Final Thoughts on the Sprung Quest

So, now that the exact source of the article has been located, and 'super confirmed' the quest is over for DarkWestern. It was a difficult task for DW to actually locate, because none of the pages included the source of the article, not even the main Sprung page simply stated it. Ultimately all the hard work was pretty pointless considering the Sonichu's News Dash literally had the information hidden in plain sight on the photo of the page in question. DarkWestern feels accomplished with his quest completed, and can resume clicking on [https://sonichu.com/cwcki/Special:Random Random Page] all day at his security guard post.

==Schizotypal personality disorder theory==
DW realized Chris' antics had skyrocketed far beyond simple autism and started doing some research. The result was that Chris may be suffering from something called Schizotypal personality disorder. Here are some of the symptoms which may sound familiar.
    Being a loner and lacking close friends outside of the immediate family
    Peculiar, eccentric or unusual thinking, beliefs or mannerisms
    Dressing in peculiar ways, such as appearing unkempt or wearing oddly matched clothes
    Belief in special powers, such as mental telepathy or superstitions
    Unusual perceptions, such as sensing an absent person's presence or having illusions
    Peculiar style of speech, such as vague or unusual patterns of speaking, or rambling oddly during conversations
[ Not sure how to leave a proper citation, but the list was taken from https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/schizotypal-personality-disorder/symptoms-causes/syc-20353919 ]
DW firmly believes Chris must be suffering from PTSP. It is also uncertain at this point what this may mean, but DW thinks it deserves a mention as a theory.
==DW & Sarah and Steve==
DarkWestern had been in contact with Sarah and Steve to some extent, and was given permission to reveal their TRUE and HONEST thoughts through DM's on Twitter [7/26/2019] as shown below.
When asked if they'd funded Chris' Bronycon trip, they replied:
[[File:Sarah_and_steve001.jpeg|400px|link=https://sonichu.com/cwcki/File:Sarah_and_steve001.jpeg]]
DarkWestern had informed them that the CWCki [ possibly now revised ] claimed they were the source of the $600 donation to fund his 2019 trip, and below is their reply, which also inadvertently reveals their entire Chris Chan budget since meeting him.
==Fun Facts==
And finally, to source these claims, this is the CWCki's report of their spending. They donated at least $300~$400 to Chris through Patreon, and were not responsible for the CWCKi's claim of $600 funding for Bronycon, as highlighted below with circles.

[[File:Incorrect.png|800px|link=https://sonichu.com/cwcki/File:Incorrect.png]]

Assuming their claims are TRUE and HONEST, their total spending on Chris would be $300 for the Switch, and $300~$400 through Patron, totaling somewhere between $600 and $700, and not $1,000 as credited above.

About DarkWestern

This is the user page for DarkWestern, a mediocre YouTube personality, and a fan of Chris Chan.

DW on YouTube and DW on Twitter

DarkWestern's ties to 4Chan can be found online as early as 2006, but his first visit is lost to time. Shortly after finding 4Chan as an endless source of entertainment and lulz, DW started noticing the occasional post about "Sonichu" and this crazy guy who seemed angry all the time. Having quickly embraced 4Chan as an endless source of autism, DW simply ignored him and moved on. Surely Chris was just the typical 4Channer with nothing special enough to stand out. It wouldn't be till many years later that DW would finally decide to learn about CWC, and was shocked to find that he was one of the thousands who found CWC interesting, and puzzling. DW feels disappointed to have such a gap in Christory, and was busy trolling elsewhere on 4Chan during the time. What a missed opportunity. He now spends his days at work clicking on Random Page, and learning everything which was missed.

What was it about this man had made so many thousands seek out information on him? A question we surely have all asked ourselves at some point. The pursuit of knowledge? The psychology behind him, and his trolls? The long term effects of cyber bullying and unregulated internet use? DW may never know the answer to that, but is sitting on the sidelines with a big tub of popcorn waiting to see what happens next.

Chris Chan and DarkWestern

Sprung Article Quest

DarkWestern decided that it would be quite fun to own physical copies of magazines that were stupid enough to actually publish letters from Chris so he could frame them. He got the Shojo Beat magazine, which led to him realizing the CWCki page was missing a few words, and added them, and he bought the Nintendo Power with the Animal Crossing documentary, but was stumped when it came to the Sprung article. DW realized that there was not enough information on the CWCki to find it, and there should be, and thus the quest began.

"The current mission is to find the exact issue, and page of the Nintendo Power containing Chris' letter regarding Sprung. It's been narrowed down to the March/April 2004 issues of Nintendo Power Magazine, and the physical copies are in the mail. It is suspected that it may be in a later issue than March/April 2004, possibly 2005...

This is all we have so far. Even this very CWCki has not the exact origins of the article."

Update 5/9/2019

DW was convinced that it had to be issue 178, or 179, and hastily purchased them from eBay. This is the entry after they arrived in the mail and the article was not in either issue.

"As it turns out, neither issue of Nintendo Power [ 178-179 ] which were purchased on eBay contain the Sprung article. DW is now fairly convinced that the article is within Nintendo Power issue 190, but is broke AF right now, and issue 190 is on the shopping list."

Update 5/14/2019

DarkWestern by pure happenstance comes across Sonichu's News Dash #8's picture of the open magazine, and notices the extremely small writing in the corner which points out all the information needed to find the article, and posts the following.

"The Sprung article quest is finally over! It began so long before this user page was created. Sonichu's News Dash Issue #8 has all but confirmed any suspicions regarding the Sprung article's exact location. DW is awaiting a copy of 190 in the mail to 'super confirm' it. Once it arrives in the mail, and DW can 'super confirm' that everything is correct, DW plans to make micro-edits to the articles regarding Sprung which have incorrect information.

Here is the picture with Chris Chan's handwriting specifying the year, month, issue, page, and correcting Nintendo Power writers of where his location is."

Update 5/22/2019 END

DW obtains a physical copy of Nintendo Power #190. It is now 'super confirmed' to be #190. The article in question is on pages 8 and 9. This concludes the Sprung Article Quest.

DarkWestern feels accomplished with his quest completed, and can resume clicking on Random Page all day at his security guard post.

Schizotypal personality disorder theory

DW & Sarah and Steve

DarkWestern had been in contact with Sarah and Steve to some extent, and was given permission to reveal their TRUE and HONEST thoughts through DM's on Twitter [7/26/2019] as shown below.

When asked if they'd funded Chris' Bronycon trip, they replied:

DarkWestern had informed them that the CWCki [ possibly now revised ] claimed they were the source of the $600 donation to fund his 2019 trip, and below is their reply, which also inadvertently reveals their entire Chris Chan budget since meeting him.

And finally, to source these claims, this is the CWCki's report of their spending. They donated at least $300~$400 to Chris through Patreon, and were not responsible for the CWCKi's claim of $600 funding for Bronycon, as highlighted below with circles.

Assuming their claims are TRUE and HONEST, their total spending on Chris would be $300 for the Switch, and $300~$400 through Patron, totaling somewhere between $600 and $700, and not $1,000 as credited above.
