Talk:Crystalgate
Saga Name
I understand the motive behind splitting up the Praetor sagas, but I don't think "Crystalgate" is the best term to describe this period. I know this is in reference to the proposed crystal tasing on the part of Praetor, but that event only happened at the very end of this period, as the climax of conflict between Praetor and the Watchmen (and there's also no proof Chris even did it). It didn't define the entire rest of the saga, so naming it solely after this one event I think is misleading. I don't know exactly what should replace it, but if I were to assign a general title, it'd be something akin to "The Watchmen-Praetor War." Obviously I don't want that to be the name of this saga, but I also don't think the name "Crystalgate" should represent it. Anaxis (talk) 02:16, 25 March 2025 (EDT)
- If we're going to rename this saga, it should be noted that the name "Crystalgate" is more in reference to how a major component of the saga was the spread of conspiracy theories (similar to how there were scandals in "Watergate" or "Pizzagate"). The name is a sort of pun on that and the most prominent conspiracy theory, which involved the "Gate Crystal". Psycho 🐧 (talk) 07:12, 25 March 2025 (EDT)
- I understand the etymology you were going for, but I still don't think the average person is going to recognize the reference at a glance. And I would also like to point out that the conspiracy theories mainly took off after the Taser Incident, so regardless, it still is centered around that event in a way that I think is misleading. Multiple events defined Praetor before that call between Caden and the Watchmen took place. Anaxis (talk) 05:17, 27 March 2025 (EDT)
- What's the scope of this article? I only see the taser drama described so far. I think the topic needs to be defined more clearly, for addressing the title. Hurtful Truth Level (talk) 05:53, 27 March 2025 (EDT)
