Talk:Camerawork
I don't think this page exists yet
I looked, and saw nothing about Chris's actually camerawork, so I started it up--Toughdog6789 05:19, 14 February 2010 (UTC)
- The "Chris And" designation is for large, broad concepts, like religion, language, government etc. This should be titled camerawork. That said, I'm not sure enough can be said about Chris's camerawork to merit a full article.
- Do we have an article that covers the utterly incompetent way Chris makes videos? This would fit in there perfectly. --Beat 06:20, 14 February 2010 (UTC)
- No, we don't have something like that. Might wanna put it in the YouTube article, though. Seriously, the guy has videos up the ying-yang on YT and they haven't been really talked about.--Blazer 06:33, 14 February 2010 (UTC)
- Anyone for merging this with the Youtube article?--Hieghts503 1:22 15 Febuary 2010 (CET)
- I was about to make "Chris and photography", but I was not sure of the title. I think "Camerawork" is good, because Chris fails on both motion picture and still picture endeavours... and not only on YouTube, but all other mediums he has managed to spew videos upon, starting from GameBoy Camera to home videos to DVDs. --wwwwolf (wake me when you need me) 21:06, 15 February 2010 (UTC)
- Personally, I think this should be called "Chris and cinematography." 'Chris and" was abused for a while but that's mostly because we were getting very specific thing like "Chris and his relationship with his father" and stuff like that. Alternatively, we can summarize some of the stuff here and incorporate it into the PSEye article. In short, there is potential to having this information on the CWCki but 1) the current article title sucks and 2) this may or may not need an entire article dedicated to it. Thoughts? --Champthom 04:43, 7 March 2010 (UTC)
- It should go directly with the PSEye entry. I don't see enough material to match a "Chris And ..." article. Griffintown 05:03, 7 March 2010 (UTC)
- I disagree as this isn't all reflective of the PSEye, per say. BubblegumPinkButler 05:22, 7 March 2010 (UTC)
- I also think this warrants its own article and that it shouldn't be merged. I think we could use an article about his film and video production skills (like the frontpage says, NO SHIT IS TOO MINOR!) ALSO, one thing that should be brought up is that his films seem to be in .mov format, which is the default format the Apple uses for their video editing software. Since I'm pretty sure he doesn't have a Mac, is there possibly some crap software on PC's that converts video from his camera to his computer for upload to youtube, or does his camera use flash cards and the videos are ready to upload instantly? --This post brought to you by ShotgunJones 03:33, 19 May 2010 (UTC). Thanks for reading!
- QuickTime (.mov) is not Mac-specific, and a lot of Windows apps use it - a lot of pro video software in Mac uses QuickTime, and Windows software tends to implement it too to allow interoperability. Also, the .mp4 video format is basically the same as .mov with a few minor changes. --wwwwolf (wake me when you need me) 11:00, 19 May 2010 (UTC)
- Well yeah, I do know it's not Mac-specific, I know there's software for Windows that exports but what I want to know is whether he uses that or he has one of those cameras that records to the SD card, and then when you plug the card into the computer it's all ready to be uploaded to YouTube (i have seen cheap cameras that do that, too.) I wrote up a section on his post-production skills, and if anyone wants to throw in their two cents on something I didn't mention, feel free to edit.--This post brought to you by ShotgunJones 01:25, 20 May 2010 (UTC). I just want to say, from where I'm standing this article could use some sort of conclusion. A summary of all the things he's done wrong or a projection as to how this will affect his future or some shit would finish this article off nicely. I can tell without looking at the history that this is just an expanded stub at the moment, and bringing this in would help the article a lot I think. I might do it in a few hours if I remember, but my memory is shoddy as hell so don't count on it. Thelieisacake 17:45, 25 June 2010 (UTC)
Time to release this into the wild?
This is essentially an orphan page. Perhaps I should inform the people watching the "Chris and..." template of its existence? --SeventhBase 05:13, 22 July 2010 (UTC)
- Might be better to move the contents to a new page named Chris and Camerawork so more work can be done. --Eniggy 03:16, 24 July 2010 (UTC)
