Duplicate pages FTL

Welp. No sooner do I create a new page for all of that Miyamoto stuff than do I find this older page by clicking on "Random page".

So... my new page is entirely redundant, and I wrote up that whole transcript a while back for no reason, all because the video was already uploaded - with a transcript - to a "Captain's Log" page, even though it's not a Captain's Log video.

I don't even know what to do about this. The page that I created is where everything belongs, since it has the right title, but the other page was created first. I guess one of the pages will just have to be deleted, probably after some cross-checking and a couple of minor edits? Halp!

PS: At a minimum, Captain's Log, Stardate January 19th, 2009 isn't really a Captain's Log video either. (It's a Troll video.) Someone might need to undertake a thorough survey and re-categorization of all of Chris's videos. Llort 21:30, 5 June 2009 (CEST)

  • Fixed. You had a better transcript but the other article had a better description so I combined the two. You are correct about the January 19th video.

I have a suggested taxonomy of Captain's Log that I'll make a policy for. If you'd be a dear (or someone else) and fix the Captain's Log template, that'd be great :3. --Champthom 21:41, 5 June 2009 (CEST)

Login help

I suck cocks or something and forgot my real account's password, and when I tried to get it to resend, I discovered that the function isn't available: "Error sending mail: Safety Restriction in effect. The mail() command is not allowed, contact the admin." I know you're not the Wiki owner but you seem much more active. Is there any way to fix this? Thisisanalt 05:25, 11 June 2009 (CEST)

  • Cogs says that for the time being, you're boned (my words, not hers). She'll look into getting an extension for getting that sort of thing fixed. Sorry about the inconvenience D:. --Champthom 06:45, 11 June 2009 (CEST)
  • extension installed, check the special pages list for the password reset page. --cogsdev/vedsgoc 00:07, 12 June 2009

(CEST)

    • Thank you for all your help so far, but it's still slightly broken. I saw it not on the special page so I manually typed in Special:PasswordReset and got the error "The action you have requested is limited to users in the group Sysops." Thisisanalt 03:14, 14 June 2009 (CEST)
      • What was your original username? I can reset the password for you and then have an e-mail sent to you. Just make sure your account has a real e-mail (at least on your alt). You can always change it back later. --Champthom 03:33, 14 June 2009 (CEST)
        • BubblegumPinkButler. And it does have an email. This alt has the same one, even. Thank you so much for your help. <3 Thisisanalt 03:41, 14 June 2009 (CEST)
  • I sent your new password to the account associated with your alt account. --Champthom 03:47, 14 June 2009 (CEST)

God FUCKING dammit! Somehow, I've been logged out of my real account, and I have literally no idea what my password could be, because I've tried everything. Could you send me a new password for Llort at the e-mail address associated with either that account or this one? (They should be the same, unless I didn't bother to enter one back when I created Llort). Thanks! LlortAlt 18:06, 15 June 2009 (CEST)

  • Sent you an e-mail with your new password. If you still have problems, let me know. --Champthom 18:16, 15 June 2009 (CEST)
  • Llort's back in his CWCki. All's right with the world. :3 Llort 22:23, 15 June 2009 (CEST)

Quotes

Sure. Come up with a sizable list of quotes in the meantime.

Once I collect 3 more medallions on this here cwcki, I will have earned my own Wikipedia page since I'm also descended from the royal line of fagrance. Axe 10:30, 11 June 2009 (CEST)

Template:Captain's Log

I wrote "Select a stardate:", and you called that unnecessary because people will naturally click on something. However, you write "Captain's Log, Stardate:", and I could just as easily say that that's redundant because it's set within the Captain's Log video template; of course all of the videos are Captain's Logs! In my opinion, neither of our edits makes any more sense than the other, but at least when I made mine, I didn't try to imply that you were an idiot for making yours.

