Reminder

For Christmas eve, change it to the quote from Sonichu's News Dash about how all Chris wants for Christmas is a pretty girl and how he asks for his readers to cheer him up by being his girlfriend for Christmas. Christmas Day will be the special holiday message from the CWCki staff. Suggesting a quote

I found this on the "It Just Bugs Me" page for Sonichu on TV Tropes, and I think it sums up Chris pretty well:

A Guide to Quote of the Now

Since I always don't feel like finding a good quote to make the quote of the now, let's let others find a good quote. But what makes a good Quote of the Now?

Ideally, the quote should reflect The Now - as in, what's going on with Chris. If it's particularly slow with Chris, then digging through and finding quotes is alright, but when things are constantly happening (especially in the advent of the Mailag), there's no excuse to not have this updated more.

What makes a good quote? Ideally something that reflects The Now, and should really be something that says "Holy shit, only Chris could say [x]." It's not so much gimicky, just it's that it helps reflect The Now.

For instance, let's look at Mailbag 48. The reply about Asperchu and why Sonichu says more about Chris and The Now, whereas a quote about Chris lifting 100 pounds is not as good.

Be sure to wikify the quote, to serve as a way for people to explore CWCki and to annotate the quote in a way. Also, cite where the quote is from exactly. Don't just say it's from Chris, cite where and timestamp.

And for the love of God, do not do shit like "blah blah blah blah blah blah blah Asperchu blah blah blah blah blah blah blah." Do not fucking alter things to be "funny." Yes, someone did that before and it's not fucking funny. --Champthom 03:42, 31 January 2010 (UTC)

Linking

I don't think links should be done sparingly - I think people are afraid of linking to stuff because of the comment in the usage. This is a wiki, stuff should link to other stuff and Quote of the now can serve as a sort of portal to other articles that are relevant to recent topics. --Champthom 05:11, 4 June 2010 (UTC)

Perhaps that part just needs better phrasing. I was trying to suggest that linking every other word to a barely related article or FAIL etc. (covered by our editing guidelines anyway) would not be that great. Should it be changed from the sniper rifle tweet?
