CWC with Nazis. Cleftpalete 10:18, 16 December 2012 (PST)

Project Map Fucking Everything

Started up this project and got a lot of things mapped down.

http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?hl=en&gl=us&ptab=2&ie=UTF8&oe=UTF8&msa=0&msid=116038930500742252038.0004949e055d81dc61c0b

I'd like to get all of the places he mentions/visits/films/rapes marked down on the map, but there's a lot of videos and some of them I never wish to see again. So, it's open collaboration and anyone with a Google account can edit it. Feel free to login and mark down different areas he's visited. Just try to be logical and succinct when adding locations. Don't need every McDonald's marked down. When doing videos of him travelling, try to figure out the path with a line and mark at least one end of it.

Now, a question: Should we make a page for the full map or just link it in the bottom of the "Locations" divs on the other pages? -- Arius 13:49, 9 November 2010 (PST)

  • Put it on the locations template. -- Clyde 13:53, 9 November 2010 (PST)

Slight Error

Chris hasn't gone 5 days without the internet, he logged into youtube 2 1/2 days after he posted the leaving video. Theiselybros 19:46, 26 November 2010 (EST)

Probably should have discussed this before just removing the counter... Smtp 17:02, 26 November 2010 (PST)
It's a non-pedantic count. We're really focusing on how many days he's gone without making a video - which Chris equates to "being on the Internet". --Anonymax 21:30, 26 November 2010 (PST)
Yeah, why is the counter back? I don't know how to re-implement that sort of thing or I would. --Bluedeanie 16:18, 17 December 2010 (PST)

Vandalism?

Some guy named User:Trueandhonest has been going around vandalizing pages lately, claiming to be Chris-chan himself. Most likely it's a troll, but I just wanted to point that out. N. Onymous 15:33, 30 November 2010 (PST)

Does Christian Who Cares know this?

  • It seems that you just answered your own question. As to whether or not Chris knows, I honestly don't think he even cares. He justifies things when it allows him to continue his current lifestyle. He'd probably just say "Well I guess there are some exceptions" and move on. Freecell 16:39, 4 December 2010 (PST)
    • You're right, I should have figured that out. Theres an article about his hypocresy, but its not really necesary to read it; it takes about three seconds of reading this wiki to realize that he's the biggest of hypocrites...--Doctor Whatever 17:46, 4 December 2010 (PST)

CWCki is pretty dead

Chris isn't coming back, at least not for a long time. Despite this, there are a shitton of new editors who drop by every other day and fuck up articles. The only reason I'm really still here is to fix up the edits of these new editors. I think we should start finding the good articles on the wiki and either lock them or put a template saying not to fuck with it a la ED. As articles get fixed up, they get locked down, at least until Chris comes back (if he ever does, anyway). I get that it might take some time or whatever, but it would help preserve the CWCki should Chris never come back or I die or something. Freecell 12:11, 11 December 2010 (PST)

  • Well it was just a matter of time until he would end up in a mental hospital. I always told him so, but whatever. I agree though, that there are probably many articles, that can be protected, especially all the videos, mails, phone calls, chatlogs and whatnot.--Sonichu 19:09, 12 December 2010 (PST)
I'd push for the templating approach rather than protecting. Article protection should be used sparingly. --Anonymax 05:00, 14 December 2010 (PST)
After seeing old articles being still corrected here and there, I tend to agree. Maybe this Chris-free time isn't so bad after all. Gives us time to look through all the old articles.--Sonichu 16:51, 14 December 2010 (PST)
You guys have gone from reporting the antics of a potential criminal to stalking a retard. Really it's pathetic. Do we need to know about uneventful sightings at the mall or his activity on PSN? That sounds like having less of a life than Chris does. Every lolcow eventually dies down and CWC is finished. This isn't like that point when everyone thought he was done for but came back, this is it.--Goatselover 18:05, 29 December 2010 (PST)
Obviously you know something we don't. Go on, enlighten us. Sonichu 21:08, 29 December 2010 (PST)
First, as Champ said pretty much RIGHT below this, this page is about improving the main page exclusively. Take it to Offshore CWCki. I think your targets are probably mostly there. As far as I'm aware, the people remaining here are dedicated to the wiki, rather than devoted to coming up with new ways to stalk Chris.
It's not even about concerning ourselves with how next to foil Chris' Heart-Meter. This is about the chronicling
and archiving of this entire man-child's existence for the benefit and hilarity of all future new-fags

Sightings

Okay, question, as a field agent who is seeming to have multiple run ins with Chris (was the guy who took the kroger pic and I commonly see him when he comes into my work) Where should I put my sightings so I am not cluttering up the other pages? CFACFA

1. Sign posts with 4 tildes (~~~~) if you want to avoid typing all that shit every time.
2. User:CFA/Whateverthefuck is usually the best place to put your stuff.
On another note, I appreciate that CFA is the name of the guy who took that pic, but that doesn't necessarily prove that it's you. Expect people to be critical of that statement. Freecell 01:20, 16 December 2010 (PST)
  • I did sign with 4 and I posted it up on the offshore first. Secondly, I asked because there is no article on sightings. CFA 10:38, 16 December 2010 (PST)CFA
Signing with 4 tildes yields a timestamp. Always. There was no timestamp. The point I was making was that yeah, the guy on offshore is called CFA. However, you just made your account here and there's nothing stopping someone other than offshore's CFA from taking the username. As a result of this, even if there were a "sightings" article, you still wouldn't be able to just dump new shit there because there's no confirmation that you are who you say you are. Freecell 11:10, 16 December 2010 (PST)

Article of the now.

