Son-Chu was the name Chris gave to his car. Chris has driven several cars over the years, all bearing vanity plates reading "SONICHU". Son-Chu's first incarnation was a 1994 Ford Escort station wagon that Chris drove until 2013, when he replaced it with a white Cadillac Seville, until it died from a cracked engine block. From September 2014 to November 2018, Chris drove a 2010 Ford Focus sedan, until its engine died. The Chandlers subsequently shared one vehicle: Barb's Dodge Grand Caravan, although Chris transferred the SONICHU plates onto it, thus making it the fourth and final incarnation of Son-Chu, until his arrest for incest and a thief stealing the unattended vehicle's plates, at which point the plates have been replaced and the van is now Barb's alone.
