This is a scratchpad for a work in progress. I'm currently an editor but do not personally know the main artist its writers, or other contributors.

If you're interested, we're still working on it here or at our new forums. We're hammering out the details for the first episode; we don't have any schedule or deadlines at the moment, but right now we've begun storyboarding the comic. Nothing below has been finalized, but we have a generally good idea of where we're headed with this issue.

And if you're wondering, no, we don't have plans to upload it to CWCipedia at this time. I guess we'll cross that bridge when we come to it; if cogs likes the final product she might upload it, but I can't make any guarantees. If that does happen, hopefully it will spur Chris into finishing Sonichu 11, which we are already planning contingencies for. In fact, there's one in particular I'm working on that I think will be absolutely diabolical.

Note to self: upload this under new name "Sonichu Evolution" provided the title won't change again.

  • A Promo video will be online one week before the comic's release, so keep your eyes open.*

OKAY NOW FOR THE ARTICLE ITSELF

In the wake of the April 24th CWCipedia vandalizations, some forummers on Asperpedia decided that the version of Sonichu 11 was good, but they could do better. Much better, in fact, as the whole premise behind their new project would be to ultimately reshape the Sonichu continuity into a respectable, enjoyable comic.

when i showed sonichu to a friend, he said that the idea and the story werent' bad, its was just that...well its just chris's fault.

Sonichu is both figuratively and literally Chris's child, and if we could prove to be better parents than Chris, that could destroy him

Collaberation on the new Sonichu 11 began on the now-defunct Asperpedia forums on April 27th; shortly thereafter, users were already brainstorming ideas for a reimagined Sonichu. The basic premise is that all previous Sonichu comics are to be considered cannon, but the new comic would add a significant twist: The Idiot Ball.

This magical plot device, borrowed from TV Tropes, is what causes the Sonichu characters to be the Naive jerks that they are. The Idiot ball was crafted by the Ancestor and is tied to the power of the Sonichu Balls and Cherokian Crown. It even has the power to warp reality, as the comic will explain why the previous comics look like hand-drawings by five-year-olds and why Chris looks much thinner than his TRUE and HONEST self. When Count Graduon deactivates it, the characters are freed from its effects and come to terms with the various atrocities they have committed, reevaluate their past relationships, and begin to search themselves for personalities that they previously were sorely lacking. The majority of the couples break up; at this point it is suggested that a few couples might be created that mess with Chris's original matchmaking. Furthermore, they see Chris for the lunatic that he is, and depose him.

The biggest kicker is that it will include the deposed mayor getting revenge on the traitorous mutineers by - what else? - drawing revenge fantasy comics, just like IRL! So effectively the troll comic retcons all future Sonichu comics as being mere slander and butthurt.

The difficult part was creating genuine personalities, where the original characters had none, in a convincing and coherent way. One suggestion followed on popular troll theory that Bubbles is a ditzy airhead. After being liberated from the idiot ball, she is confirmed to have a low IQ, but decides to go to Law School anyway to improve herself and help undo the damage of the mayor's kangaroo courts. She will also be campaigning to repeal all of CWCville's draconian laws, including anti-homo laws. Most of us agree this will be an interesting new characterization. Likewise, we'll be destroying all of the old Mary sue characterizations (Wild no longer has respect, Magi-Chan will limit his powers, etc.) while providing redeeming traits for an interesting story.

General Rules for writing the comic

  • All previous Sonichu comics are to be taken as cannon
  • Reference previous events as much as possible. Not only will this tie our comic firmly to the original Sonichu, but the characters will need to account for them.
  • No introduction of new characters; we have plenty to work with already
  • No killing off characters left and right; corrupting them is enough to work with
  • Limit the "Deus ex Machina" as much as possible unless it is a significant plot point referring to the original comics themselves
  • That also means trying to limit Chris's and Magi-chan's god-like powers in meaningful ways.
  • Simonchu and Asperchu/Mitch Sonichu are fair game, as they appeared in Sonichu 10.
  • Sub-episodes will focus on minor characters, and definitely NOT on Chris.
  • Give Chris as few reasons to criticize it as possible, which includes
    • Drawing by hand (so he can't complain it looks like blocky crap)
    • Letting major changes in characters be carried out over time (so he can't claim they're "caught-in-the-wilds")
    • Make the transition between his comic and our comic as seamless as possible (so he can't claim we aren't being TRUE and HONEST)
    • USE HIS OWN WORDS AGAINST HIM (so he can't claim we're making up SLANDEROUS LIES)
  • Most importantly, good story takes precedent over pissing off Chris. Many others have already done the latter. The objective is to try and redeem an unredeemable comic.

General Episode Template

A working model for the comic as a whole, this template serves as a basis for organizing the idea into their relevant chapters/situations. Everything above should eventually trickle down into one of the following categories.

Episode 23- "Paradise Lost"

Working title.

  • Count Graduon deactivates the Idiot Ball from the moon, possessing Metal Sonichu's body to do so.
  • The characters, freed of the Idiot Ball's control, figure out their new personalities and see their relationships in a new light.
  • Almost all pre-existing relationships break up. Most romantic ideas should be filed in this chapter.

Episode 24- "Dawn of a New Day"

Working title.

  • Chris is deposed as Mayor of CWCville.
  • Large action sequence. The characters rebel against Chris as he tries to re-establish the Idiot Ball.

Episode 25- "Trials and Tribulations"

Working title.

  • Blake rejoins Naitsirhc at Team Rocket and continue catching pokemon.
  • Bubbles attends Law School and becomes a Defense Attorney, protecting the innocents from CWCville's draconian laws.
  • Chris is sentenced for his multiple crimes against all humanity.

Sub-Episode #- "Various"

No current titles/amounts.

  • Should highlight minor characters that don't warrant a mention in the main comics. Chris should -Not- feature in any Sub-Episodes.