Indeed, I think Bob's bio should be article of the now until Chris uploads his next video. Then the article of the now should be changed into Chris and death, as the most important thing about the next vid will be a demonstration of how Chris reacts (if he does react at all) to the death of a parent.

Chris' family tree.

We should expand on Chris family lineage, because Barbara's father died in an unusual way.

J.O. WESTON, OF RED OAK IS KILLED Joseph Otto Weston, 58, a farmer, was killed late Friday when he apparently fell from his horse drawn wagon on a rural road near Red Oak Charlotte County. Weston, of Red Oak, was hauling wood. Apparently he fell from the wagon and under a rear wheel. His body was discovered after the driverless horse and wagon turned up at a nearby service station. Dr. P.H. Winston, of Clarksville, medical examiner, said death was caused by a broken neck. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Carrie Winn Weston; five daughters, Mrs. Wilborne Bourne, of Richmond, and Mrs. Edward Carey and Misses Barbara Ann, Mabel and Harriet Weston, of Red Oak; three sons, William S. Weston, with the Navy at Norfolk, and DeRoy Lewis and Curtis Wayne Weston, of Red Oak; three brothers, Alfred Weston, of Chase City, and Daniel and Roy Weston, of Red Oak; one sister, Mrs. Mabel M. Blacklidge of Richmond, and one grandchild. A funeral service was held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Antioch Baptist Church. STOP FORCASTING !

Ok i understand the desire to keep every page up to date but STOP FORCASTING! Do not enter anything into the wiki that WILL HAVE TO BE CHANGED at a later date. Don't put on barbs page that she has an upcoming court date, because that will have to be changed after that date happens. PLEASE dont make work for yourself and others.. .-~ Slimz ~-. 10:47, 16 December 2011 (PST)

Actually, I think that one's fine because it's an article that will inevitably have to be updated. The main issue arises on articles like videos, because post-fact people will be paying attention to other things. "Current" articles have to be rewritten all the time. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Freecell (talkcontribs) 10:52, 16 December 2011 (PST)
Event forecasting is fine on a Wiki when further information is expected within a reasonable timeframe. --Anonymax 11:35, 16 December 2011 (PST)
i understand that if its on an active page then its fine, but when the forcasting is put on other pages it becomes a correctin issue. Its much better to just link to the appropriate pages and not speculate. Let the active pages do the talking while the historic data stays historic. In other words October 28th 2011 is currently the central location for court info. other pages dont need specifics until we know what the outcome is.

Current Events

There aren't ant current events on the current events page. So either we need to get rid of it, or we need to put 'current events' in our 'current events' so we can have 'current events' when we read the 'current events' -xzibit .-~ Slimz ~-. 06:09, 4 January 2012 (PST)

Am i the only one who thinks there should be a second 'da update' type thing for significantly less important shit?

I'm not saying I demand this to happen, but it seems like it would be more convenient than checking recent changes for something that might possibly be new information. --I am tomgirlmanbearpig 20:34, 29 January 2012 (PST)

While that's an interesting idea... anything that's "new information" is usually in da update. Anything else is usually something small, not confirmed 100%, or almost insignificant. I suppose we could have something small...but it would be getting updated quite a bit. At the moment, I think "recent changes" is probably a lot like another, smaller, da update would be... --4Macie 21:03, 29 January 2012 (PST)

Birthday Suprise

Chris will be turning 30 this year and that is going to have an effect on the wiki. There are places where phrases like "Even now in his late twenties" are used. This type of language is going to become outdated. Words like "twenties" "20s" and specific ages as in "at 28 years old, Chris still lives at home" will all eventually have to be changed. CARE MUST BE TAKEN when writing about time. Remember EVERYTHING is past tense and you have to assume that the reader is reading the information 10 years from now. I have mentioned time before but the whole 'turning 30' thing needs to be addressed separately. .-~ Slimz ~-. 08:00, 2 February 2012 (PST)

  • here is an example "There is no earthly reason why (barring unrelated catastrophes) a man that is almost thirty years old and has autism should live at home with his parents, specially when his autism is as "high functioning" as Chris's activity and his documentation exemplify it to be." - This will need changing. .-~ Slimz ~-. 08:16, 2 February 2012 (PST)

This is what chris actually believes

I notice this phrase attached to pictures all over the wiki. Some of the pictures are references to Chris believing that he has some sort of chance to get laid. But many are just derogatory and rude. There are times that we KNOW what Chris believes because he tells us but many times the pictures are misleading or speculative. example: the pic on the page Caitlin is an assumption and has no basis in truth. There are many examples of picture captions being downright rude and defamatory. I think its clear that none of us can stand Chris, but we should be more careful about that coming out in the wiki. The facts please, just the facts...slimz - ┌∩┐(◣_◢)┌∩┐ 10:45, 29 February 2012 (PST) oops

