To do

  • things from Family Guy Chris has ripped off
    • Seriously, we need to do this, guis. --Champthom 23:41, 3 April 2009 (CEST)
  • his "skit" for Seth MacFarlane
    • Don't forget "Sammy". -- Straha
  • add stuff from his new video, like his plot idea and his drawings and shit. --Champthom 09:52, 10 December 2009 (CET)
  • We need to list all the times Chris has referenced Family Guy as well, directly and indirectly (like how he shouts "SHAZAAM" during phone sex with Julie).--Champthom 03:40, 14 April 2010 (UTC)

Controversy

Added a small section. It's baseline for now but since we should be informative of the topic and hand and it's relevance to chris; I thought it needed to be added. If anyone can improve it please do so. IJustDontCareAnymore 05:40, 17 April 2009 (CEST)

A Proposal

I think this page would be funnier if it adopted a more value-neutral attitude to the show itself. Many people other than Christian enjoy Family Guy. The reason I like this site better than ED is that here, we generally stay focused on making fun of Chris alone, rather than everything we can think of. If we had a more neutral description of Family Guy on this page, it might help the overall tone of the sight. Just a thought, so feel free to shout me down if the rest of the populace doesn't agree. • I agree wholeheartedly. I for one like Family Guy and find the show to be a hell of a lot better than other animated sitcoms as of late (*cough*southpark*cough*). That might be a biased opinion, but I think that this article should remain neutral like most other articles about media that Chris rips off.--Goatselover 02:07, 18 October 2009 (CEST)
I like Family Guy but I'm not above mocking its more dubious ways of conducting its humor. I think potshots at the show balance out with approving references made on other pages. The same goes with basically every other property we've mentioned, I think, save those which are unarguably awful e.g. Filmation's Ghostbusters. Ensign disposable 06:33, 18 October 2009 (CEST)
I second Ensign disposable's comment. To add to it, while I enjoy Family Guy, the criticisms the show gets in the CWCki article are those that have parallels to the ones CWC gets shit about (originality, etc) and the comparisons are made for humorous effect. I think the article would be fairly bland if they weren't there. Alteceastlansing 05:08, 19 October 2009 (CEST)

Blackface and Indian costumes

Failing to realize the racism of black face isn't really a Chris specific thing, I'm sure there's plenty of other media that does this trope as well - Champthom

That wasn't the point I was trying to make , otherwise I would have piped that bit to autism. It's relevant to Chris because that episode debuted only a month or so after all those cosplay videos. It's another one of those amusing coincidences. It sure has a stronger connection than the comparison of Kimmi and Peter having sex with a cardboard cutout. --Xanabit 23:38, 21 March 2011 (PDT)

  • They make these episodes months in advance though. I think most of these amusing similarities are so vague it could apply to anything, that's the problem. It's like saying "OMG, there's a guy named Chris on Family Guy and he's fat like our Chris too!" I think when people read that, they assume that the creators of Family Guy follow Chris, which probably isn't the case and that's misleading to lead them on our part. --Champthom 09:54, 22 March 2011 (PDT)
