Also in 1989, there was a Bear Band who played at Regency Square Shopping Mall in Chesterfield County for years. The man behind the Conductor, Leonard Bearstein, was English, because when I told him him through the Bear my name was Christopher, he misunderstood and started calling me Christian.

Leonard Bearstein was the stage name of an English man who played in the Bear Band at the Regency Square Shopping Mall during Christopher's childhood. When Christopher told Bearstein his name, Bearstein misheard and called him Christian.[1] This led to Christopher's decision to change his name to Christian, which happened in 1994 (?). Christopher's father Bob had originally wanted to name his son Christian anyway, but pussied out.
