Adult Swim

Adult Swim is a late-night programming block on Cartoon Network, catering primarily to adults age 18-24.

Due to Chris's biological clock, he would stay up late at night and would frequently watch Adult Swim, especially since it catered to two of his chief interests - anime and random-access humor.

He has also downloaded many episodes of various Adult Swim series through the PlayStation Network -- almost $120 worth, as of fall 2009.

Of interesting note is the show Moral Orel (which ended in 2008), which is a claymation mainly focused at deconstructing fundamentalism, and the merging of church and state, which is common in the Midwestern United States and Bible Belt. It openly criticizes the blind faith and intolerance of many American Christians, and people like Chris are exactly who they are making fun of. Chris has stated in the Mailbag that he has watched the show, and said it was "okay". It is likely that all of the jokes and truths go right over his head, even obvious ones such as a character saying "I guess lots of things get misinterpreted and lost in translation" while scratching his head with a Bible. The subtlety and sarcasm is lost on the autistic mind. He probably didn't like the pilot episode which hinted at a homosexual relationship between two characters.

It is unknown if he watches Metalocalypse, although he probably hates it because of the drummer's name. It also is parodying heavy metal, which Chris doesn't listen to unless it's in Guitar Hero, because the only Dethklok song he's heard of is Thunderhorse, which was featured on GH2. The show also contains gratuitous animated violence, which Chris has an aversion to.

It's also not known if Chris watches The Venture Bros. as the character of Dr. Girlfriend is hinted to be a transsexual. Despite the show parodying shows Chris grew up with, his concrete thinking cannot grasp the tropes of the boy adventurer genre being deconstructed in a far too subtle and intellectual manner for him to understand. He also wouldn't have any interest in it anyway, being one of the few shows on Adult Swim that isn't full of random access humor, like Aqua Teen Hunger Force.
