- I tried doing that once. Didn't work. I think the PS3 uses a file system that Windows doesn't recognize. I've heard that it can be accessed in Linux, though. Not that it matters, since a formatted drive is near impossible to retrieve data from. He should have just backed it up beforehand.--T K 19 18:14, 29 August 2010 (PDT)

- Sort of, it certainly is a measure to change, albeit an extreme one, but necessary. It's like an addiction really and he's kind of forcing himself into a kind of rehab by doing this. This is all assuming he doesn't just go buy a new one though. But I think that all we've heard from Chris these past few months are all connected: the PS3 destruction, him trying to get off the internet, and, most of all, his high school reunion. Alternative Theory to PS3 Smashing
I found this in the /v/ section of 4chan so this may not be legit or accurate. The YouTube link does seem to backup the story below.

"Last month a group of trolls created a 'secret' forum where they'd plan all their Chris-chan trolls and leaked the address to him. Chris created an account posing as a 15 year old Boston boy who just happened to move in right across the street from Chris. To make his new persona believable, Chris related a story to how he was blowing an older boy and then threw up on his dick and then he realized he was straight. The forum existed entirely to get responses from Chris. When they suggested digging up the corpse of Chris' dog, Chris posted (in persona) about how he investigated the grave and found that it was haunted. I shit you not. This video stems from a 'trolling bounty' on the site: the first person who gets a video and 10 images of Chris' smashed up PS3 get the bounty of $9001. So Chris destroyed his own PS3, honestly believing that he could collect."
