Chris's totally accurate and unbiased estimate of the number of Sonichu fans, Common Questions, 26 January 2010

Chris constantly refers to his fans as his "True and Loyal Fanbase" (aka his "fandase"). Fun fact: There are no actual Sonichu fans. Literally none. Let's pretend that looking at the garbage Chris produces is not enough proof to support that statement. Let's pretend the fact that he updates his shit about once every six months, and expects everyone to wait patiently is not enough proof to support that statement. Consider this: If there actually was one, wouldn't we have found out about them by now? Nevertheless, Chris stated in Mailbag 48 that he believes himself to have had over a billion fans[1], or roughly 1/6th of the world's population, since the comic began back in 2000. It may be worth noting that approximately 1/6 of the world's population are illiterate.

Personal Army

As has befallen many an individual posting on the internet, Chris believes that he has a wide fanbase that adores him. While this is normally just delusion coming from page views, Chris believes this despite the fact that his fans have repeatedly proven to be comprised exclusively of trolls. He addresses them whenever he feels they would be most helpful, such as when he needs votes in a contest or needs a troll taken care of, and speaks with full expectation of people following through with these orders simply because he gave them. This idea was reinforced with the failed trolling of the GameStop Be A Star Sweepstakes, and it's possible that's what drives him to continue acting this way.

Chris takes his alleged fanbase completely for granted, ignoring them except when he needs them to do something. Chris frequently views his fanbase as his personal army, so when he issues threats to withhold the comics unless the ED page gets taken down, he assumes that his TRUE and LOYAL fan will keep the trolls in check. The best example came on 27 August 2009, when Chris implored his fanbase to remove every last video that showed the tour of his house after his family found out about it. To this day, mirrors of the two-part video still pop up to mock Chris.

Despite the belief that his fans adore him, he is notoriously inattentive to the sort of things that allow a person to continue having fans. He believes that people love him for his comic, and yet updates are often months apart. Also, he blames this on stress caused by the trolls. And, since he assigned his fans to take care of the trolls for him, he's essentially blaming them for the fact that he can't keep updates regular. He also shows his fans contempt by having the radio on in the background during fan chats over Mumble and giving extremely short, often rude, responses to lengthy, innocent questions in the Mailbag.

Recently, though, it seems that Chris thinks he can control what the fans do with their lives. In a recent video, Chris tells his fans to never read an issue of Asperchu because "there are no LINKS" to Chris's works. It's slowly becoming obvious that the way he views his fans is becoming more warped every day.

After a troll caused Chris to lose his latest gal-pal, Chris took to his blog and attacked his fans, claiming that they don't want him to find True Love, that they were "are so self-absorbed in [them]selves, spoiled, and such, [THEY] ONLY want more story arcs and art MORE QUICKLY than [his] own Inspiration can come up with. [They] all are nothing bug greedy, impatient, unloved and corrupted people." He also claims to tire of trying to please the "millions" of fans he has and only wants to please those few close to him.

  2. Some argue that Gina, a mentally retarded young lady, was indeed a genuine Sonichu fan, but it may be possible she was a very convincing Robert Simmons V clone or a genuine white knight. Either way, after he abused her she's no longer a fan.
