::What about "Chris and Oratory"? it fits in better with the standards of the "Chris and..." series (E.G. "Chris and Cinematography", "... and Writing"), as oratory refers to the art/practice of public speaking, while the principal meaning of oration is a formal speech. "Chris and Oration" is kinda like calling "Chris and Writing", "Chris and Sentence".Saint-just (talk) 17:29, 9 July 2020 (UTC)

Twitter campaigns?
Considering this page is about oral speeches and general oratory pieces, I don't think that Twitter campaigns can really have a place here, sure, the videos themselves would be good examples to put in that section, but the twitter campaign is a very non-oral form of protest. I think they should be moved to their own page or possibly Chris and writing. What do other people think? Byzantine (talk) 13:19, 21 August 2020 (UTC)

::Hmm, having read the "In the comic" section, which is definitely not Chris speaking, but is technically still a speech, I can kinda see why the person who put Twitter campaigns here did, it is still a display of Chris's rhetoric, even if it's not using tone or body language. Topics

Does anyone have any ideas for what should be in this article? I really would like to discuss it with someone. I'd also like to have someone help me fix up this article.

 • In response to your earlier question about fact-checking, the article looks okay. I think it needs more references/examples. For instance, here's a source for the claim on using big words - https://sonichu.com/cwcki/July_2016_Facebook_posts#.22I.27m_not_on_drugs.21.22. And this recent video of him addressing N. Korea has examples of repetition and having a muddled argument (bringing up his trans identity when talking about how the N. Koreans should pursue peace, or detouring to talk about his dad's war experience). Some of the article's sections could be tightened up through editing (does there need to be a separate section for activism? Seems like it could be folded into the public speaker section.) Regarding topics, maybe mention Message for John Kyle? That one's interesting because Chris tried to contact Cole by using J.K., by throwing up the video on YouTube and assuming Kyle would see it, and also for how he tries to guilt-trip Cole while simultaneously trying to get him to visit.

Title

Something seems wrong about the title. I know oration is a succinct way of saying public communication skills, but "Chris and Oration" just doesn't sound right to me. Can anyone come up with a better title? Saint-just (talk) 21:35, 8 July 2020 (UTC)

Maybe “Chris and discourse” could work. PsychoNerd054 (talk) 01:40, 9 July 2020 (UTC)
Good idea, could use "Chris and rhetoric", but rhetoric is just a discipline under discourse (However think rhetoric is a more recognisable term for spoken language). Saint-just (talk) 13:52, 9 July 2020 (UTC)
I like Chris and oration more than these alternatives. - klop (talk) 15:37, 9 July 2020 (UTC)

Seems like a good idea. If they are moved to Chris and writing they can be used as an example of Chris's attempts at persuasive writing.--Superspongebobbros (talk) 19:43, 21 August 2020 (UTC)
