Talk:Retroactive continuity in Sonichu

I highly approve of this article. Mostly because I find it funny how he manages to occasionally screw up the names when he's reading the damn videobooks. I'm thinking a small section of examples of some of the more obvious/badly done of Chris's edits would go well here, someone remove it if they think it's overkill. Sonichu 5 Megan retcon?

There's probably few nerdier people than I who deal with retcons on a regular basis, but would this be considered a retcon where Chris changes one of the pages to have Megan say something far more passive-aggressive? --Champthom 13:09, 21 September 2009 (CEST)

  • Definitely counts as a retcon. He makes it look like Megan is more intimate with him than she really is (a.k.a. not at all) and to presumably appease Megan he's changed it to an animu closeup. Good idea, I'll add it. SirCucumber 14:31, 21 September 2009 (CEST)
  • I'd have to watch the video again to be sure, but in the TRUE AND HONEST audiobooks I think Megan is blacked out except for her eyes the first time she's introduced. She's uncensored in later comics, tho. --Anaconda 06:45, 22 September 2009 (CEST)

To do

This has featured article potential. Some more pictures of more amusing retcons (like the Fandanna one is a good catch), keep making the before and after sort of pics (good work for whoever uploaded those), and maybe make the name changes into a sortable table. --Champthom 07:28, 22 September 2009 (CEST)

  • Holy shit, I just missed something hilarious in the Fandanna picture which I should have noticed the first time. He totally missed the word 'Hanna' further down. SirCucumber 14:37, 22 September 2009 (CEST)
  • I ended up uploading the revised Fandanna retcon pic (how did I miss that the first time?!) under a new filename. The old picture (FandannaRetcon.JPG‎, marked it for deletion) didn't seem to like being replaced with one of a different resolution and simply appeared to stretch the old picture to the resolution of the new one. Was I just doing something wrong there? O_o SirCucumber 15:07, 22 September 2009 (CEST)

Company names

Most of the company names in Cwcville Mall used to be real-world things, but these were all changed at the insistence of the nefarious Jay-Z. Might do the list once I dig out the DVD-R I burned the alternate versions of comics on, but if someone's faster than me, heck, don't hold yourself back =)

And a small detail that I seem to remember: Jason and his love-slave and his allegedly illegal activities. Definite retcon there. --wwwwolf (wake me when you need me) 10:32, 22 September 2009 (CEST)

  • Good eye, I just discovered this while going through Clyde's backup of the comics and website. All of you who have contributed to this page are doing a fantastic job, to help you, I've discovered that Clyde's retcon has clearly labeled comic pages with before and after of all the comic pages, (with retconned pages being appended with "edit"). Get on this, stat. Also, finish the renaming thing (if it isn't finished already, we must be missing some) and this can definitely be a featured article. --Champthom 09:08, 1 December 2009 (CET)

Dem tits

So, going through the CWCki uploads, I noticed there was a discrepancy in the, ahem, chest size. Apparently, Chris went and outlined a fuckton of the Rosechu's breasts to prove he's straight. (A few cameltoes were added as well). Is this retcon, or just another creepy factoid? --Jump 22:28, 23 September 2009 (CEST)

  • I'm leaning towards retcon, as it's a way to show he's STRAIGHT, HE'S STRAIGHT, HE LOVES VAGINAS. In any case, someone make a picture comparing before and after. --Champthom 22:32, 23 September 2009 (CEST)
  • That should be easy, I'm on it. [Edit] Done. There are more examples, but I really don't wanna go through all the comics look at hedgehog titties. I also did I little write up --Jump 23:49, 23 September 2009 (CEST)
On a whim I checked Sonichu 8 for more goodies and I found the camera edit. The funny part about this picture is that Chris didn't even remove the old, original version from CWCipedia. The original is still showing up and was added at 00:25 on the 27th of July, 2009; the edited version was added at 22:26 on the 24th of August, 2009. I wonder if something specific happened in August to make him start revising his comics? All of the edits he's done seem to be from around that time (like the gay rainbow edit, with the date it was redrawn posted on it). SirCucumber 04:37, 24 September 2009 (CEST)
damn good e-detective work. if I had to guess, late July is when the "It's okay to be gay" and "Boyfriend" videos were released. CWC probably thought if he upped the heterosexuality in the comics, it would prove him STRAIGHT. He didn't switch them instantly, because he's lazy. Remember how he zerg rushed comics because liquid was muscling in? he first added these edited versions to his DeviantArt, but only a handful of krapplefags noticed. 110mb comes back on on Aug 24, and Chris changes them out ASAP.

But thats just a random access guess --Jump 05:18, 24 September 2009 (CEST)

Rosechu

Chris recently retconned the raichu that turned into Rosechu on the main page of the cwcipedia. He crudely made the raichu tail blunt to make it look female, and claims it was always like this. But he hasn't actually put the changes into the actual comic, just the main page. Sallyfox 20:03, 23 January 2010 (UTC)

time travel

according to the bios of the chaotic combo, they TIME TRAVELLED and then aged appropriately. Clydec 19:56, 24 June 2010 (UTC)

Non-retconned links

That site imploded with the CWCipedia. Does it exist somewhere else? --SeventhBase 21:29, 22 July 2010 (UTC)

Policy on recon names

Something that I've noticed is that there is an inconsistency throughout this site's articles. Specifically, some articles, when referring to Mary Lee Walsh's comic book incarnation, refer to her using her retcon name (Slaweel). This includes this article, this article, and this article, along with most of the articles for the Sonichu issues that she appears in. Blake is also an example of this; the article for Sonichu the character uses Blachu, while the article for Chris-Chan Sonichu, among others, uses Black Sonichu, and various other pages use Blake's current name.

I feel like there should be a Protip that defines which names the CWCki will use to refer to characters with their canon names changed.

I agree we should make it more consistent, but how can we go through hundreds of articles to fix it?. Also put 4 tilde (~) characters after your comment to sign your posts. - klop <-- fag (talk) 17:42, 23 July 2020 (UTC)
