Talk:The Wall of Originals
The Wall of Originals Gallery Project
I have an idea - see this pic? Let's try and identify every card from there, find it, and then post it into a gallery so we sort of have a virtual Wall of Originals that you can see. --Champthom 18:50, 20 October 2009 (CEST)
Also, to do
I think in the Kacey call, Chris babbles on about this and is fucking ecstatic that a woman cares about his shitty homemade cards. --Champthom 18:52, 20 October 2009 (CEST)
The wall
notes: there are many duplicate cards (hand drawn/computerized) and there's an entire column cut off from the picture (checked either by file name or looking at the bra pic and comparing the cards. ell o ell) Clydec 20:18, 20 October 2009 (CEST)
Who scanned the cards?
I am in the dark here, sadly.
Coin Flipping
Every single card requires a coin flip. Or two. Or three. Every single one. Okay, not every single one, but several cards have multiple abilities, each of which requires a coin flip, which averages out.
I'm not that into Pokemon; what is the significance of this?Skwrr 01:19, 3 November 2009 (CET)
Well, just that there's a shitload of annoying randomness in his cards. At the same time, though, the actual Pokemon TCG is just as bad about this, at least back in the day, so there you go. Yoshi348 19:41, 11 November 2009 (CET)
It's enough to make you wonder if "Chris and randomness" is worthy of a page, considering how often "randomness" comes up in his speech, stories, game design (such as it is), etc. He loves randomness like the woman he'll never get. Ensign disposable 21:12, 11 November 2009 (CET)
Suggestion: Wall of Originals transcription project
I've noticed that the cards are rather difficult to read. This could be the result of two factors: The poor quality of the scans, and the fact that Chris's handwriting is fucking horrible. Perhaps we could create a separate gallery from the reproduction of the wall, and attempt to transcribe the text written on the cards to make it more readable? Tyranogre 19:37, 14 January 2010 (UTC)
- Good thinking. Perhaps we could call it List of cards from The Wall of Originals? It could sorta be like the Yu-Gi-Oh card gallery there. --Champthom 19:39, 14 January 2010 (UTC)
- All right. Of course, it would be pretty much impossible to complete the entire wall in one edit... Tell you what: I'll go ahead and get the article started, and add the "incomplete" template to it. From there, we can add a few cards at a time, until we've got the entire wall covered. Better yet, we could "borrow" a trading card template from some Pokemon wiki, and use that to transcribe each card. Tyranogre 19:48, 14 January 2010 (UTC)
The transcription project is now complete. We still need to fix the table to prevent screen-stretching, but the actual transcribing of each card is finished. Tyranogre 19:25, 22 January 2010 (UTC)
Disappearance
Well, the wall of originals isn't there in the new pics, and you can see they weren't covering a window. Maybe this page needs updating? Dangdirtylols 06:13, 1 May 2011 (PDT)
- I noticed that, but there's no confirmation that it's actually gone forever yet. He might have just taken it down for a short while. Freecell (t/c) 06:15, 1 May 2011 (PDT)
- True, but it's still reasonable to note on the page that it no longer seems to be in his room. --Champthom 07:18, 1 May 2011 (PDT)
- While I think it should be mentioned, it should also be noted that in these new pictures we don't get to see his whole room...it could just as easily be on a different wall... or like Champthom said...Chris could have been moving stuff around and just hasn't had the energy/motivation/desire to put it up again yet.... I highly doubt he got rid of something like this forever. --4Macie 11:15, 1 May 2011 (PDT)
- What I was more hoping to bring to attention was the stuff at the top about the Wall covering a window, and we can see now it wasn't. -- Dangdirtylols 14:13, 1 May 2011 (PDT)