Another Quote of the Now Suggestion

Now that the details of Chris's trial has been posted, do you think his outburst about having to pay Michael Snyder's medical bills- "That thieving liar doesn't deserve a red cent!"- would be appropriate? Of course, I'm still kind of a newfag here, so ignore this if you want. I just found it amusing. Alopax 02:40, 11 July 2012 (PDT)

Suggested article: Persecution Complex

I think we definitely need an article about all the times Christian has claimed to suffer/endured harsh trials in his life. For example, equating pulling weeds once with a Marine carrying the dead body of his friend back, as seen in the Father Call. Said Father Call is chock full of instances of Chris claiming to have suffered to prove his worthiness, in fact. I also don't need to mention all the times he has brought up being handcuffed in school, having his attraction sign removed at college, and getting suspended at college, for that was always frequent. He also grossly exaggerated the actions of the trolls in every interaction with friends, obviously... Even in his first ever YouTube video, he makes sure to claim that he has had a rough life: "I was diagnosed with high-functional autism, and I lived a, uh, somewhat rough life. I've had an abusive babysitter at one time." --DawnDusk 16:13, 17 August 2012 (PDT)

  • Seconded. Make sure to include the fact that he's got a legitimate reason so see his bullshit as more important than it is. Also there's a page for requesting articles. Now get to work, soldier. CaveJohnson 20:33, 17 August 2012 (PDT)

So, what's the deal? Is this site just an ironic way of trolling him, or what? Don't know if they actually were responsible, but that's the information we have. I didn't save the screencap, but I'm sure someone has it. And it definitely won't be Forumer. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Freecell (talkcontribs) 17:10, 30 January 2013 (PST)

That was on the first day of the banning, and they settled down, so I doubt they did anything rash. Plus I've been talking to them almost every day, and they dropped it shortly after that day. The thing is that their forum was TOS'd at the same time ours was, so I'm assuming whoever did it reported both forums, and I highly doubt they'd TOS their own forum.--Someguywithnoname 18:08, 30 January 2013 (PST)

Yeah, this. There was some talk of going after champ's forum after the permaban of several people for trying to have something done about a crime committed by one of the mods, but it was dropped as a bad idea before leaving the brainstorming stage. Whoever TOSed either or both forums may have gotten the idea from such talk (and/or, more likely, simply from the predecessor forum having been TOSed before). SpergingAnarchistBagel 12:14, 31 January 2013 (PST)
They probably nuked both forums after they realized that A. They weren't going to be allowed back into the real one and B. Not very many people were going to defect to theirs. So they employed the Samson option. --Holdek 10:40, 31 January 2013 (PST)
That's the most ridiculous thing I've heard lately. At least half to two-thirds of the regulars from spergcityzone had "defected" to spergcentral by the time it was TOSed (basically everyone except for those who didn't try to access either forum during the short interval between the TOSings). Why on earth would anyone involved in running spergcentral TOS their own forum when it was pretty much already established as the successor to spergcityzone? If I had to guess I would guess that punchabunch TOSed both forums to try to get them to blame each other for it, given that they went down within 24 hours of one another and given his enthusiastic talk of "forum war". But there isn't really any way of knowing. At any rate, there's probably some troll who wanted to fuck around with both forums. SpergingAnarchistBagel 12:14, 31 January 2013 (PST)

    • This needs to be on the front page because Chris is saying that his drawing he drew to sell online wasn't meant for profit.

These are disparaging statements. One cannot draw something with the intent of selling it and say they didn't intend any personal profit. I'd put this on the forums, but null can't take jokes.--Shutupman (talk) 20:03, 2 June 2014 (UTC)

Many MediaFire Links are Broken

Hello, so all across the wiki are broken Mediafire links, and it's pretty bad. Is there any way that these links could be repaired by reuploading the appropriate files so that the public can download them? So, This Superrocks3 Guy.....

[3]

This is John Paglia, aka superrocks3. He is apparently whiteknighting for Chris. I'm debating contributing an article about him. I've viewed the rest of his YouTube account. Either he is trying WAAAAAAAAY too hard to troll or severely autistic. Nothing really noteworthy has happened with this guy in regards to interactions with CWC. CWC liked one of his videos, and that's it so far. Should I get this article going or have I found some shit that actually is too minor for the CWCKI?

  • I believe this is too minor for CWCki. There is many people trying to be funny by whiteknighting/trolling Chris, but we don't document them unless they have some actual relation with Chris and unless they have contributed something major to the CWC community (like Robert Simmons V, who actually met Chris, appeared in the comics and contributed to the CWC community by uploading the Church audio). A similar case of someone trying to funny occourred with MasterEliteFighter who "participated" in Chris's "embargos" and got a mention from Chris, but besides that, he is not really that notable to make a page about him. Helis5 (talk) 18:13, 4 February 2016 (UTC)

  • Yeah. I'll probably write up an article about it later. Unfortunately, there's not many editors left. I'm usually the one who adds content to the CWCki lately, but I'm a bit burned out from editing, especially with the ongoing server issues making it difficult. I'll probably get stuff updated in a day or two. Hurtful Truth Level (talk) 17:37, 14 June 2017 (UTC)

Begging counter

For the same reasons as the Template:PSNTracker, mentioned here and here, can we remove the Begging Counter template from the middle of the main page and relocate it to the Financhu Crisis Saga pages? --Holdek (talk) 06:08, 14 June 2017 (UTC)

