The '''Financhu Crisis''' is a term coined by users from [[Kiwi Farms]] to describe the steep decline in the Chandler family's [[Chris and money|financial management]] beginning in early [[2016]]. Signs of the Chandlers' worsening finances were made apparent by the increasing amounts of begging videos and donation requests on [[YouTube]] and [[Facebook]].


It was [[May 2012]], with Chris’s impending trial from [[28 October 2011]] coming up soon, a few users of the [[CWCki Forums]] joked among themselves about starting a '''poster and flyer campaign''' to get Chris convicted on 2 [[June 2012]]. Little did they know they were being watched, as Chris often browsed the forum obsessively, he thought that this campaign was actually [[TRUE and HONEST]], leading to hilarious [[Twitter]] and [[Facebook]] posts as he believed that he had just discovered a major troll plot.  
In June 2017, [[Christian Weston Chandler|Chris]] began to take his [[Patreon]] account more seriously and recommenced drawing Sonichu comic pages. He has gotten several hundred dollars per month for his efforts, and payments continued until 2 August 2021, when his Patreon account was shut down. As a result, begging had temporarily subsided.

The Financhu Crisis is a term coined by users from Kiwi Farms to describe the steep decline in the Chandler family's financial management beginning in early 2016. Signs of the Chandlers' worsening finances were made apparent by the increasing amounts of begging videos and donation requests on YouTube and Facebook.

In June 2017, Chris began to take his Patreon account more seriously and recommenced drawing Sonichu comic pages. He has gotten several hundred dollars per month for his efforts, and payments continued until 2 August 2021, when his Patreon account was shut down. As a result, begging had temporarily subsided.
