During [[2018]], Chris hit his highest amount of sales revenue, exceeding over $10,000 in sales. That year's sales were heavily influenced by the [[Idea Guys]] saga, as they were alleged to have extorted Chris out of $6,000 by threatening to blow up his imaginary city [[CWCville]]. To help raise money to pay them off, Chris sold many items, including several of his [[Transformers]] toys, his [[Amnyfest Ring]] and [[ShecameforCWC.JPG]], as well as random objects from the Chandler home including [[Cole Smithey]]'s old homework assignments.
On 27 [[March 2023]], [[Chris]] was [[Jail Saga#Bonded out or Released by court order|released from jail]], with the only explanation being ''"released by court order"''. Beginning on 1 [[May 2023]], '''sightings of Chris''' were reported in various places around {{w|Chesterfield County, Virginia}}. From [[June 2023|June]] onwards, Chris has been spotted in a number of locations around the state of Virginia, including {{w|Williamsburg, Virginia|Williamsburg}}, {{w|Lynchburg, Virginia|Lynchburg}}, {{w|Bedford, Virginia|Bedford}} and [[Ruckersville]]. In [[2024]] Chris began to be spotted in [[Finland]] and at [[conventions]].


Sales continued after April, when the Idea Guys were removed from power, as the Chandlers were still having financial issues. Chris sold more items during the summer such as Sonichu- and Chris Chan-themed autographed photos, cards, and [[Fanta]] cans.
Most of the sightings are initially posted to the [[r/ChrisChanSonichu|r/ChrisChanSonichu subreddit]] or to [[Twitter]]. Most sightings to date have involved Chris shopping. As of [[August 2023|August]], it has been confirmed that Chris once again has his [[Son-Chu|own car]]. On several occasions, Chris was seen accompanied by [[Flutter]], which has led to speculation that she might be his newest [[sweetheart]].


Sales from this year would also start the [[Guard Dogs]] and [[Teen Troon Squad]] sagas, as Guard Dog [[The Captain]] began contact with Chris via purchasing his Amnyfest Ring, and Teen Troon Squad members began contact by purchasing shecameforCWC.JPG.
These factors combined, along with Chris's diminished internet presence, have caused sightings of Chris to remain much more common than they ever were before his arrest.

On 27 March 2023, Chris was released from jail, with the only explanation being "released by court order". Beginning on 1 May 2023, sightings of Chris were reported in various places around Chesterfield County, Virginia. From June onwards, Chris has been spotted in a number of locations around the state of Virginia, including Williamsburg, Lynchburg, Bedford and Ruckersville. In 2024 Chris began to be spotted in Finland and at conventions.

As of August, it has been confirmed that Chris once again has his own car.