  • You might want to consider asking people on Kiwi Farms for their opinions, because there's a shortage of editors here. I'm the one who wrote the begging counter and placed it on the main page, because Chris had been doing a ton of begging and I figured it'd be a good way to keep the Financhu Crisis featured on the main page (and because it was funny to see a counter of the days since he last worked on the comic). I think it's still relevant now, because Chris mostly either begs or works on the comic, and the template directly links to both from the main page. Kinda like Article of the Now, but with statistics. Hurtful Truth Level (talk) 17:37, 14 June 2017 (UTC)
  • Yeah, I agree with Hurtful here. The begging counter should remain on the front page. -Windows OS (talk) 19:14, 14 June 2017 (UTC)

Discontinuing social media collection pages

Chris is so active on social media now that it's posing a problem for archiving his posts to the CWCki. There are only about 5 people who actively contribute here, which isn't enough for updating everything.

Collection pages like these are missing posts and the backlog goes back to June:

- https://sonichu.com/cwcki/August_2017_Facebook_posts - https://sonichu.com/cwcki/August_2017_tweets - https://sonichu.com/cwcki/August_2017_Patreon_posts

A solution could be to discontinue those kinds of pages. The templates at the bottom could be updated to mention that and provide respective links to his FB, Twitter and Patreon if people want to see his posts there.

If something he says is big enough for mentioning in an article, the source link could just directly point to his social media post. Some users have been doing that for recent articles. The risk is that Chris might delete, but that's covered by screencaps at KF / CWCki Club.

A drawback is that his text wouldn't be searchable on the wiki, except as partial quotes. Twitter has a great search program as an alternative, but I dunno about FaceBook or Patreon.

Thoughts? Hurtful Truth Level (talk) 06:44, 7 September 2017 (UTC)

  • I don't want to have to comb through the Random Chris Updates threads to find a specific screenshot. I'll put in work to fill in the gaps when I get the chance.--MoarLurk (talk) 09:00, 7 September 2017 (UTC)
  • He made 22 tweets yesterday alone. Higher than average, but it's usually 5-10 per day and it adds up over the past few months. It's a lot to import into the wiki. If we don't discontinue, we should just use the social media pages to archive major posts that would be worthy of a thread or being on Da Update (like your updating the FB page on his lovequest posts from today). I think we should rewrite the opening paragraph present on the social media pages to state that they're now for major updates, as opposed to being a complete archive.Hurtful Truth Level (talk) 14:10, 7 September 2017 (UTC)
  • Another reason archiving is harder now is there are multiple pages covering his posts (FaceBook, Patreon, Tweets, Tweets for NightStar). Sometimes when Chris posts to a social media platform, content from it gets mirrored to the others.
If the post mentions another platform, check that platform's page to see if it's there so you won't go through the trouble of adding in something which is already present. Like, if there's a FaceBook post which refers to Twitter in its timestamp, you can post that content to the Tweets page instead. Hurtful Truth Level (talk) 20:22, 7 September 2017 (UTC)

  • I'm unsure if it counts as begging. I think his aim was to make an updated intro video for his Patreon, and part of his sales pitch was to say he wants money for bills, like with the first one, and he doesn't realize it's laughable to say that in a business video. If you want to change the counter, you can edit this template. Hurtful Truth Level (talk) 03:15, 15 October 2017 (UTC)

He doesn't HAVE to make Rosechu a transwoman- but even in Rosechu's story Sonichu 15, he made sure to make Rosechu a female Pikachu/Raichu. Chris is asking Twitter what should happen, trans-Rose or cis-girl Rose, claiming either answer hurts someone- a fictional character or himself. He claims he has no control over his created world...he does?? its just a comic??

Also, anyone notice that Rosechu is now older than Sonichu by a few months? and they now apparently met on Valentine's day?

22:56 CST 6 December 2017 (Shipper Of Heart)

  • We believe he might be getting ordered around by a yet-to-be-known source. They may be paying him big bucks to do all of these things he's been doing for the past month. Either that, or he's slipping deeper and deeper into insanity. Rtucker913 (talk) 05:24, 7 December 2017 (UTC)
  • Possibly, but I thought he would be excited to reveal that yet another character was trans-female (also odd since Roberta is trans, apparently Mother Rosechu is trans, and 'Grandma Christine' is trans). But again, in the opening to 15, its clear Rosechu is a female Pokemon (heart tail). Who knows- apparently being trans hurts Chris, but being cis will hurt Rosechu (again, fictional character). It was not a problem for these past years, and the tail incident in 0 seemed to be just artist error/ didnt know- with Chris lashing out that Rose was cis and edited the tail to be female.

I dont know if this could be a troll paying him- hes gotten money in the past and barely did what he was paid for (it took him over 3 years or so to get back into making Sonichu- which was a 1000 dollar commission by Dstecks, and Patreons have been complaining hes not sending out his promised tier prizes

On the Quotes of the Now

Just wondering, can I add quotes from people other than Chris? -Larry the Larryhog (talk) 02:53, 12 January 2018 (UTC)

Chris' response to trolls

Lately, Chris hasn't been ragequitting on the trolls as much as he used to, but instead tends to mock them. Where should we include this information? - PsychoNerd054

Chris and Spinalpalm

Chris seems very obsessed with SpinalPalm, despite them being a JERK. The CWCville News Facebook reported them to be together. Is that Facebook just a troll page or is it usually TRUE and HONEST on its information? Looking at it now it seems to have been hacked or becoming a troll page.

