On 20 [[March 2009]], [[Chris]] released a '''short video''' on [[YouTube]] in which he professes his love for his new e-girlfriend [[Ivy]]. The video was deleted and reposted by Chris four days later (officially titled "'''Update'''") on 24 March.  
On 27 [[March 2023]], [[Chris]] was [[Jail Saga#Bonded out or Released by court order|released from jail]], with the only explanation being ''"released by court order"''. Beginning on 1 [[May 2023]], '''sightings of Chris''' were reported in various places around {{w|Chesterfield County, Virginia}}. From [[June 2023|June]] onwards, Chris has been spotted in a number of locations around the state of Virginia, including {{w|Williamsburg, Virginia|Williamsburg}}, {{w|Lynchburg, Virginia|Lynchburg}}, {{w|Bedford, Virginia|Bedford}} and [[Ruckersville]]. In [[2024]] Chris began to be spotted in [[Finland]] and at [[conventions]].


This is a notable video as it is primarily shot close up with an emphasis on Chris's face, against the one part of his room with nothing plastered over it. He makes no attempt to establish the validity of the video by either showing off the [[high school ring]] or his (new) [[medallion]]. The video may be one of the most unintentionally creepy things ever filmed by Chris, with [[For My Sweetest Ivy|a later video dedicated to Ivy]] being close competition.
Most of the sightings are initially posted to the [[r/ChrisChanSonichu|r/ChrisChanSonichu subreddit]] or to [[Twitter]]. Most sightings to date have involved Chris shopping. Beginning on 1 May 2023, sightings of Chris were reported in various places around Chesterfield County, Virginia. From June onwards, Chris has been spotted in a number of locations around the state of Virginia, including Williamsburg, Lynchburg, Bedford and Ruckersville. In 2024 Chris began to be spotted in Finland and at conventions.

Most of the sightings are initially posted to the r/ChrisChanSonichu subreddit or to Twitter. Most sightings to date have involved Chris shopping.