As for the "See Also:", I just figured that newbies who stumbled across one video template wouldn't otherwise be aware of the other for some time unless the two were connected. And it just made for easier navigation, even for veterans like us. Also, this isn't Wikipedia, obviously, and we don't need to do everything just like Wikipedia does. But anyway, I'll let your edits stand, since I generally defer to you. Just expressing my stressful torture in a TRUE and HONEST fashion. Llort 16:49, 20 June 2009 (CEST)

  • Okay, so we have the dates for the videos, right? And a Captain's Log video starts as "Captain's Log, Stardate..." and then we have a whole list of dates that people can choose from. That was my rationale for using "Captain's Log, Stardate." I suppose we could please everyone and offend no one if we had no such text there at all :3.
As for navigation, what Wikipedia and other wikis normally do is have a "series" template, like the Captain's Log template would be part of the "Video" series which would include Captain's Log, Chris's Other Videos, etc. This serves as a sort of "see also" without the awkward text in the actual template. Just looks sorta weird when you have "See also" in a template. I'd need to look on how other wikis do this, like Wikipedia. Or perhaps we could just make a "videography" page which details all the videos Chris has made or connected to him and have every video template link to that. --Champthom 17:16, 20 June 2009 (CEST)
  • Some sort of actual "series" would certainly make more sense. I was just trying to add functionality in the only way that I knew how. If anyone can figure out how to make the kind of series that you're recommending, maybe they can get a star or something. Llort 17:23, 20 June 2009 (CEST)

RE: namefaggotry

Haha yeah I guess you got a point champ seeing as how my e-handle on here is Anonymous. Maybe I should've just registered as "krappleguy" like I do elsewhere :P --Anonymous 09:14, 22 June 2009 (CEST)

Ey Champ

I'm not bawwwing or anything, but don't you think "How to Attract an 18 - ... -Year Old Female Companion Without Saying "Hi"" should have an article just because it's mysterious? I mean, we don't know what it is, that's what makes it interesting. It could just be a piece of paper, but it could also be a hidden tome of fail... RachmaninovDESU 20:25, 22 June 2009 (CEST)

  • This is an encyclopedia of all things Chris. If people want speculation, they'll go to PVCC or /cwc/. It's one thing to add some minor speculation in articles but to make an entire article on an unknown piece of art and pass it off as being fact is irresponsible. For all we know, Chris made it because he thought it was "funny." --Champthom 20:29, 22 June 2009 (CEST)
  • You know, you have a point somewhere, but on the other hand... The way this piece of paper is drafted does strongly suggest that the idea of writing a pamphlet has been in Chris's head at some time. Wouldn't the book cover itself, which is an artifact, along with the large possibility that Chris has been playing with the idea to write a paper like this, be noteworthy enough for an article? It's quite a unique concept, like a different dimension to the Love Quest. It still might be interesting... But ok, in the end I wouldn't really be able to judge wether it's noteworthy enough. I'd say its on the edge. You decide. Nigger. RachmaninovDESU 20:45, 22 June 2009 (CEST)
  • You think Chris would write an entire pamphlet? You're far too optimistic about Chris. My guess is that this was something Chris made up to put on the cover of his notebook or binder or whatever he'd take to his attraction time, so he can hide stuff away from the Jerkops and when they look at it, they'd be like "OH, THIS IS A BOOK, NOT A NOTEBOOK OF SHITTY DRAWINGS, NO ATTRACTION SIGN IN HERE." Chris does weird shit like that. He makes his own Pokemon cards, even though he doesn't intend on playing with them, he makes his own magazine covers has any intention of filling them with content (with the exception of the Handdrawn Nintendo Power), he gives stats to Sonichu and shit even though no one gives a fuck, and it goes on.
The point is, there's a possibility that Chris did intend to write a pamphlet. But there's also a chance Chris did it because he felt like it. There's a chance that this is something Chris did on a lark. There could even be some bizarre story behind it, like this was for a college project that we don't know about. Point is, we don't know enough to really say anything conclusive about the image other than the fact that the image is indeed from Chris, that it was scanned on whenever the metadata says it was scanned, and that it alludes to his love quest. By that standard though, we'd need to make pages for every single piece of art Chris has ever done and that would just be ridiculous. --Champthom 23:16, 22 June 2009 (CEST)
  • Yeah, k man you're right, G.G. I still hope we get some more info on this paper sometime. "How to Attract..." has taken grip of me, and it won't let go... RachmaninovDESU 02:37, 23 June 2009 (CEST)