Or is Chris possibly only excited since Spinal may have connections to Doopie?

Spam Accounts

Recently, a lot of spam accounts have been created on this website. Is there any other way we could deal with this besides just deleting both the accounts and the pages? - PsychoNerd054

  • The only solution I can can think of is to make more moderators. Hurtful seems to be the only active user with the power to remove spam account. -Larry the Larryhog (talk) 14:03, 22 January 2018 (UTC)
This also happened a couple of years ago and I think they had to turn off automatic account creation for a while. --Holdek (talk) 02:39, 1 February 2018 (UTC)

Template layout

Could Video of the Now and Pic of the Now be placed above This Day in Christory and Did you Know, since the latter aren't update items? I've tried experimenting a bit but I'm afraid I'll mess up the page. --Holdek (talk) 02:36, 1 February 2018 (UTC)

  • I tried rearranging a bit, but moving Vid/Pic up kinda throws off the layout. Like, Article of Now would have a lot of white space under it because it's next to the taller Da Update. Hurtful Truth Level (talk) 08:29, 17 February 2018 (UTC)
Okay, thanks, yeah, I suppose it's a bit like arranging a puzzle with that many things. --Holdek (talk) 04:40, 24 February 2018 (UTC)

Begging Counter

Is there a way to edit the counter? As of Feb 16, 2018, Chris once again begged for money via Youtube (no less than 10 dollars!!), also giving out his phone number to donate

  • Yeah, it's Template:Begging Counter. There are directions for resetting it in the description. I don't think it should be reset in this case, though - he's not really begging. What happened was Facebook sent Chris a Memory notification for the A browsing around an ol' playground video, which was uploaded a year ago, and Chris just shared it without thinking through how his audience might interpret it. Hurtful Truth Level (talk) 08:29, 17 February 2018 (UTC)

10th Anniversary

2018 and 2019 will see the 10th anniversary of some of the greatest trolling sagas. Should we make reference to that in the future? -Larry the Larryhog (talk) 01:15, 20 February 2018 (UTC)

I don't know...2017 is when the 10 year anniversaries of organized trolling started happening, I believe. If there's something significant, though, I suppose, why not?

Increasing Security

With two vandal attacks in a row, I think we need to add more moderators. Having only one active moderator is now enough for a wiki that large. -Larry the Larryhog (talk) 03:06, 9 March 2018 (UTC)

  • After talking with Larry and Canine, I've added a few more moderators (jerkops, as the wiki calls them). If anyone has any questions about it, let me know. Hurtful Truth Level (talk) 05:24, 12 March 2018 (UTC)

"Minor"

So as I'm sure you all know, the front page features the phrase "No shit is too minor", and minor links to another page... the duck page. Personally, I would've guessed it to link to pedofork. In short: Is this a dick joke? Why was it chosen over pedofork? Am I overthinking this and it was done for no reason? o f u c i t s Hallowed Ween (Holla) 07:52, 9 March 2018 (UTC)

"No shit is too minor" refers to the fact that no info is too minor. It refers how Chris reveals too much about himself. -Larry the Larryhog (talk) 13:32, 9 March 2018 (UTC)
So... the link on minor is to emphasize just how much he reveals about himself. o f u c i t s Hallowed Ween (Holla) 00:23, 10 March 2018 (UTC)

"Nothing too important but"

sh I think Chris's new favorite word is "yay!" he constantly says it now in all of his tweets like "Yayy!! Sonichu is 18!!" "YAAAYYY!!! I'd love a mod for Sonichu forces! YAY!" "YAY!!! The full video of the panel is up! Shipper Of Heart 14:46 CST 22 March 2018

Such thought should be best posted in Kiwi Farms, you might actually have a reasonable debate over there. -Larry the Larryhog (talk) 22:29, 22 March 2018 (UTC)

"Chris and Polyamory"

So it appears Chris is now following the footsteps of Magi Chan and becoming poly (or as he called it in Magi's case, harem). He claims he knows these two in real life. Thoughts on who it may be, possibly its two of the "friends" he claims to go to events with? Maybe one of them is the 'friend' he went to see Sailor Moon with (Or guesses on the genders of these two? I kinda doubt a lesbian couple would want to be poly with him, but that's just me). Or are they even real, since he believes cartoon characters are real. If they are real, how long will it be until their identities are found out? Shipper Of Heart 18:15 CST 27 March 2018

Check out Chris's own sections in the CWCki Club and the Kiwi Farms, full of lively and often times thoughtful discussions on Chris and Sonichu. (Please limit extensive discussions and speculations there, and only use the wiki talk pages for article-related discussions). --Holdek (talk) 18:06, 28 March 2018 (UTC)

Video of the Now Formatting

Is there a way to make the Video of the Now more narrow? It currently stretches to the right more than the entire rest of the Main Page. --Holdek (talk) 20:22, 23 May 2018 (UTC)

reCAPTCHA

How difficult would it be to implement one of those verification services like reCAPTCHA on the CWCki? The recent onslaught of bots creating fake accounts is getting ridiculous.--Galilean (talk) 22:40, 28 July 2018 (UTC)

I don’t know, but I highly agree with you. Additionally, the current verification service doesn’t work on mobile. -Larry the Larryhog (talk) 13:23, 29 July 2018 (UTC)

One page per month for videos?

