Wiki editing guide request

Could someone work on a guide to explain the basics of wiki editing? Lots of people think they need to know a lot about Chris to edit the CWCki when really basic wiki editing is probably more important. Nothing fancy - mostly how to add images, how to link, that sort of thing. Hell, you could probably rip off Wikipedia's guide but rework it, maybe make it a bit Chris related. New userbox template

Medal of Merit: This user has done tremendous service to CWCki and deserves recognition as such. CWCki Jerkop: This user is a Jerkop on CWCki who bans vandals from this region. The Gold Star Bounty: This user is a Gold Star Bounty Hunter who has rightfully claimed the Gold Star as a bounty for completing a special CWCki assignment. Eurofag: This user is a Eurofag and insists on using unnecessary vowels.

A random, hopefully useful byproduct of me getting rid of my alleged egofaggotry... The award templates in CWCki are, in my opinion, a bit huge and ugly, and I've long wondered why we don't have actual good userbox templates. You know, small and modest ones. =) So, here is one now: {{Userbox}}.

The colors can be customised pretty easily. To the left you can see what kind of results you can get with this template; edit this section to see source code.

Note that I've not replaced any of the existing award/userbox templates yet; I think creating alternative versions of the current boxes might be a viable strategy instead. So, any opinions, people? --wwwwolf (wake me when you need me) 14:21, 29 May 2010 (UTC)

Doctors in Autism Papers

When reading the 2004 psychological report their were 2 doctors who analized him Zachariah C. Dameron, III M.D and Jeff Raynor M.D. After looking them up I found that the first doctor still works at UVA and her contact information is present. would this information be of any use for us? Right they can't release information without his concent. However technically wouldent they have to do something if he is making death threats and his behavior has become disturbing. I mean we all know Chris can't do shit and won't do shit. But technically the doctors would have to do something because he "he could harm him self or others" I mean with all the evidence we have against him pointing to his disturbing behavior. Well it would be funny if we could get him locked in a ward. He will be evaluated and the poor doctors will have to put up with his shit but Chris won't see it as help, he will see it as he can't play with his ps triple and sit his fat ass in front of the tv munching chicken mcnuggets. CWCpedia links

I've been deleting some links to the cwcpedia but have stumbled into two problems: one they are way to many and two some have relevant info for the articles. should i continue or revert the changes?J0haely 19:56, 30 May 2010 (UTC)

Uncompressed Audio

Any particular reason for using uncompressed audio in these articles (Emily date) since the source is rubbish im sure you could reduce the file size enough to host them on your server using current gen AAC compression (id recommend the Coding Tech AAC +2 Encoder --Nujyhi 22:33, 30 May 2010 (UTC)

You mean the files would be hosted in the wiki? Would be a good idea, but even with compression the files would still be huge, and Cogs would probably need to pass a verdict before we'll see awesome media streaming happening - there's a reason uploads are limited to 7 MB. Also, MediaWiki only supports Theora/Vorbis out of the box. TVtropes Article Heresy

Yeah, I don't know how many of you guys here visit TVtropes or were even aware that the website existed, but there used to be quite an extensive article on both Chris and Sonichu there, and it was how I discovered this wiki.

Note, there 'USED' to be there.

Now someone has cleared it out, claiming 'negativity' as one of the reasons that the examples and such were emptied out. It now hardly mentions how much of a psychopathic manchild Chris is. I, personally, was rather hacked off, as I found the page as a major source of lulz, and, as I said, it led me here. Now, the link to the CWCki is gone off the main page. And 'negativity' is such a bullshit excuse for a website that has a page for Adolph Hitler.

I personally have no pull there. If anyone here does, or if anyone here even cares about such things, they should go over there and try to get it all restored, or at least get them to restore the link to CWCki and a little info on how insane and dysfunctional Chris is.

In the meantime, I'm glad I found out about this wiki before that page got massacred. I can still get my lulz here, at least.

I think the problem is is that, unlike the CWCki, the Sonichu TVTropes page was diving too far into Chris's life and not into the comic itself. If the page was about Chris, it's understandable, but it's not - it's about the Sonichu comic (and most likely the troll stories that inspired it). If it was going too far into Chris's personal life, then they could have simply deleted the Real Life half of the article. But oh well, Sonichu is still in So Bad It's Horrible. The Sonichu article was blanked and locked by a mod named FastEddie. I sent him a PM on there stating that for a wiki which has extensive articles on multiple historical complete monsters and numerous so bad it's horrible films, games, shows, and webcomics, wiping an article based on "negativity" is a bullshit excuse. --BreadGod 17:54, 10 June 2010 (UTC)

I completely agree with TV Tropes opinion on this matter. TV Tropes does not exist to condone negativity. Accordingly, I have begun to rewrite all negative articles, starting with Hitler. I don't think it's even worth the time to bother with it; the article was, frankly, a seething mass of white knight/troll edit wars, discussion that belonged in a forum, and was less organized than the Chandler household. If people want to find more they can Google Sonichu or CWC and that'll lead them to this site soon enough. I agree that the way the article has been sanitized is a blatant overreaction, (There are plenty of other idiot writers and creators that get shit on regularly on that site) but frankly it's not worth the time and effort, especially if the site's founder locked the page. This is the same thing that happened back in 2005. Whenever he would display his attraction sign, he would eventually get kicked out for his creepy behavior. A little detail here; Chris was kicked out of a private premise because he was creepy and arrested because he was trespassing. Right now, he's on public ground and making a fashion "statement". I'm trying to find information on just what is a sex crime in the state of Virginia, but all I keep getting is the damn sex offender registry. A lot of areas have their own silly codes, like it's illegal in Manhattan to sit at a park bench near a playground if you're not with a child. Taking candid photos of children in public is usually prohibited, which Chris could have been nailed for if the cops pressed the matter and got a warrant to look through his cameras memory to see if Snyder's daughter was centered in any of the photos, indicating Chris was intentionally focusing on her. You may want to start here. Anything Chris would be convicted of would be stalking under this definition, more specifically putting a person in reasonable fear of a sexual crime. How should we handle Chris's Flipnotes?

The first two were laughably pathetic, and the trollsong was just extended plagarisim, but Hippo on Head is longer than some of Chris's full-fledged youtube videos.

I personally think that we should treat Chris's video flipnotes the same way we do his videos, with a page and a transcript, as well as add them to the list of videos. At least one person here is mirroring the videos on youtube, so we can display those on the CWCki with no problems.