Admin

How do I become one here? Just ask and receive? Semicolon 00:17, 24 June 2009 (CEST)

  • Hell no. The reason I'm an admin is because I spend an unhealthy amount of time here so I can pretty much monitor stuff as it goes down and that's just sad. There's not really much admining to do anyway. We're not really big enough to need an army of admins to handle stuff. I mean, no one vandalizes pages, pages rarely require deletion, I've personally never had to ban anyone (and the only two people that are banned are GWARP, the notorious wiki vandal and Joshua Martinez), and people usually are cool with password resets. The only perks are determining the article, picture, and video of the now but frankly, if you want to suggest anything, just leave recommendations in the appropriate template discussion pages. And besides, I'm a lowly sysadmin. The only bureaucrats (those who can change user groups and promote people to admins) is Clydec and Cogsdev. Really, there's other ways to increase your e-penis on CWCki, if that's what you're looking for, like doing things from the priority list. --Champthom 01:41, 24 June 2009 (CEST)
  • I've been doing a lot of grammar and copy editing; in fact, I'd say I've done that more than anything else so far. After all, it is on the priority list. Semicolon 05:38, 24 June 2009 (CEST)
  • By the way, can you figure out what the hell is up with Butt garments? One of the pics shows a solid-black thumbnail, but when you click on it the image loads fine. Semicolon 06:34, 24 June 2009 (CEST)
  • Wish I knew. I've tried deleting and reuploading that image before but for some reason it shows up as solid black. Perhaps you should ask Cogs. --Champthom 18:06, 24 June 2009 (CEST)
  • Thanks for all your suggestions. Semicolon 23:12, 24 June 2009 (CEST)

The Mexicant template

Just to let you know Champ, no offense taken. I actually found it hilarious and even tweaked it a little bit to show some Mexican currency ^^ -- Da Nuke 07:53, 29 June 2009 (CEST)

Jooolaay

Can you explain in detail why you don't think she should be called Jooolaay? --Ritegroic 09:34, 30 June 2009 (CEST)

  • Because it's an old meme and CWCki will not perpetuate it. In any given Chris video since the release of the sex tape, half the comments will be a variant of "JULAAAAAAAAAAY" regardless of content. About three quarters of the messages sent to Chris on YouTube were simply "JULLAAAY" or some variant. Most of the e-mails Chris receives in a given day have a body composed of a single word - "JULLAAAAAY." Only a newfag goes around shouting that. Yes, we get it - he yells "JULLLAAAAAAAAY" during sex. It was funny for a week but now it's older than old. It's worse than "HE KNOWS CLYDE CASH!" There is an appropriate mention in the sex tape article and Julie section and that should be the only place that "JULLAAAAAAAAAY" is mentioned. There is no way in hell that Julie is to be referred to as "Joooolaay" in the sweethearts template.
So help me God, I will ban any fucker who vandalizes templates, pages, etc. with "JULLAAAAAAAAAY" or any variant thereof.--Champthom 11:51, 30 June 2009 (CEST)

Thanks for the clarification. Hmmm I wonder what Chris thinks about most of his emails being "JULLAAAAAY"--do you have any idea?

Okay and now is this useable here?