Chris's videos nowadays are mostly just short begging / ebay announcements or occasionally rambling about his imaginary land. Having one page per month, like with the January 2018 Paid Video Requests page, would make it easier to organize and navigate, and faster to edit. Hurtful Truth Level (talk) 05:53, 5 September 2018 (UTC)

Article Suggestions

I highly suggest adding these topics to the Cwcki: Funko Pops, he is obsessed with them in recent years. Gems, may be a part of the Relic of Fails. -Larry the Larryhog (talk) 03:23, 28 September 2018 (UTC)

Directing people to Kiwi Farms for updates

Since there's currently a shortage of people editing and updating here, I think we should direct viewers to Chris's board on Kiwi Farms, since that place is the most up-to-date resource for Chris news. I propose removing the Da Update and CWCki News template and replacing with a message to check Chris's board on KF for the latest updates. Hurtful Truth Level (talk) 16:43, 7 October 2018 (UTC)

Spambots are back

Was registration unfrozen for a particular reason or was it an accident? Either way the spambots managed to reappear with perfect timing, and if registration is going to be kept open again then we need a permanent solution to the issue. Ericitos Verdes (talk) 02:40, 4 January 2019 (UTC)

Canine unfroze it to let someone register.Hurtful Truth Level (talk) 06:32, 4 January 2019 (UTC)
Some independent wiki sites such as Wikizilla have suffered from spambot problems similar to this, and it can be solved - Wikizilla is configured in such a way that users have to make 5 edits on existing pages before creating their own, which has largely stopped the spambots in their tracks since they're not sophisticated enough to attack existing pages. --Zillachu (talk) 10:36, 4 January 2019 (UTC)
The trouble is that we have seen spambots edit existing pages in the past, the main page in particular. There's probably some way to set up a vetting system on new accounts, but it would have to be more restrictive/complex than just tracking the number of edits made. Ericitos Verdes (talk) 15:49, 4 January 2019 (UTC)
Is it possible to mark the main page as protected, like Wikipedia? -Larry the Larryhog (talk) 18:37, 4 January 2019 (UTC)
I think it's possible to make any page protected (not sure though), but I list the main page because it's the most frequently targeted. I think they've modified other pages, too. Ericitos Verdes (talk) 19:04, 4 January 2019 (UTC)
That's what I'm thinking. Looking at the User Rights page for people points out a group called "autoconfirmed users". I may be wrong but this implies the existence of a setting to manually confirm users before they are able to edit things, which would be the logical option to allow the relatively uncommon legitimate new users to be admitted with less hassle than simply blocking/unblocking registration entirely. If the bots just keep coming to clog up the new user rolls, this could probably be supplemented with a script that purges all non-confirmed users periodically. I think freezing registration is a decent stopgap measure as long as there aren't many new users, provided that it isn't kept open for so long that I have to delete literal dozens of spam pages.
Where are the bots coming from, anyway? Ericitos Verdes (talk) 21:48, 5 January 2019 (UTC)
Wikipedia also has a filter that detects spam and prevents changes from being published if the filter is tripped. Homsar (talk) 16:43, 5 January 2019 (UTC)
Perhaps the pages could be protected so only people who verify/confirm their email address could edit them. I'm not sure how that would be done, but it seems like it could work as a possible solution.--Zillachu (talk) 12:40, 5 January 2019 (UTC)
Registration has been disabled again, so at least we won't have to deal with new bots. Hurtful Truth Level (talk) 19:27, 5 January 2019 (UTC)
Perhaps I am naive, but why not just set up a captcha for new registrations? --Holdek (talk) 19:40, 12 March 2019 (UTC)

Templates seem to be in sync again

I checked with a different browser, and the problem the CWCki had with templates not syncing seems to have been fixed, probably when Canine fixed up the server recently. So we don't need to deal with making dummy edits to the main page anymore. Anyone want to double-check? If it's fine, we can remove the dummy edit notices from the main page templates. Hurtful Truth Level (talk) 08:43, 14 January 2019 (UTC)

Late response, but I can confirm you are right. -Larry the Larryhog (talk) 18:49, 18 January 2019 (UTC)

Should we change the homepage layout, now that Da Update is to return?

