'''''Sonichu'' #7''' is the eighth issue of Christian's ''[[Sonichu (comic)|Sonichu]]'' comic book. Although the cover was drawn in March [[2007]], most of it would not be completed until August [[2008]], well into Chris's conflict with [[Encyclopedia Dramatica]] and months after his falling-out with [[Megan]]. This is the first issue of ''Sonichu'' to be directly affected by the influence of trolls. It is far from the last.
On 27 [[March 2023]], [[Chris]] was [[Jail Saga#Bonded out or Released by court order|released from jail]], with the only explanation being ''"released by court order"''. Beginning on 1 [[May 2023]], '''sightings of Chris''' were reported in various places around {{w|Chesterfield County, Virginia}}. From [[June 2023|June]] onwards, Chris has been spotted in a number of locations around the state of Virginia, including {{w|Williamsburg, Virginia|Williamsburg}}, {{w|Lynchburg, Virginia|Lynchburg}}, {{w|Bedford, Virginia|Bedford}} and [[Ruckersville]]. In [[2024]] Chris began to be spotted in [[Finland]] and at [[conventions]].


The ending of ''Sonichu'' #7 sets the stage for issues #8-10, as a mission into the past causes [[Christian Weston Chandler (character)|Chris]] to be stranded in "the [[Time Void]]" where he cannot directly intervene in the lives of his characters. Chris had by this time begun to feel he was becoming too intrusive in Sonichu's stories--possibly upon reading criticisms on [[ED]]--and wanted to remove himself as quickly as possible. Unfortunately, [[Chris and his ego|it didn't last]].
Most of the sightings are initially posted to the [[r/ChrisChanSonichu|r/ChrisChanSonichu subreddit]] or to [[Twitter]]. Most sightings to date have involved Chris shopping. As of [[August 2023|August]], it has been confirmed that Chris once again has his [[Son-Chu|own car]]. On several occasions, Chris was seen accompanied by [[Flutter]], which has led to speculation that she might be his newest [[sweetheart]].

Although Chris's comics were clearly never set in real-time ([[Episode 14]] takes place immediately after [[Episode 13]], not months later when Chris drew it), this is the first open acknowledgment that at times the comic's timeframe can be weeks or months behind real-time. This would become increasingly confusing as Chris would continue referring to dates in future issues, with events in the comics occurring a year or more before they were published. Indeed, during his stay in the time void the Chris of November 2007 experiences "future" visions of events such as ED's discovery of him and his heartbreak with Megan. Although ''Sonichu'' #7 sets up the storyline that [[PVCC]] plans to exploit Chris's absence with another invasion of [[CWCville]], Chris quickly loses interest in developing this idea in favor of another: [[4-cent_garbage.com]].
These factors combined, along with Chris's diminished internet presence, have caused sightings of Chris to remain much more common than they ever were before his arrest.

On 27 March 2023, Chris was released from jail, with the only explanation being "released by court order". Beginning on 1 May 2023, sightings of Chris were reported in various places around Chesterfield County, Virginia. From June onwards, Chris has been spotted in a number of locations around the state of Virginia, including Williamsburg, Lynchburg, Bedford and Ruckersville. In 2024 Chris began to be spotted in Finland and at conventions.

Most of the sightings are initially posted to the r/ChrisChanSonichu subreddit or to Twitter. Most sightings to date have involved Chris shopping. As of August, it has been confirmed that Chris once again has his own car.