Vince did billy mays.jpg

--Ritegroic 13:34, 30 June 2009 (CEST)

  • While we're asking stupid questions about old memes...
  • What's the origin of "HE KNOWS CLYDE CASH!"? The only mention of the phrase that I can find on the entire CWCki is from the Man in the Pickle Suit page, which merely remarks that Chris said it at some point in reference to the Pickle Man. Okay... but when? Why?
  • When the Man in the Pickle Suit stole Emily, Chris actually followed them around for a bit and Emily is like "Uh, I have to use the bathroom to attend to, uh, feminine matters." Chris say "OH, YOU MEAN YOUR PERIOD?" and Emily is like "...yeah." So the Man in the Pickle Suit and Chris are waiting outside the bathroom and Chris is giving the Pickle Suit man like, the evilest glare you could imagine (or Chris attempting to do so). I forget how it came up but the MPS is like "Yeah, I work for this guy named Clyde Cash, he's really great." Anyways, at the end of the date when Emily told Chris she was going to go off with the MPS (something Chris didn't get for a few minutes), all Chris did was shout "HE KNOWS CLYDE CASH!" Most of us were hoping for something more epic - Chris screaming "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO", tard rage, or him just breaking down crying. But instead, all we got was "HE KNOWS CLYDE CASH!" but still, a memorable quote. Yet now it's been worn out quite a bit on PVCC and Krapple with people proclaiming "I KNOW CLYDE CASH!"
The more you know. --Champthom 20:10, 30 June 2009 (CEST)
  • PS: If you ask me: no, the above picture does not belong on the CWCki. Llort 15:14, 30 June 2009 (CEST)

PVCC

I finally got around to creating an account on PVCC... two weeks ago... and I still haven't gotten an activation e-mail telling me that I'm in. Is someone asleep at the wheel? Am I just not allowed into the Kool Kids Klub? What the hell is going on? Llort 06:23, 7 July 2009 (CEST)

  • 1) I don't handle PVCC shit, cogs does since she runs the board, 2) no one gets approved unless they're cool so we can keep out white knights, newfags (LOL HOW DO I TROLL CHRIS?), and counter-trolls (pro tip: show up in IRC and whine to cogs there) and 3) you're probably not going to get in with that attitude. Only when you don't want a PVCC account is when you will get one. --Champthom 07:10, 7 July 2009 (CEST)
  • Gotcha. I asked you because I figured that either you were in charge or that you were at least the only person in a position to put in a good word in my behalf towards whomever was. I figured that if someone like cogs was in charge, and that she wasn't letting me in because she didn't know who I was, that me whining to her about it wouldn't help my case. I guess I'll just go back to my earlier state of not caring about a PVCC account, like you recommend. Llort 22:18, 7 July 2009 (CEST)

SonichuIzCool

Should a page for her be made? Sully expressed concerns that she is notable because she was the one true fan of Sonichu, but EDiots who read the CWCki might try to mess with her. What say you? --James Lamp-Eye 02:33, 14 July 2009 (CEST)

  • No, there's still some uncertainty whether she is indeed a genuinely retarded fan or a very good counter troll/white knight. Point is, let's not give attention to faggots like her. If more drama ensues, maybe but even then I'd still be reluctant. This is Chris's wiki and nothing less. --Champthom 03:41, 14 July 2009 (CEST)

Backing up the database

This wiki is one of my favorites and I do hope measures are taken to back it up. I remember how a wiki called Wikichan lost its entire database every 3 months so I hope this website is backed up. Now I know the site can be backed up very slowly with Special:Export, but I hope cogsdev backs it up with a normal SQL dump. --Ritegroic 03:18, 18 July 2009 (CEST)

  • I hope so to but cogsdev handles that sort of thing since she runs it. But thanks for pointing that out!--Champthom 03:18, 18 July 2009 (CEST)

Thanks man!

I wonder how he got it, I guess the field agents just gave him a list of names to shout out? They probably skipped you because you had a hermit crab named after you allready. Pretty awesome alltogether. Having my handle called out on the other side of the planet by an autistic retard really feels good. Heya, I applied to join the PVCC forums a few days ago, but not got a confirmation yet. Cogsdev PM'd me here to ask if it was genuinely me who applies, but I've not heard any more since. Just wondering if you can possibly help at all? Thanks!--UncleBastard 01:22, 21 July 2009 (CEST)

Your constant irritating reverts

  1. sonichu is the channel that krapple is always begging people to join because they keep banning people. And that channeled used to require an upload of your penis to join. --Ritegroic 20:44, 26 July 2009 (CEST)