With Da Update and registration to new users (as myself) now restored, should we put it in a box taking up half the page as it was arranged before October 2018? I think that merging the Quote of the Now, Da Update and CWCiki news into the blue box along the side would look neater than the three broad boxes we have up top at the moment. ChanOfTartary (talk) 22:04, 13 April 2019 (UTC)

Support. TopHatGuy (talk) 12:34, 14 April 2019 (UTC)
Sounds good. Though I don't think Quote of the Now would fit on the side. Should Da Update be restored to how it was before (list of updates), or just have it link to the chronology page/KiwiFarms (like it is now)? I switched to the latter as an efficiency measure, because we were writing stuff into Da Update, and then copying over to the chronology for archiving, so I thought we could just write to the chronology directly. And not all of the major updates were making it into the CWCki, hence the KF link. Hurtful Truth Level (talk) 19:43, 14 April 2019 (UTC)
Keeping Da Update true to its namesake like it was before would be logical; a dossier on the homepage is more interesting and convenient to read than sifting through pages of commentary mixed throughout Random Chris Updates. ChanOfTartary (talk) 20:07, 14 April 2019 (UTC)
So something like this arrangement? Tried putting Quote of the Now's space into the right side box to see how it'd look. Seems to me that it makes it too long, so we could leave Quote in its original space and use the right side box for CWCki News. I think CWCki News could be updated to note that registration/Captcha is enabled, and also to move to it the statement that all CWC updates can be seen at KF that's in Da Update at the moment. Hurtful Truth Level (talk) 22:01, 15 April 2019 (UTC)

A page for dimension C-197 stuff?

Since Chris firmly believes his alternate dimension world is real, he's been churning out characters for it (though I guess they'd be residents to him). We could use a page to dump that stuff. Like the other day, he said that "Cindy Zapbud" was pretend-Cole Smithey's replacement as a Pokemon professor. Could also be used for OCs that various Idea Guy-types insert (Ted Bunchychu, Fate the Pikachu, etc). Maybe something titled Residents of C-197? Are there any existing pages this could go in? We could probably use a dedicated article for dimensions, too, maybe taking material from the Chris and reality page. Hurtful Truth Level (talk) 04:09, 19 April 2019 (UTC)

We already have Dimensional Merge and Reality Cartoon. A dedicated C-197 article or one about dimensions could be nice. I'm not sure what the jumping-off point would be for someone wanting to read about this subject in a Chris/Sonichu context, but it's a significant ongoing event that should be documented in a clear and lucid style. Mega-pages are hard to read. Maybe this is more of a saga? AReasonableMan (talk) 05:11, 17 May 2019 (UTC)

I don't think C-197 stuff fits with a saga. It's a bigger version of CWCville - an imaginary place where he has power that he doesn't in the real world. And trolls now know they can take advantage of that to insert their own characters. So it's a lot of one-off shit either made up by Chris or someone else. Even though mega pages are hard to read, stuff like Ted Bundychu doesn't have enough for their own articles, so something like List of cards from The Wall of Originals might be the best way to dump it. Hurtful Truth Level (talk) 17:49, 17 May 2019 (UTC)

Makes sense. Dimensional Merge is the event, C-197 is the place. I almost feel like there should be a box or something for Chris's views on reality over time. I discovered Chris a year or two before the start of the Tomgirl saga, and he seemed pretty sane then. The multiverse stuff, where it's not ripping off Marvel, strikes me as a break from Chris's usual psychology, perhaps influenced by HRT, Financhu Crisis, Barb's health, or other sources of stress. Just a gut feeling, but I think that things are changing. AReasonableMan (talk) 01:52, 18 May 2019 (UTC)

Obscure Sprung article origins...

So, we know Chris appeared in Nintendo Power, May 2004, issue 179, and in Shojo Beat for November 2005, but where on Earth did the Sprung article come from? Is it also issue 179?

-Update- I have narrowed it down to March/April 2004 of Nintendo Power which could be #177 or #178. I have purchased the physical copies of both, and will verify this first hand. I was unable to locate the scans for those two issues. I also want to frame them for my Chris Chan shrine :)

Main page graphics update

CWCki Introduction.png
CWCki News.png

Hi there, I am proposing some tweaks to the main page graphics to take advantage of the transparent background capabilities of the PNG file format.

Before proceeding further, what should I do with the frowning face at the bottom of Sonichu’s thought bubble?

I also plan to transcribe the captions for accessibility reasons (you know, the bit where you hover over an image and some text appears).

Regards, --Little Owl (talk) 11:23, 30 April 2019 (UTC)

I like the CWCki News graphics you made and there is no need to change the frowning face. As for the intro, I prefer to keep the old one to keep the consistency of the seasonal intros we have. -Larry the Larryhog (talk) 02:32, 1 May 2019 (UTC)

Revitalising the Main Page

Hello, I have decided to only implement the background-free Update image, and postpone the top banner until I have the time to create the PNG versions of topical banners.

I am also thinking of developing a new Main Page, that takes advantage of modern CSS capabilites, and to make CWCki look less of a clone of the English Wikipedia.

What kind of design and layout would CWCki really like to have? I may be able to emulate the Sonichu logo for the top banner, while the panel layout could be based on the Sonichu comics (Inspiration 1, Inspiration 2), albeit both in a smarter way, and with Helvetica in place of Comic Sans.

I am also thinking of a seperate panel to house the article counter, with an introduction to the CWCki and the active users counter. I got the idea from the French Wikipedia, where the banner is a lot less cluttered as a result of the article counter having its own panel with the project introduction.

