Template talk:Articleofthenow
I've gone and applied this template to past articles of the now back to November 2010, excluding the one for Christmas (since it was for the holiday only). I didn't want to add it to all past articles because that would be cumbersome, and many of the past articles might not be up to date any more - better only to showcase recent ones.
Also, should Template:Featured article be used in place of this? The star is not as flashy and doesn't take up as much real estate on the screen - especially on pages that already have a banner. Since we don't have a featured article section, maybe we could rename the Featured Article template to "Article of the Now" and use it in place of this template here?– BrianBash (talk|cont) 23:23, 15 August 2011 (PDT)
Deletion
I know I was partially to blame for this template, but this was back when the Article of the Now reflected quality articles. Nowadays the Article of the Now mostly reflects timely articles, related to current Chris related events so saying an article was an Article of the now is pointless because it really doesn't say anything about quality anymore and saying that it was timely at some point isn't very useful. Would anyone be offended if I deleted this? --Champthom 07:33, 30 May 2012 (PDT)
Remove?
I think this template could be blanked. It takes up space but doesn't contribute to an article. The template image is also not relevant to Chris. Hurtful Truth Level (talk) 23:45, 6 September 2020 (UTC)
- Makes sense to me, however this begs the question: should there be another way to list Articles of the Now without wasting space in the articles?--Superspongebobbros (talk) 02:43, 7 September 2020 (UTC)