Requested template

Had a go at your requested template here. Let me know what you think. --Great Briton 01:15, 30 July 2009 (CEST)

  • Not quite working yet. But you're getting quite close. --Champthom 02:17, 30 July 2009 (CEST)
  • Yeah, now it works fine, like on the Private Villa of Corrupted Citizens article. Only problem we'll have to address is what to about Chris's fucked up article naming system but that's for Cogs and I to work on. Otherwise, you get the GOLD STAR BOUNTY, WAY TO GO! --Champthom 21:57, 30 July 2009 (CEST)
    • I think I improved the flexibility a bit, you can now set which page on CWCipedia to link to and what to display as the link, both default to NAMEPAGE, added some documentation explaining. Thanks for the Award, too :D --Great Briton 00:05, 31 July 2009 (CEST)

/clap

Seriously, did you come up with the 'CWCipedia' thing? (I knew you had some SUPER SEEKRIT plan) Cause that's outright inspired. --Jump 04:16, 30 July 2009 (CEST)

  • Naw, that was Cog's idea of just giving Chris his own wiki. My idea was to just give Chris his own CWCki account and make a parallel space for him. But giving him his own wiki helps maintain some privacy. --Champthom 04:21, 30 July 2009 (CEST)

Cool, are we allowed to edit this alternate reality? (Obviously including CWC bias, I'm not totally retarded) --Jump 04:28, 30 July 2009 (CEST)

  • No, this is the wiki only CWC can edit, so there's no doubt in authenticity and we can have a public source to cite for stuff. --Champthom 04:30, 30 July 2009 (CEST)

Makes sense I suppose. I just thought Chris might notice he's practically alone. But them I remembered who the fuck I was talking about. --Jump 04:40, 30 July 2009 (CEST)

  • Chris has no idea how a wiki is suppose to work, he thinks it's just like his old Tripod site. I think Chris loves that only he (and an admin) can edit it. --Champthom 04:45, 30 July 2009 (CEST)

That image resize you requested

I wasn't going to fuck around with the GIFs. I just assumed we were going to accept them as being big and that's that. But since you asked, I plunked over this one you asked for. I made it smaller, but it's only about 1/3rd the size, which is still pretty big (1MB to be precise). And to do that even I had to crop and cut frames from it. Yeah, GIF has never been a great format. So what you have now is the extent of how small I can make it, without making it less funny/too small. I hope it helps. If policy is to keep GIFs small as well, then I can start policing those too, let me know. --Fuckingstupid 00:44, 31 July 2009 (CEST)

  • 1 MB is better than 3 MB but then again, you've also cut it down to size. On the one hand, the .gif as you have resized it focuses solely on Chris's nude spin, while the original had the whole room shot, as per the original video. I'll post a discussion to see if it should be reverted or not.
But I very much appreciate your effort. I guess that if we're going to have amusing/disgusting .gifs of Chris humping things, we best accept that they're going to be largish in size. --Champthom 00:53, 31 July 2009 (CEST)
  • Given that the funny part is more him spinning around naked so much than his room, I'd say just leave it. I guess I'll just weigh in on the discussion when it goes up. --Fuckingstupid 03:16, 31 July 2009 (CEST)

Hey admin guy

I've finished all the resizing (obviously) and I am ready to move on to other tasks. I'll hunt for something on the to-do list. In the meantime, I have created a guide for images (specifically for keeping to size restrictions) that can be seen on my user page that you can feel free to refer people to if they need help with images. Or you can delete it if you feel it's faggotry. I made it so that I'll never have to go on another resize binge. --Fuckingstupid 14:40, 31 July 2009 (CEST)

  • No, it's very good and I'd leave it there. Maybe even make it into a regular help page. --Champthom 00:33, 1 August 2009 (CEST)

Oversized

Don't worry dude, I will totally resize them for you... cause I love you. Also, fuck MS paint, get Picasa here --Fuckingstupid 10:44, 3 August 2009 (CEST)
