Kyun Kyun *sparkle* (ie: Blanca stole from Macross F)

I guess I'm a total weaboo mecha animu fan, but I can't be the only person who sees it. I know CWC probably has never heard of Macross Frontier (because even a middling-quality anime is too good for him to enjoy), but still... dude, tracing a trace. I'm giggling here. -- Needlepants 06:06, 8 August 2009 (CEST)

  • Admittedly, I'm a 'weaboo mecha animu fan', and I didn't catch it. Obviously because I like the over-the-top Super Robot action, a-la Gurren Lagaan and Shin Mazinger, over something like Macross. Though, don't underestimate Chris' love of anime. I mean, he watched Evangelion and, in his room, I noticed a poster to an anime known as Steel Angel Kurumi, which, well... has a lot for someone like Chris to mass debate to. -- Blazer 06:19 8 August 2009 (CEST)
  • Dude, don't forget Blanca created Jiggliami. It's very well that she ripped it off that anime, in a similar way Simonchu is based off some anime so yeah, it's possible. --Champthom 04:26, 29 August 2009 (CEST)
  • That's what I was getting at. Chris copied Blanca. "Blanca" copied Macross Frontier. Should've been more clear initially, I was too busy giggling at it. - Needlepants 04:51, 29 August 2009 (CEST)
    • I prefer Super Robot myself, but I'll give any decent-looking show a fair shake, and Macross Frontier was a fun way to fill 22 minutes a week when there was nothing else to watch (GL and Gundam 00's first season were both off the air by then, the only other show was Code Trainwreck). It's for the better that CWC doesn't know about it because the main character is a former kabuki actor who played female roles and you see him in geisha drag/face makeup in the first intro! Confused my penis and gave me the Prickly-Wicklies, I'd hate to see Chris' reaction. But wasn't it one of his sweethearts that got him to watch End of Eva? (I like Eva, but damn, I am never watching that again) I have my doubts that he'd watch it on his own, the DVDs don't have enough primary colors or NEKO NEKO KAWAII. As for Steel Angel Kurumi... just watched intro, wow... no surprise, he'd be all over that. --Needlepants 16:24, 8 August 2009 (CEST)
  • I don't even so much know if the original image knew what it was ripping off. If you follow Japanese fanart a lot, you'll know that this particular image is a meme in itself and the pose has been drawn for basically anything you can think of. I've seen this image a good 50 times just for one game in particular. --LizardPie 20:41, 28 August 2009 (CEST)
  • I know it's a common meme, but Jiggliami is just _too_ similar to Ranka (popstar, just breaking into the business, quickly gaining popularity, young and cute, etc. etc.) for it to be coincidence, it's just too, too uncanny... and even if it's still based solely on the meme (which I doubt), the meme originated with Ranka anyway. EDIT: And another thing, the Blanca saga started right around the time Macross F was in its final few episodes (one of the later eps had the "Kyun kyun *sparke*" thing, so it could've been fresh in the troll's memory), and ended only a short while after it. - Needlepants 21:07, 28 August 2009 (CEST)

Alright, I've did some serious additions/editing to this page. I hope it's not too audacious of me to remove the 'stub' thingie. - Needlepants 05:40, 29 August 2009 (CEST)

"The War of Love"

Right, so I find out that he stole the song from a Miku Hatsune video but does anybody have an idea on how he found it in the first place? Is he even familiar with the character? Just curious after the whole Ranka Lee thing. --AntonImaus 15:19, 12 October 2009 (CEST)

  • I thought Blanca "wrote" the song for him. Also, am I the only person who finds the song rather passive-aggressive? - Needlepants 15:58, 27 October 2009 (CET)
  • Oh, "she" did. Don't know how I ended up glossing over that in the audiobook. Derp. --AntonImausMk2 22:35, 29 October 2009 (CET)
