The '''Incest Texts''' refer to text messages sent by Chris in which he discussed his [[Affair with Mother|incestuous affair with his mother]]. Screenshots of the texts are undated. Clues indicate a possible date of the night of 28 July 2021. If true this would place the texts as occurring a day after the [[Incest Call]]. The recipient of the texts is similarly unclear; clues indicate Chris sent the messages to [[Bella]]. This conversation took place over the encrypted text/video call app Signal, which Chris recommended out of concern the government may hack the conversation (having learned about the app by using it to communicate with Null). The texts were leaked on the early morning hours of 30 [[July 2021]], at 1:32 AM EST, by [[Fiona]].
On 27 [[March 2023]], [[Chris]] was [[Jail Saga#Bonded out or Released by court order|released from jail]], with the only explanation being ''"released by court order"''. Beginning on 1 [[May 2023]], '''sightings of Chris''' were reported in various places around {{w|Chesterfield County, Virginia}}. From [[June 2023|June]] onwards, Chris has been spotted in a number of locations around the state of Virginia, including {{w|Williamsburg, Virginia|Williamsburg}}, {{w|Lynchburg, Virginia|Lynchburg}}, {{w|Bedford, Virginia|Bedford}} and [[Ruckersville]]. In [[2024]] Chris began to be spotted in [[Finland]] and at [[conventions]].


The content of the Texts is disturbing with Chris describing his intimate moments with Barbara in detail. Chris also claims that he sent [[meditation]] tracks to Barbara to simulate her brain, and that he pleasured Barbara better than [[Bob|his father]].
Most of the sightings are initially posted to the [[r/ChrisChanSonichu|r/ChrisChanSonichu subreddit]] or to [[Twitter]]. Most sightings to date have involved Chris shopping. As of [[August 2023|August]], it has been confirmed that Chris once again has his [[Son-Chu|own car]]. On several occasions, Chris was seen accompanied by [[Flutter]], which has led to speculation that she might be his newest [[sweetheart]].


The Texts, along with the Incest Call, led to Chris being jailed on an incest charge for nearly two years, until the [[autism disorder deferred disposition]] caused the court to dismiss the charge in exchange for Chris completing the program's terms.  
These factors combined, along with Chris's diminished internet presence, have caused sightings of Chris to remain much more common than they ever were before his arrest.

On 27 March 2023, Chris was released from jail, with the only explanation being "released by court order". Beginning on 1 May 2023, sightings of Chris were reported in various places around Chesterfield County, Virginia. From June onwards, Chris has been spotted in a number of locations around the state of Virginia, including Williamsburg, Lynchburg, Bedford and Ruckersville. In 2024 Chris began to be spotted in Finland and at conventions.

Most of the sightings are initially posted to the r/ChrisChanSonichu subreddit or to Twitter. Most sightings to date have involved Chris shopping. As of August, it has been confirmed that Chris once again has his own car. On several occasions, Chris was seen accompanied by Flutter, which has led to speculation that she might be his newest sweetheart.

These factors combined, along with Chris's diminished internet presence, have caused sightings of Chris to remain much more common than they ever were before his arrest.