Best regards, --Little Owl (talk) 11:32, 1 May 2019 (UTC)

Part of the CWCki's charm, in my opinion, is that it preserves the same late-2000s aesthetic that defined the Internet at the height of the Classic Chris era. Re-designing it to look modern would take away from that. I like the idea of including the editor number, though, perhaps similar to the Esperanto Wikipedia? ChanOfTartary (talk) 16:21, 9 May 2019 (UTC)

Housekeeping

After recovering all the pages for Sonichu 4, I have noticed that the file names of the pages are in a mess. I have a proposed naming scheme for the pages:

  • Sonichu - Issue # Cover.jpg (for covers)
  • Sonichu - Episode #, Page #.jpg (for episodes)
  • Sonichu - Sub-Episode #, Page #.jpg (for sub-episodes)
  • Sonichu - [Miscellaneous] Page.jpg (for ephemera)
  • Sonichu - [Product] Advertisement.jpg (for adverts)

And they will be categorised under the appropriate issues that they appear in, with the appropriate sort key. For example: [[Category:Pages from Sonichu 15‎‎|#000a]] for the cover, and [[Category:Pages from Sonichu 15‎‎|#001]] for the start of the first story and so on.

If you like, I can do the lifting work for you, finding and reuniting all those duplicates.

Regards, --Little Owl (talk) 10:45, 25 May 2019 (UTC)

The mass-reverted edits today

Sorry about that. Not sure what happened. Maybe I had a tab open on Recent Changes and somehow clicked something that targeted all the Rollback buttons on the page to revert all recent edits. I think I cancelled everything out and restored the changes. Hurtful Truth Level (talk) 04:18, 25 October 2019 (UTC)

I was wonder why there were that many edits and reverts. Good thing nothing serious happened. -Larry the Larryhog (talk) 04:26, 25 October 2019 (UTC)

Removing "WHERE NO SHIT IS TOO MINOR!" tagline

I think this tagline can be retired. We're at the point where it no longer applies, since Chris content is so high quantity with most of it low quality, that much of it often doesn't get included in the CWCki. The Da Update section also notes that only select updates get covered now. Hurtful Truth Level (talk) 05:18, 20 December 2019 (UTC)

I agree. There are too many orbiters flitting in and out, looking for their moment of on-line fame, who never get mentioned here. We should remove it. ChanOfTartary (talk) 16:03, 20 December 2019 (UTC)
It's such an ingrained part of the wiki though that regardless of validity it feels inappropriate to remove it. Duff101 (talk) 04:57, 21 December 2019 (UTC)
Even if it makes sense to us, there are many readers whom we never see because they come here for the first time to learn about this glorious mess. It is better not to mislead them. ChanOfTartary (talk) 15:15, 22 December 2019 (UTC)

Are we focusing too much on Chris's enablers?

I dunno, maybe we should keep to some kind of standard for deciding which enablers get their own articles. We have several articles that are more about detailing attempts to worm into Chris's life, as opposed to significance to Chris. Classic trolls had significant interactions with him, his high school gal-pals, various jerkops/authority figures, etc, as well. But people like Aly Hirschberg, Sarah and Steve, Multidimensional White Knights don't have significant interactions. My concern is it might put off CWCki readers to come across articles describing plans cooked up by random enablers when this wiki is supposed to center around Chris and his failings.

Or we could slap a template on the page to let readers know about the type of article, something like, "This article is about an enabler. It primarily describes attempts to worm into Chris's life." Hurtful Truth Level (talk) 05:54, 12 February 2020 (UTC)

  • Since you brought up the template, I’m currently working on an article on the Unholy Tetrad, where it talks about all of the different types of people that attempted to contact Chris, but are frowned upon by most other people. I think we could use that page to list examples from each group, such as the enablers you mentioned.PsychoNerd054 (talk) 13:18, 12 February 2020 (UTC)
    • This discussion would be more appropriate in the Community Portal; discussions here should be for the main page itself. However, I agree with HTL. Enablers are the latter-day equivalent of trolls, and the CWCki only records the likes of Liquid or Clyde, not their countless contemporary imitators who accomplished nothing of note. A purge might be in order to delete the full detailed articles for S&S, Hirschberg, MWK and the rest; the amount of attention that an enabler has here should be proportional to how much his presence is acknowledged by Chris. This is not LOLcow Wiki. ChanOfTartary (talk) 15:52, 12 February 2020 (UTC)

Possesed by box

Chris acting like an idiot on outside(eg. - Leftoversmedia stream) sources will bring a ton of newfags, to help those poor souls we should make a box which tells them who Chris is currently possessd by.

Good idea, added a line to the Coping Counter box about it. Also, please sign your posts by pressing ~ four times at the end, thanks. Hurtful Truth Level (talk) 01:36, 24 May 2020 (UTC)

Bringing back the Improvement template?

We used to have an Improvement template on the Main Page for listing articles in need of improvement. Should we bring it back? I deleted it a while back because it wasn't being used, but editors lately have been using their user/sandbox pages to keep track of to-do lists, so maybe there's a place for the Improvement template again? Hurtful Truth Level (talk) 10:17, 24 June 2020 (UTC)

yes yes yes yes yes maybe a page linked to the sidebar would be better cause when some newguy comes here, he shouldn't see a big box telling ”these articles need to be unfucked”- Klop|polK (talk) 10:23, 24 June 2020 (UTC)
I can't change the sidebar, if you mean the left set of links (Main Page, Community Portal, etc). Maybe a spoiler tag could be used on the Improvement template for the same effect. Do we need the template itself or would just editing the CWCki News template suffice? Hurtful Truth Level (talk) 02:27, 26 June 2020 (UTC)
